Have they really kayfabed the relationship?  The first time they stood together Marina had a look that at the very least shown they will familiar with each other.  And I thought someone already made a comment on commentary about it too

The trailer on YouTube for Blood and Guts is pretty wild and they put drops of blood on one of those things used with microscopes with the name of everyone on it.   And then get to Darby one and it looks like it was swimming in blood at the end

Whoever is doing the marketing/video packages for AEW in recent months has either really stepped up their game or maybe they have someone new in the department. They've been amazing.

This is absolutely true of some of the videos - eg. the recent Ads. The recap videos on the otherhand continue to be like looking into a strobe light. The clips are so fast they're barely seen. Case in point, the Anniversary video - breakneck speed clips with no chance to reflect on anything they're showing. And forgotten as soon as it ends.

Hangman Adam Page discusses distinguishing the AEW Men’s and Women’s World Championships by name:

“I feel like in professional wrestling historically, it has been the case that the men's division has been billed as, you know, the World Champion… To me, that always seemed like if you have to specify that one's for the women and the other one is the World Championship, it felt like it created this hierarchy where one you're telling the viewer and the audience that one of them is more important than the other. And I don't think that's the way that our fans feel any longer.

I feel like specifying myself as Men’s World Champion… maybe kind of just asks people to stop and think. Whether it's fans, the audience, or whether it's people involved in wrestling, decision makers, or the wrestlers themselves. I’ve always tried to institute small little changes in the world that I'm involved in to make the world more representative of how I feel like it truly is or should be.”

Would AEW be tacky enough to have the next heel Champion (whoever Hangman loses it to) insist that he's not the Men's World Champion, he's the World Champion?

Because MJF would totally go there, but I would think most AEW wrestlers would be fine with being the Champion of Men.

I like the point Hangman’s made with the ‘Men’s’ tag on the title, but wondering if, for the sake of brevity, we couldn’t just drop the ‘women’s’ and ‘men’s’ and refer to the individual title holders for both divisions as the World Champion. Or if we need a signal to differ them we could call the Women’s - ‘the Real World Champion’.

So, Jericho is pretty much gone. He said TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world because they did 5k at Bound for Glory or whatever lmaoooo (he compared Dynamite at the ECW Arena to BFG).

MJF really should steal Freddie Blassie's old like about referring to himself as "The King of Men"

Sounds like some one is going into the WWE hall of fame soon.

There was a question in WOR asking where Luther has been, and my first guess was that there’s probably no reason to keep a guy around who was only hired as a favor to Jericho.

Television reason that's been given is that he's injured.

Somebody needs to ask him at whatever next time he answers fan questions if he's so high on TNA that he's willing to work with them. 😛

Luther as Toni's butler has been fucking wonderful - keep that man around!

Yeah, was about to reply along these lines. I think the Timeless act has lost just a little bit of it's charm without him.

tigerstylepro was a 2024 hire that probably went unnoticed by a lot of people.

The other guy up for that job was Tom Green of "WCW Deeeep Cuuuut" fame.

Kind of a tangent, but in the modern landscape of professional wrestling, the "world champion" designation has lost all real meaning. There isn't a champion that travels the world from promotion to promotion, defending the title against that area's top contenders.  And I never really bought into that whole idea that if a title is defended in multiple nations, it is a "world" championship - so is the WWE Intercontinental title a world championship?  There isn't a sanctioning body overseeing the titles, not even a Kayfabe one (like the IWGP), they're all company titles.

So, for brevity, why not just call them the "AEW Men's Championship" and "AEW Women's Championship"?

I used to work with a guy in Pittsburgh that used that nickname; "King of Men" Devin Devine. He was basically doing a Lawleresque throwback Memphis gimmick.

They announced him for an appearance at a Heels thing recently so he’s around at least.

Forgot to mention, when the wife and I met Aubrey, she mentioned that he's going to be in a cooking video for Heels soon. (Wife points at my Chaos Project shirt) "He loves Luther!"

I didn't get on in time for all the Miranda/Nixon discussion, but Miranda did actually do as Willow or Harley did and had her fair share of getting squashed in the early years of Dark, including a year 1 Dynamite loss to Awesome Kong that was under a minute, until she joined ROH in 2021. Then when the new ROH show started, she resumed the same including a loss to Willow on one of the PPV preshows, until she ultimately won her own squash match in what was actually her last Honor Club appearance a few years ago.   This whole thing just seemed bizarre and as a fan of both, I would've liked to have seen them become AEW regulars but it doesn't seem like it would've ever been the plan if Nixon is already entering her final year and Miranda runs her own school/indy in Houston anyways, but I hope this doesn't entirely derail them and they do continue to work in and around their local indys at least.

Not sure where to put this but there seems to have been a change to AEW on MAX that happened today.

I was able to watch Dynamite live last night, but I didn't watch the entire show (ducked out before the men's cage match)

Today when I went to finish the show it said I needed to switch plans to a higher tier ($18.99 a month, I'm on the $9.99....soon to be $10.99 with ads) to watch it.  All the older episodes of TV and PPV seem to be available on the cheaper tier still but I haven't gone through it completely

So I'm wondering if it's just the replay not being available for a period of time.....or if I can no longer watch Dynamite live on this tier.  I don't believe I got an e-mail or any kind of announcement about this.  I don't care about any of the sports they have, if AEW is now sports tier pricing I'm out

I wonder if they'd let him use "Judas," since the sing-along bit is like, half his act nowadays.

If TKO gets a taste of the royalties. I’m sure the can make it work.

If anyone doesn't think the MOMENT-obsessed creatives in WWE aren't fully bricked thinking about the crowd singing Judas at Mania, they don't know these unimaginative goobers very well.
