dogwelder Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Quote Now, Sony is bringing back Faces of Death, but with a twist. The new film doesn't pretend to be a documentary. Instead, it's the fictionalized story of the female moderator of an online video platform whose job is to remove offensive content. When she finds a group of people who are recreating the murders seen in the 1978 Faces of Death, she has to figure out if they're real or not in an era of AI fakery. Faces of Death (2026) stars Barbie Ferreira, Dacre Montgomery, Josie Totah, Charli XCX, and Jermaine Fowler. It was directed by Daniel Goldhaber (Cam, How to Blow Up a Pipeline) with a script by Goldhaber and Isa Mazzei.
Technico Support Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) Man, that takes me back. I remember renting the VHS tapes of these when we were young enough to not know they were fake. Yeah, I grew up in a time and place where a 12 year old could rent Faces of Death and grab a pack of smokes for dad on the way home. Edited January 28 by Technico Support
Curt McGirt Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Were they at the same gas station? I've actually never seen a Faces of Death (or thankfully, Traces of Death) but I rented and even dubbed a Banned from Television once, I think it was vol. 2. It had the Tonya Harding sex tape at the end as I recall... ugh. Anyway, the one thing that stuck with me and always will forever with that was seeing a mom and her child try and get across some train tracks in time. Yeah. Spoiler They got hit by the train and turned into a spinning ball of blood that shot towards the camera at an angle and off the right hand side of the screen. I've seen a million horrific things online and in/on albums and album covers. That beat all. Just the worst thing ever. 1
Mister TV Posted January 28 Posted January 28 So many kids in school lied and/or exaggerated about what they saw in Faces of Death, when I finally saw it my reaction was pretty much that’s it? 1

Craig H Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Maybe I'm alone in thinking it, but Michael looks fucking bad. It straight up looks like on of SNL's movie trailer sketches. There were so many times during the trailer that I was waiting for laughter from the audience.
Craig H Posted February 2 Posted February 2 As for Scream 7...What everyone wants: STU IS STILL ALIVE AND KILLING AGAIN! YES! What you'll get: Probably a VHS recording of Stu back in high school talking about killing or something. And they can't do the whole "son/daughter of Stu" angle because they already did that with Billy. A couple movies back. Fuck it. I'll watch it anyway. The more recent ones have been anywhere from pretty damn good to good if you're into Fast and Furious levels of ridiculousness. 1
RIPPA Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Full Trailer for The Drama It's A24 so of course its batshit Directed by Kristoffer Borgli Zendaya and Robert Pattinson (along with whichever Haim sister that was in the trailer)
Log Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Is it weird to say that looks fun? I think it looks fun. Oh, and that's Alana Haim. She seems to be the actress one. 1
zendragon Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Nicolas Cage is out of debit and is ready to get weird 4
