🎼 In case you forgot or fell off, I'm still hot, knock your shell off, My money stack fat plus I can't turn the swell off...

Well, the tournament is over and of course, L.A. Knight was... not victorious!

(That said, they had a delightful little match and Gunther pulled out a nasty new sleeper variant, which looks super ouchy.)

🎶 The franchise, doin' big bi'ness, I live this, It's automatic I win this... Oh, you hear those horns, you finished!

As for my own part of John's long history...

#2, red hat, white shirt, hard cam side 3rd row.... that's me.  We got tickets via a family friend.  Also, as soon as I saw that gigantic platform come down, I knew Edge was fucking toast.

📯 A soldier, and I stay under you fightin', plus I'm stormin' on you chumps like I'm thunder and lightnin'... Ain't no way you breakin' me, kid, I'm harder than nails, plus I keep it on lock like I'm part of the jail...

So, for one last time, it's the WWE featuring John Cena! And we got a Main Event on Saturday Night to set up!  Here's Punchable Pearce here to tell you about it!

His notable omission of 2026 DVDVR 500 Default #1 Becky Lynch is noted.

( 🎶JOHN CENA SUCKS... JOHN CENA SUUUUCKS... JOHN CENA SUCKS... JOHN CENA SUUUUUCKS!  😢 GODSPEED YOU! CHAINGANG EMPEROR)

Enjoy your week!

Gunther's promo stating his intention to tap out Cena was good.

Kairi/Io was good, even better than their last match. Loved the crowd getting so into it. Kairi and Asuka were such joys leaning into smug heeldom.

The attack Logan Paul did on Rey and eventual Knight save was all well done, but I just have so little interest in Paul right now. Skipped the main event with him and Knight wrestling each other. Did like the masked man returning. If it is Theory it actually does make some sense as he had a friendship with Paul at one point.

Styles/Dragon vs. War Raiders was good though that Dragon/Ivar lift section sadly did not work out so well. Still they recovered for some neat shit afterward. The post match with the Usos returning to the tag division was unexpected. I'm curious if it actually sticks or if they maybe still have them go after singles titles as well.

Wasn't expecting much from the what's next for Vaquer interview, but I did enjoy Raquel murking Nikki and declaring hersel fnext. Also enjoyed the aftermath backstage with Liv seemingly being ok and going all in on supporting Roxanne.

Roxanne/Lyra built into something nice though you can tell these two still struggle a pinch to gain the crowd's full attention when not up against bigger names.

The three matches I caught were good and worth a catch, especially Io/Kairi. I thought the story side was mostly solid as well. Still its ridiculous to only fit 4 matches into a near 2 1/2 hour show. It feels like HHH and co. are getting worse at time management with the main roster. I kind of fear Smackdown going back to three hours, especially as the arguably worst of the three US brands WWE is running. Will say though it is nice to see the women's division on the Raw side slowly reviving. Loving the focus on the tag titles, and vids like Maxxine's training are adding something extra interesting to both her and Nattie as personalities.

I've been pretty down on WWE's product as a whole, but SNME is looking pretty great cardwise, especially adding Lee/Styles v Evans/Slater and Sol/Bayley.

I will fully admit, I'd love Oba to give Cody the Brodie Lee treatment and just squash him

I thought for a second the masked guy was about to return and stomp Logan also.

Also, I'm 80% sure that's not Theory under that hood.  He frankly looks too tall.  Leaning towards Trick... which would make sense having them toss LP aside and picking up Williams into The Vision.  A fully controllable, and a LOT less annoying personality to help Bron in his eventual title reign. Run Paul/Bron for the title at the Rumble and then pick whoever to face him at Mania (The final redemption of LA Knight would fit. So would the return of Jericho. Or if he's ready, the return of Seth.) If he survives, have Gunther come after him during the Spring.

I wouldn't be shocked if the final plan is Theory but they just have different random people under there just to try to swerve the sheets, etc. until the ultimate reveal.

Hopefully they have him do some magic. Maybe teleporting a crew member across the arena?

Haven't seen Raw (Monday is my trivia night, so I usually wait til it goes up for download so I can watch on the bus/at lunch or just don't see it) but this SNME is starting to feel like I, personally, am being targeted. "Oh, this asshole keeps skipping them, or watching a half hour and changing the channel? We'll show HIM a loaded card."

Jordynne/Kelani was damn good as expected.

The failed open challenge with Blake was amusing but felt like a waste. Still, I am looking forward to Blake/Thea.

Lexis/Shiloh was decent though it felt like a waste of King. It feels weird how King finally got good last year and was decently over as a face & heel only to be cooled off so much in 2025. Hope they do more with him next year.

Page's promo was good. Not sure what's up with Tony suddenly attacking him like he did Je'Von.

