Claudio and Pac are great in-ring wrestlers but don't really have the chops outside of it to pull that off (they've each been around 20ish years by now, if they could we'd have likely seen it by now), Yuta has the heat but not the credibility, Garcia just got here after his own struggles and Gabe Kidd... well fuck Gabe Kidd really. Sometimes it's better for things to just end. End it and then Garcia beats him.
Yo-Yo's Roomie Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Loved the women's match. So many great highlights (Mercedes handing everyone a belt/weapon, Julia and Thekla Eugene Tooms-ing out the cage, Skye Blue bleeding for 40+ minutes etc) and the finish was spectacular. Marina was such a badass in this. Total chaotic and dangerous aura. She's the obvious choice to take over the Riders once they kick Mox to the curb. Imagine the heat when she slaps Renee around. And then who does Mox enlist to go after Marina, the monster he created for him? Renee's best friend in the business, of course, Mercedes Mone (this is based on the pure joy Renee seems to have every time she interviews Mercedes, even though Mercedes treats her like trash most of the time). 2

Also, FULL GEAR isn't AEW's next pay per view, it's the text PAC sends to his "trainer" every month. Jesus. At this point, we can just hope one of those "care packages" won't result in WORLD'S END for him soon, because parts of him look like they might explode at any moment. 2

The parallelism of the finishes, with Toni tapping out to save her love and Mox tapping out to save his own ass, was really well done. One of my long-time criticisms of AEW is that things all seem to happen on their own separate islands but the two BnG matches really felt like they were in conversation with one another. The “after” shot of Sky is a strong contender for the cover of Way of the Blade volume 3! Edited November 14, 2025 by Technico Support 4

Would fit the mood of the rest of the Sisters.

Stardom would work, just have Thekla "send them" to wreck Stardom in her place. Not that the Sisters of Sin are bad, but tightening up their offense is the one thing missing for both of them, and Japan is the best place to learn that, you're not really gonna learn that in CMLL. I've been hoping/wishing for the same, but many years in with many awkward to bad matches, and no tours on the horizon, tells me it's not happening. The Sisters even look awkward trying to figure out how they should appear during their entrances - ultra-awkward when Thekla's involved. In-ring, a lot of their tandem offense is very poorly executed. I see a lot of the problems with green Julia (please stop doing that god awful rope walk spot). In singles, Skye looked great opposite (the carry workers) Toni and Hayter, and in general always looks better to me sans Julia. Coming out of this BNG seems like a great opportunity to put some steam on her. Ugh(!), but not the tag titles with Julia. Julia showed a lot of character a year or so back, but has struggled inside the ring since returning. Yeah, to your point, a great example of somebody desperately needing the reps, and the aforementioned international tours. Skye singles, with a reasonably decent finisher (stop with that awful looking sunset flip shit and steal one of Fletcher's many) might be a way to go coming off this bloody and hard working performance.

Shartnado Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 @just drew PAC does look bigger than ever, right? It's not just me thinking that. I mean his awesome legs may have taken a bit of a hit during the injury, but his upper body has never looked like this before, right? Also, this would be an amazing opportunity for @AxB to link some photos of PAC circa 2007 just to show you how much of "Full Gear" we are talking about! I have one match of his from that time, and holy shit, he looks like Spike Dudley!
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Pac looks huge. I was wondering if it's just wearing new gear making him seem bigger. Maybe it's just new gear. 2
AxB Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 I know a guy who used to Backyard with Pac, when they were both teenagers. He said Pac's been on the juice since puberty. So even that picture is not of Natty Pac. 1 6

Niners Fan in CT Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Meltzer on drugs again. Gave the men's match 5 stars and the women's match 4.5 I really haven't seen anyone anywhere say the men's was better. But oh well. 2

IIRC, this is the one where PAC walked out on the BCC, but it also wasn't the Death Riders yet, and why was Takeshita there? Yeah I agree with you that 2022 was great because of all the Eddie Kingston and Claudio conflict and both Daddy Magic and especially Cool Hand bled fucking buckets. I barely remember 2023 either, was that the exploding Nikes and Kota Ibushi blowing every move he tried? 2

