I don't give a single fuck about another Death Riders gimmick match.  I'd rather they end the Death Riders completely.  I hope the women's B&G isn't cancelled because it would have been a lot better than whatever the men are going to do.  Willow,  Aminata, Hayter, Thekla, Skye Blue,  you know damn well they'd go all out like they always do and it'd be a great match.

I will once again hammer the point that making these a de rigeur annual event takes away pretty much everything that makes them special.

I agree on this 10000000%. I hate when gimmick feud-ending matches are on a calendar schedule, and not when storyline logic dictates. Having an event like the Royal Rumble on a calendar schedule makes sense, having a Wargames match because it is November doesn't.

Yeah there is no point in leaving the cage. Watch Magnum vs. Tully again, Coach T.

Just this would endear so much good will from me, personally. Please, wrestlers everywhere, stop leaving the cage in cage matches. That's the whole point, you can't leave. That's what makes them special. Please stop.

I hate hate hate when a gimmick match is booked, and then the match is all about not working within the confines of the gimmick. Cage matches are about keeping people out (or in WWE, getting out).  Just having a cage match where everyone goes in and out willy nilly defeats the purpose. Just like a laddermatch where guys don't try to get the belts, etc.

I like Blood and Guts. They're always good. This one should be no different.

Wait, am I crazy or were they just teasing a women's Blood and Guts match a few weeks ago?

Anyway. Hangman still rules. That angle at the end had me laughing and it was really awesome.

I am currently reading The City and The City by China Miéville and hear me out: hold both a women's and men's Blood & Guts match not just the same night but at the same time...

I'll be stoked when DCF turns on Takeshita, and then he has to wrestle each of them to get to Okada in a series of very-good-to-total-banger matches.

I wonder if TK decided it wasn't worth risking the health of so many women's tag team tourney participants in a B&G match. I agree, fwiw.

Now for some reason I want that gauntlet idea, but have the last guy be Archer. For sure.

And just to be nice, give Archer 75% of it

Oooo. But would/could Fletcher take the loss?

Considering he's had real bad luck with the division injury wise I understand the logic as well.

I would contend that the Blood & Guts event likely had a fixed date (I assume AEW has to know which arena they are using two rings for well before the match is announced) while they've been sort of hemming and hawing about the women's tag belts for ages now, could have easily started the tourney a month or two later or earlier and not had to worry about that at all.

Coach Tony not jumping on a TOURNAMENT is like telling him he doesn't need a NEW BELT.

You get a belt and a tournament! And you get a belt and tournament! And you get one!

Are we even getting a women's Blood & Guts match? They still haven't announced any teams, and the announcers have gone to lengths to remind us in recent weeks that the Triangle of Madness hadn't accepted Hayter's challenge.

Having Hayter issue the challenge then not follow up with a match would be pretty bush-league, but I'm worried that's what's going to happen.

I would be beyond furious. Now that you mention all of that, and now that I think about it, them starting the women's tag title tournament this week is odd timing too. Especially with most of the women in the brackets having been rumored for the match. Theoretically wouldn't the tournament end around the Blood & Guts show? I'm now fearing that they'll have the finals at the Blood & Guts show as a make good on basically cancelling it.

That's so fucked.

Or
The Women's Tag Team Tournament is a replacement for the Women's Blood & Guts match.

AEW deserves to get fucking roasted for this if this is indeed the case.

Where does this Women's Blood n Guts match rank on all time worst 'wargames' builds?

....What?

Could be proven wrong yet but I'd put money on this being the direction of travel

- teasing reunion with Kenny

- the Jurassic Express PPV match concluding with no shenanigans

- lots of banger matches recently which showcase them as great wrestlers and get good fan reactions

- making them a comedy act who make fans laugh, rather than an act fans hate / are meant to hate

- recently pairing them with acts like FTR and Doc Callis who are the bigger heels in comparison

- the whole story has been a fall from grace, which usually concludes with some sort of redemption

There you go, quit complaining 😛

Anyway I wasn't feeling it much tonight. I liked the opening tag, because it was funny that an undercard feud of dueling partners was facing a top-card feud of dueling partners. Bowens' "Cobra Clutch Neckbreaker" as Don called it (I think it is actually a Cravate Neckbreaker? Anyone got a thought?) is pretty cool. At one point I swear Nigel said "blow me" to Tony and he muttered "I will not blow you", jeez. They really need to pull the trigger on this and just have Okada hit Take with the belt already. Meanwhile, Moxley sounds like he just smoked a whole carton of menthols. The Conglomeration now has a Saved by the Bell theme. You're on your own with the rest.

A shame to see TayJay get left out, especially with Penelope forced out but gotta shoehorn statlander into everything ever.

Love Nixon & Miranda together but they got fed to be destroyed, so I'm guessing that was a one and done for them being in Texas. Marina & Megan make an absolute killer powerhouse team.

If the match is 6 on 6 (I have no idea why it is as it feels like the Storm/Stat/Mercedes group is rather shoehorned in) then they either have to cut the "match beyond" part down to be more in line with the original War Games or things are gonna get absurdly long.

Blood & Guts match: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe), Roderick Strong, and Darby Allin will take on Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and Pac).

Blood & Guts match: Mercedes Mone, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue will go against Kris Statlander, Toni Storm, Harley Cameron, Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminata, and Willow Nightingale.

Definitely looking forward to the women's much more. Fuck the Death Riders.

wow so not only is Tony DOING a women's Blood & Guts but he's got every big hitter in there.  As he said on Twitter,  a lot of major feuds are converging into that one match.  Love it.  Really wasn't a need for the men to have one.

I'm guessing that whole episode of Dynamite will just be the two Blood & Guts matches.

Maybe a match in between. I'm calling it now, women's goes on last.
