I found it interesting that the men's match is 5 on 5, but the women's is 6 on 6.
Is Kommander in The Conglomeration? Subsequently, is Alex Abrahantes?

You don't need to be in the Conglomeration to team with them (Roddy Strong isn't in the Conglomeration, and he teams with them all of the time). You just need to be Conglom-adjacent.

Bandido vs Mascara Dorada was really good. Hopefully AEW can continue to properly re-educate the mainstream American wrestling fans who think WCW Nitro-ised Lucha Libre is what Lucha is. Giving them 20+ minutes and letting them do the early matwork and escalate to the high flying, instead of giving them under 5 minutes and forcing them to start at the finish. They've already done sterling work letting the people know that Lucha brawling is a thing that exists, with RUSH out there fairly often having actual RUSH matches.

This is true. Jet Speed has already being defined as being such. Are we counting Roddy and Kommander/Alex though?

To be clear I had nothing against Dorada/Bandido it's just I've seen it before and it's more tecnico vs. tecnico highflyer stuff that I don't really care about. If it's educating the audience about a big one fall belt match, great... then maybe give them a 2/3 falls match? A parejas increibles? A hair match?

It would be funny if they do men's B&G first, nobody bleeds except Moxley and Briscoe, then EVERYONE bleeds in the women's haha.

Just caught up on both shows.

The injury timing for Penelope really sucks. She was actually starting to get into a nice groove with Megan as an actual team not just someone to eat falls for her. I will say the Megan/Marina team with Mox jerking it under the table is a pretty good gimmick, though.

Liked what I saw from Nixon/Miranda, hopefully they stick around.

The women's blood and guts is a cluster, but will still probably be more fun than the men. I can understand why they'd want to put the big names in this one, but Toni, Stat, and particularly Mercedes are extremely unnecessary.

The entire men's match is completely unnecessary, though. Couldn't they just let the women have the spotlight for one show and throw the never ending Darby/Mox feud in an AITA match at Full Gear?

The 4-way tag was a lot of fun. Felt PPV quality. The Bucks redemption arc is coming along nicely.

Joe is gonna kill Tony for that stunt, isn't he?

Are they though? Who else could (logically) fill their spots?

Hangman Tony was something else!

Surprised that Sisters of Sin actually won, but they are one of the few longer term teams they've got, so okay.

I did figure Aubrey would get clocked by Marina and was mumbling something about a possibility of a double count out before it happened, so I guess the thought process in that match was pretty logical?

They are doing a pretty good job making Okada look like the one who is being the dick in this one. I did see Brian Cage in that painting but I'm not sure if Wardlow was there at all?

Was looking at Archer and thinking that I guess it actually is better if an old guy like him (I think we are exactly the same age?) is dressing up in clothes that used to be fashionable when he was younger rather than trying to dress in what would be trendy these days. I guess both things are lame, but just different kind of lame and the first kind is definitely less so.

Both 4 ways were really good and even if the winners of both matches were foregone conclusions, they were both structured really well and gave each guys or teams a feasible opportunity to win.

It was sad for Penelope to go down with an injury, but Bayne/Safir combo is a walking nightmare for just about every other team in the tournament.

The face side of Men's Blood and Guts has to be the physically smallest team to compete in one of these so far? The gutsiest and most resilient too, but definitely not going to overpower anyone, definitely not the Death Riders, despite Yuta and Garcia being on the opposing side.

Statlander vs Mercedes is going to be very interesting to see, as far as who comes out on top of this one? It could actually go either way. The one is definitely worse outcome than the other one, but both are within the realm of realistic possibility.

All star lineup for the Women’s BNG in place of a competent build. At least the workhorses are in there.

So, two poorly built BNGs on one two hour show? Might be a good opportunity to skip my first Dynamite of this 6 year run. Tho, if I’m honest, that is unlikely.

Archer

was apparently wearing some old gear of his for Halloween, I believe?

If whoever beats Mercedes wins all the belts that would be awesome. Then she has to lose them one by one!

Maybe a match in between. I'm calling it now, women's goes on last.

. Fuck the Death Riders.

That statement is why I think the men's goes last. I'm thinking there will be some nice storyline advancement with Mox maybe hitting the end of the line.

@Dolfan in NYC Sick of Myself by Matthew Sweet came on while I was running today and I was trying to remember the name of the thread from a few weeks ago.  All I could come up with was "Sick of Myself When I Look at Yuta" but I knew that wasn't right.

Collision was solid, hate how they had some many commercials during the main event. Really enjoyed the opening sequence, and how they built to the crazy flying stuff at the end.

Didn‘t see anything from Marina in the tag match to make me change my negative opinion of her wrestling ability and sloppiness.

The commercials drove me nuts enough that I usually watch the Fite broadcast the next day instead of live.

TOM, Megan, Marina, Athena vs. Jamie, Aminata, Willow, Harley, TayJay

The Penelope injury really messes up the heel team, but Athena seems like a better mercenary than Mercedes. Toni and Stat have both been in some great hardcore matches and Mercedes is good enough to adapt, but this is the kind of match where the gimmick sells it more than the participants and it's a great time to give other people a rub.

The problem is that... the step before Stat and Mercedes getting added into the match is Mercedes getting thrown into the cake. Getting added to a Blood & Guts/Wargames/HIAC because of cake has gotta make the all time "idk this match happens this time of the year and we gotta have people in it" weak justifications list. I'm sure they'll be fun in the match itself but a blood feud this ain't been.

I understand the complaints on the extremely poor build, but Mercedes, Stat and Toni is a helluva lot better than not. More curious to see how Mercedes and Toni operate in there than anything else - story or otherwise. Marina, Julia and Skye are the biggest question marks. I have doubts I'll like and appreciate a match with those three in it better than a match with Claudio, Pac, Mox, Yuta, Garcia, Darby, Roddy, Briscoe, Orange and O'Reilly. Despite the trademark AEW microwavable heat-up and 'Death Riders' fatigue, a match with that many tippy top talents has the potential (not that the standard is so high) to be the best BNG match yet.

Unfortunately yes. She might best be just used as a heater, but if she doesn't get in the reps she'll never get any better I suppose.

Everyone: "If there's no women's B&G we riot"

Also everyone, post-announcement: "Women's B&G lineup isn't good enough"

Jesus wept, people.

They've been building towards B&G with the ladies since All In (or close to it) I think. They've been having schmozz after matches with many of the ladies this whole time. Are we all that thick headed we cannot see that?  AEW just waited until the absolute last minute to formally announce the match, and who was in it.

They have, but in my opinion you'd expect things to escalate and crystallize as we got closer to the date. What we actually got was them seemingly backing off from the idea in the last month or two. Hence my uncertainty before the announcement about whether we'd be getting a women's B&G at all. Making it a plot point that the Triangle of Madness had never accepted Jamie's challenge then just announcing the match less than a week before it happens, with no reason given for what had changed, is particularly daft. Again, in my opinion.

I do think not having the match at all after they teased it so clearly would have been worse. But I don't think the fact that we got what we wanted there precludes people from also pointing out that the build to the women's match hasn't been particularly good.