Sol/Wren was a nice little match with Wren getting a good showcase and Sol looking good as usual. Enjoyed the post match segment with Fatal Influence and the WQCC trading words and eventually fists. Will be fun if they actually give Wren a third. Also enjoyed the parking lot reconciliation between Sol and Zaria though you are left with a feeling of whether or not things are truly good.

Je'Von/Oba was another damn good match bordering on something great. Ricky's turn was somehow both unexpected but made sense given how things played out earlier. It also gives a bit of the vision of what is likely to be the Stand & Deliver main event if Oba moves up by then.

This was a good night wrestling wise. Shiloh's debut was just ok, but everything else was well worth a watch. Jordynne/Kelani & Oba/Je'Von in particular were strong matches that I suspect nothing else in WWE this week will quite beat sans maybe Ciampa/Ilja. Story wise I thought much of the show was mostly solid. Still, things like Lexis in purgatory, Tony's random attacks (including no follow up on hitting Je'Von), and the main event are good reminders of how much things have been lacking on the men's singles side with Michaels's creative team. Feels like mistakes they made back in 24 are coming back on them in 25 in terms of who they pushed when and where. Even with my annoyances I thought this was solid-good show. The women are still the strongest thing going though in and out of the ring as a whole. Hope we get more main events with them. In general though I'm hoping the overall scene improves over the next few months.

So Jessie Ventura is planned to be at SNME this weekend.   Now I kind of want Trump to show up because Jessie doesn't give two fucks about what TKO brass thinks

Posted

Eh fuck that. I don't want Trump around at all. Besides I'm pretty sure Jesse will talk shit regardless. They are too close for him to not make at least one snide remark.

They just had to put it on Peacock, can't even put it on regular NBC.

Ilja had a ridiculously stiff match with Ciampa and had his nose probably broken by Ciampa's arm coming down on him from a top rope Air Raid Crash. Blood everywhere, uncensored. Didn't that already happen once or am I thinking of somebody else on WWE Programming? Anyway, Ilja is a no-lose proposition for a good match. Watch every one you can.

The Cody/Oba segment was decent and hopefully the start of something bigger.

Ilja/Ciampa was damn good as expected, maybe Iljja's best match since he beat Sami for the belt. I assume the ending leads to more fighting with DIY though I'm hoping the Tama is happening soon.

Lash/Alexa was exactly what it needed to be as a showcase of Lash's power and getting in a strong win. Liking how Lash has been used so far since her debut on Smackdown.

The Wyatt Sicks promo was fine.

Miz/Je'Von was good. Evans continues to impress every match, and its always nice to see Miz wanting to show how capable he can be.

Jade murking Mia before their match only for Mia to return for a short brawl was actually kind of un. It felt like it did more for both than an actual match would have done at the moment. Still, it really does feel like we are just waiting for either Jade/Rhea or Jade/Bianca to start at this point. Its a shame there isn't more to Smackdown's women's division right now. The few who might present as a decent challenge for Jade are all heels.

Priest/Rhea vs. Black/Zelina was fun outside of one or two big botches. That failed code red felt scary though it seemed like Rhea and Zelina were fine overall.

Nothing particularly bad on this show though I think Ilja/Ciampa and Miz/Je'Von carried the wrestling side with both standing out decently well. The story side of the show was decent but again nothing really standing out despit eme enjoying the general stories and build. Probably a solid show generally speaking but still worrying quality wise given the extra hour they are receiving next month.

I like Zelina Vega, but that was a bad showing tonight for her. She almost killed both herself and Rhea Ripley. Maybe she doesn't work well against bigger women, but she's been wrestling for over 10 years. She shouldn't be screwing up this badly.

She normally doesn't botch let alone that bad. I recall she missed the Streamer Awards from this week for family issues. Maybe her mind wasn't in the best place?

The women's WrestleMania commercial with the Liv reveal is really well done.

Decent episode. I'm digging the Miz right now. Not in a "Give him a push" way but he definitely understands his role right now and is nailing it.

Mia got punked out by Jade twice so why should we care about a match?

Wyat Sicks promo kinda sucked.

Ilja/Ciampa was pretty damn good. That's the kind of match they'll need more of soon, with the third hour coming.

I know that we have a long list of great struts in pro wrestling but the Oba Femi strut is top tier for me.   The best I can describe it as the "Fat man walking into an all you can eat buffet place".  You dont know what will happen inside but you know some shit is getting fucked up

All I can think of looking at Jessie Ventura tonight is why didnt bring he bring Big Mama with him.

As much as it does suck that this isn't on the main channel.  The last time they did a retirement show on Saturday Night Main Event, Goldberg had his shit cut off a couple minutes in and got pissed off about it.  At least with Peacock it has no time limit and no damn commercials every 15 minutes

I also find it interesting that Cena wanted to put NXT talent on his final show to represent the future and it is very likely that every single one of them could lose tonight.  I would think Sol Ruca is beating Bayley but it wouldn't surprise me if they pull the Zaria heel turn tonight
