stuntmanc Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I had contemplated making a second road trip from Philly to NC for this show(Sting's retirement match was the other road trip I made). i decided that since it was the middle of the week, it wouldn't be a good idea/use of time. After watching it, yeah, i definitely regret my laziness. The Women, who always bring it in hardcore matches, absolutely showed out and AEW really does have a deep, amazing womens roster. I enjoyed the whole show, but you could tell that all 12 of them wanted to make a lasting impression in a match that according to reports, a lot of them have been asking for, for years. I can only speak for myself, but I think that Skye Bue replaced Britt Baker with the most iconic "Bloody visage" for the womens side and ill absolutely be buying a shirt if they put it on there. Well done. 5
The Natural Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Despite Blue wearing a crimson mask, though, Fightful Select has reported that the Triangle of Madness member was said to be okay. Jamie Hayter, however, was "a little banged up" following Blood & Guts and she may have chipped several teeth during the match. One person Fightful spoke with said Hayter was "as bad ass as you would expect." --- Oww. 2

hammerva Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I would think that unless you have really good seats you probably had to watch the big screen to begin with if you are there live. And even that you would a massive case of sensory overload. 1

Mike Campbell Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 When Mox and Claudio were stapling Cassidy's hands into his pockets, all I could think about was my dad and how much he'd have fucking loved it. 9
Steventon Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 really enjoyed both matches but they suffered from the same tropes as every other B&G/Nu WarGames match in going too long and being too spot focused. they need to cut the entrances down from 5 mins to 2-3 mins. The women def delivered but the end was super jank. Willow superplexes Bayne between the rings (gnarly bump), but then Willow sells it all the way to end of the match while Bayne is up seconds later for the finish, which itself was painfully melodramatic and overwrought. Typical AEW in that they clearly planned out the spots they wanted to do but making them logical in the match was a seondary consideration. Also it may have worked better if it was the other way around with Tony taking the punishment and Mina throwing in the towel because she knew Toni would never quit. Hangman vs Hobbs ruled and that back body bump - christ! I look forward to Hobbs's main event heel run in 2027 hopefully. Mens B&G had some strong parts but once again leaning on Gabe Kidd interference is so lazy. Is he actually going to lead to anything satisfying, i.e. Darby beating him? Probs not. They should have had him the match itself given how PAC is so obviously uninterested in these types of matches. They could have easily shaved 10 minus out and had a better match. That said, I thought the end sequence with the about to murder Kyle, OC making the save, the babyface comeback, leading to Mox tapping out, was excellent. Just a shame they had Darby do the pointless flaming table bump to take him out from the finish, given he is the main protagonist of this program. 1
Go2Sleep Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Dynamite: Extreme Rules was a lot of fun. I had a laugh at participants coming in every "few" minutes. Just outright said "fuck it, we're not doing anything important during commercial breaks, don't worry." The women's BNG was a little clunky at times, but generally hit all the big moments and had some good little stuff as well. Skye Blue is establishing herself as a hardcore queen. "Escape the cage" is a tired trope, but Julia and Thekla definitely pulled off the best version of it. Jamie's stair bump was Darby-esque, possibly the most I cringed all match. Stat sold her nail bump well, but I was more amazed at her lower body strength doing that back bridge to make the bump as safe as possible while still being a quality sell for a kick. Marina looked like a terminatrix. Perfect aura. I'm glad they played on Mercedes being out of her element, and icking out when some blood got on her hand was top tier character work. Ending was pretty cliche, but the heel team needed the win and Skye and Marina's stock shot way up here. Hangman/Hobbs could've main evented any other Dynamite with their match. Both guys came out looking good and at least they set up something a little different for the Joe rematch. Men's BNG was a lot smoother than the women's, but also seemed way overdone. I feel like there was a great story there with Wheeler and Garcia taking a massive beating all match, then Mox taps to something pretty ordinary, but they drifted away from that by the 3rd entrants. I didn't like the manufactured adversity with Briscoe being attacked by the Callis Family, and while visually impressive, the flaming table spot was very unnecessary. Just seems like they lost the plot a few times. The stuff in the ring was all pretty good for the most part. Mox's fork sequence and KOR's gusher was the highlight. KOR got a massive boost from this match and it was kind of nice to see someone somewhat unexpected get a rub from Mox's downfall. KOR might not ever be world championship material in AEW, but a win like this can keep him relevant in the secondary title (whichever one they wanna emphasize in any given month) picture for the rest of his career. 3
just drew Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 My initial reaction post was probably a little knee-jerky. The Death Riders is chock full of dudes I enjoy watching and there's maybe one guy on the other side I give a shred of a shit about. I thought Yuta and Garcia really looked great. Those are two guys you can absolutely build around. Yuta has really come into his own. Looks like he's put on some good weight, too. Also, FULL GEAR isn't AEW's next pay per view, it's the text PAC sends to his "trainer" every month. Jesus. Marina Shafir was incredible. I'm sure it's because she just works snug, but holy shit did she lay her shit in. I wanted Toni to spill those pearls all over the mat and then get someone to chase her, like in Home Alone 2. LOVED LOVED LOVED that finish. 3
Curt McGirt Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I was afraid that if someone stuck a fork or some other sharp object into one of those enormous cables on PAC's arms then he would have blown blood through the cage and clear over to the far wall of the arena. 3

