Mr. Hughes who showed up in WWE very shortly after this, I might add.

Also, wouldn't it be funny if the suit also had those patches of hair growing out of it?

Thinking about CM Punk as the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion got me thinking about who were older than he is (47). I can only think of Vince McMahon (54) as WWF Champion in September 1999, Goldberg (53) as WWE Universal Champion in February-March 2020 and Fk Hulk Hogan (49) as WWF/E Champion in April-May 2002.

John Cena was 48 while holding the title this year.

The WCW WHC oldest was Ric Flair at 51. The oldest NWA World champion is Tim Storm at 51. Undertaker was the oldest for the previous defunct WHC at 44.

Sting is the oldest TNA World champion, 52.

CM Punk is the oldest for the current WHC.

Vince still has his WWF/E title oldest record.

The oldest ECW champion was Mr. McMahon at age 61.

The oldest Zero 1 WHC champion is Akitoshi Saito, 58.

The oldest Triple Crown champion is Yuji Nagata, 54. The oldest GHC HW champion is Muto, 58.

The oldest IWGP World champion is Hirooki Goto, 45.

Tenryu was the oldest IWGP Heavyweight champion, 49. M.Suzuki was the oldest IWGP IC champion, 49.

Chris Jericho is the oldest ROH World Champ, 53.

I only use was for some cases, because some titles being defunct titles.

Someone else will have to do AWA's World, and WCW World International, and few others.

I think Triple H was 47 as WWE Champion in January-April 2016. Cheers.

Nick Bockwinkel was 52 when he was named AWA champion and 53 when he dropped it Hennig.

There is also longest runs, shortest runs, record defenses, heaviest and lightest, record times champions, final Champs as well.

Some old records like Kobashi as longest reign for GHC HW champ still are unbroken, 735 days. Misawa still has the longest Triple Crown run, 705 days.

I'm glad those records are still intact. Legendary reigns like that deserve to be kept unbroken. Three more:

Kazuchika Okada as IWGP Heavyweight Champion, 720 days.

Jushin Thunder Liger as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, 628 days.

There are records of the 3 belts the Triple Crown were made from not broken either. They stay stuck that way forever.  Which is nice.

I forgot about most combined days and defenses for belts.

Sugiura still has the most defenses for GHC HW for one run, he broke Kenta Kobashi's record defenses in one run.  He's alright, but I don't care much about him. I like to see someone break it later.

Kawada still has the record defenses for Triple Crown in one reign, his fifth and final run.

Old Man Verne Gagne was 55 when he retired as AWA champion in 1981, so he once again hogs the spotlight from Bockwinkel.