ExcellenceofAirPollution Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 (edited) Also on Pac being huge/a freak.... He had Darby up in the gorilla press for a long time while Kidd was getting the fire ready. You can see him look down and notice it's not done yet and like quietly sigh and stand there with his arms fully extended even longer.......and then he tosses Darby about as safely as possible lol. Total beast. Edited November 15, 2025 by ExcellenceofAirPollution Darby not Orange
DreamBroken Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Skye's solo heel theme was by Butcher Babies which I always thought was a perfect fit, though I also like Julia and Thekla's themes a lot as well, and then they have their separate stable theme also.

The Natural Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Here's the Blood and Guts matches from 2021-2024 in full on AEW's YouTube. 1
DMJ Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 - Yeah...I don't get PAC's decision even from a "look" perspective. He can get as big as he wants, but he's still well under 6 feet. I kinda have the same view of a guy like Buddy Murphy (who is at least a couple inches taller than PAC). The bodybuilder physique almost seems out of place in AEW when some of the bigger "names" like Page, Swerve, Darby, etc. aren't really people I'd consider "body guys." I mean, yes, obviously, the aforementioned and folks like Omega and Kyle Fletcher are incredible athletes who have physiques that most of us could only dream of obtaining...but PAC is giving off "freakish" and there's no evidence at all that having that look leads to stronger booking. At least when Jinder Mahal got jacked, there was a clear goal in mind with a clear outcome (impressing Vince). - Meltzer's ratings have been shit since he broke his own system by going above 5-stars. Obviously, its his scale to do what he wants with, but when you add notches to your scale, a 5-star match is no longer a masterpeice, its just a really, really good match. The scale I use on my blog (cheap plug: Kwang The Blog) is 0-5 with only half-points (no quarter stars). A "4" is a should watch/must watch, a 4.5 is an absolute "must watch" and MOTY contender, and a 5 is a rare Match of the Year-in-any-year type match (Flair/Steamboat at WrestleWar 89') or a match that is essentially flawless in storytelling and execution (Piper/Bret at WM8). I had both Blood and Guts matches in the 3-3.5 range. Above-average, yes, but way, way too imperfect to be essential viewing. For every cool moment in the women's match, there was something equally awkward in terms of cooperation (Julia Hart's top rope walking move is the shits) or telegraphing. The men's match was also good-not-great. It dragged at times and didn't really pick up until Moxley came in and O'Reilly got opened up. As usual, Cassidy, Darby, and Claudio did some really cool and fun stuff...but they always do really cool, fun stuff so, y'know, par for the course. I really disliked Mox's selling in the end. I also thought Briscoe getting taken out, while a smart way to negate the babyface advantage, made no sense. Like, Briscoe was just hanging out in a separate locker room minutes before the match started? Maybe its head canon, but I always thought the teams were kinda watching the match play out together and deciding, in the moment, what their strategy was for who would go in next. I don't think either match was really anything super special where, next month, we're going to say, "Oh, that was top 10 AEW match of the year." 4
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 I disagree with you and Meltzer Lol. My rankings would align more with @The Natural on this. I don't really do star ratings but if i had to I'd probably go somewhere around 4.25 for the men's match and 4.75 for the women's match. I didn't mind any of the clunkiness in the women's B&G because I liked the chaotic feel throughout the duration of that match. If a little clunkiness means we are going to get all of the violence, blood and intensity we got with some great spots thrown in then sign me up every time. The women were destroying each other in there and by the end of the match, it showed. They were beaten down and exhausted. The storytelling is what puts it up near a perfect score for me. You had some nice bits between Mercedes and Statlander and then the heels going over Toni/Mina in the way they did with the torture aspects, it drove home what they were trying to accomplish in the match but maybe more so what's to come for the women's tag tournament. I loved that the heels had such a finely tuned plan. In that one match, they progressed the stories of both Mercedes/Stat and the women's tag tournament with Mina/Toni, Skye/Julia and Megan/Marina all alive in the bracket. 1 1