The Natural Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Watched the Women's Blood and Guts back. Best Blood and Guts match in AEW history and a MOTYC. 3
Log Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 This was the first show I've actually been able to just sit and watch live in a long time. So fun. I thought both B&G matches delivered, and Hangman/Hobbs over-delivered. I really loved the ending to the women's match. My one nitpick is that it would've been better if they'd locked Willow out, too. Having the babyface team minus Toni and Mina all locked out would've just take it up a small notch in my book. It was cool seeing O'Reilly, who by all accounts is a good dude, get that moment. Wasn't it unlikely he'd even wrestle again a couple years ago? 6
Curt McGirt Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Ooof, yeah; apparently he had neck fusion surgery. I thought it had something to do with his diabetes but nope. He also worked for PWG, so it's no big surprise he's in AEW now.
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 13, 2025 Author Posted November 13, 2025 I'm surprised Darby didn't ask for thumbtacks to be on the table as well. Though this probably cauterized any wounds he had, so... win some/lose some? 3
Curt McGirt Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 You just made me think of a Darby/Kasai match and god please don't let that happen for his sake. 2
Nice Guy Eddie Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I had so much fun watching this Dynamite. I really needed it after the week I had with my grandmother's passing. This was the perfect escape for 2 1/2 hours. 13
HarryArchieGus Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 O’Reilly submitting Mox and the closing moments that led to it were easily my favorite finish of an AEW BNG match. Hobbs-Hanger was so goddamn good. The Ladies BNG had a nice heated finish thanks in large part to Toni. Both matches felt far too long to me, especially the ladies, but everybody worked really hard and there was lots of fun to be had, so I’ll save my laundry list of frustrations. I also loved the FTR/Steamboat/Brodido segment. Fun Dynamite, but happy to have had ffwd option at times. 1

That one-ups my Darby/Despy idea. I was at the Coliseum last night. Thought the crowd was pretty great, and on par with the Collision a couple years ago during the height of the Collision Cowboy era (this was the notorious Hangman was banned from Collision episode) Hobbs was getting more cheers than Hangman, though it was pretty obvious it was the crowd really being into Hobbs than anything bad about Hangman. The crowd was under 50% white male. A lot of POC and women in the crowd. AEW draws a very diverse crowd. Good number of dolls as well. Everyone wrestling on the main show tonight was over. The least over was probably Roddy, and the intro segment got him over. Claudio got bemusingly pissed when I yelled "bad imperial fist" at him ^_^. Wifey with the chain on his arm called him a wannabe Sigismund. Wifey also joked that Penelope's outfit was a Sororitas Cherub. (This is all 40k stuff , if you don't get it, don't worry) FTR/Stoke got nuclear heat against Steamboat. Fans wanted to see Steamboat get in the ring one more time. Flair got a tremendous reception unfortunately. A lot of fans knew the local indie, the dark match jobbers were from FSPW and they were getting noticed. No one gave a shit about Griff Garrison or Shean Dean, and I was glad Garrison got no reaction. The Gabe Kidd stuff confused the audience, as did a Mark Briscoe stuff, some of that was the feed announcing what happened cut off, which led to boos at a weird time. Next step is some H-town in North carolina to see Bandit this weekend. Getting the wrestlers we want to see out of the way before we leave the country for good. 5 2

I wanna see Toni Storm get blasted in the face with a mirror or Darby set on fire. Totally agree with you, but one thing I think they could take from the older War Games that would be nice is how they would move to the finish pretty quickly once everyone was in the cage. I do think the AEW ones tend to hit a spot once everyone is in where there's some waiting around to get to the finish stretch. 1
