Full Gear 2025 is looking great.

AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe.

AEW Women's World Champion Kris Statlander vs. Mercedes Mone.

AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido vs. FTR.

I'm especially looking forward to Brodido vs. FTR. That should be a MOTYC.

I mean, we're getting Takeshita vs Okada too, right?

Looks that way. I was just talking about confirmed matches.

For the third consecutive year Adam Page will face the same opponent he faced at AEW WrestleDream and AEW Full Gear.

Swerve Strickland at AEW WrestleDream 2023 and AEW Full Gear 2023.

Jay White at AEW WrestleDream 2024 and AEW Full Gear 2024.

Samoa Joe at AEW WrestleDream 2025 and AEW Full Gear 2025.

My first thought was Fezzik from The Princess Bride, but I’m an old and also never got into Dragonball/DBZ.

Not for nothing, but Joe would be WELL within his rights to leave Schiavone in a pool of his own blood next week.

I watched live (well, on a 5-10 minute delay after the opening segment and match)! I really enjoyed the action and the show in general.

I called the Sisters of Sin beating Hayter and Aminata with help from Thekla a week or two ago. They’re a somewhat established team, and Thekla and Hayter still have beef. Booking 101 too, next match Jamie stops Thekla from interfering. Also it was a good match, Skye and Aminata being real life besties means they have no problem getting a little stiff with each other.

Brodido and FTR will be a good match. Seems likely they’re going to have FTR win so that The Young Bucks can finish their face turn with a title win against their arch-rivals. Also, that Bandido segment was 🥹.

Feel bad for Penelope Ford, and also impressive she finished out that match! Not the least bit interested or excited about Marina. I know she’s improved from recklessly dangerous and sloppy to just kinda bad, but still…

Speaking of improved from recklessly dangerous and sloppy to just kinda bad, Hook and his boring song are back! Guess he was there to eat a submission and further a feud with someone who can carry him.

The short notice Blood and Guts with an angle that is just starting to reheat, combined with the total lack of build to the alleged Women’s B&G, is weird. For a hot minute, I was wondering if they were gonna do a mixed B&G with Marina and Willow. I like the idea of having the 2 matches (if they follow through) being split between Dynamite and Collision.

The Hangman as Schiavone bit was great. I honestly thought it might be the Dark Order in the inflatables, as more of a callback to 2021. I did notice that “Tony” looked a little puffier and had weird hair when he went back into the ring.

DCF meeting was mostly highlighted by the artwork, Mark Davis drinking out of a Solo cup the whole time, and Lance Archer’s commitment to dressing like he’s still Lance Hoyt in mid-00s TNA. Takeshita face turn is going to be glorious, and then he can have a blood feud with Kyle Fletcher since he’s proven to be such a fantastic heel

Okada is so ready to be this company’s top champion. This partnership with Callis is Perfect! Now, can we get him some respectable entrance music. How about some 1990s lounge revival!? That’d surely pop the crowd!

Blood & Guts isnt getting split up between Dynamite & Collision. They have a stand alone Colission taping the Saturday following B&G in a building far too small for the cage setup. I cant see them taping a second hour long cage match Wednesday night after Dynamite ends and inserting it into Collision either, because the  you're short changing that stand alone Collision taping.

It sure seems like they shifted away from the womens B&G match and if so that's a terrible decision. Death Riders / BCC have been a part of 3 B&G matches in a row now. Beyond tedious. Women's B&G would have been a lot more intriguing.

Maybe they do two B&G matches. But man that's overkill on one night. Even if one only goes a half hour and you squeeze a regular match or two between the one that goes long. Just not a way to structure it well (in my opinion).

Told ya!

I don't know why Joe would do that (guess I missed something) but Tony doing a bladejob would be the most massive heat in the history of the promotion. That would be like stabbing Jesus. (Okay, maybe that's a little hyperbolic, but you know what I mean) Actually thinking about it, somebody unmasking Ex would be similar, or just ripping it and having him bleed.

Why did they decide to do the Marina vs. Megan thing? They're both heels and don't have any reason to match up either. I guess it makes for an interesting fight but pretty out of nowhere. (Moxley being a goof about it was funny.)

Tacky, as Don called him, vs. Okada HAS to be ready after the tag. I was really expecting a Rainmaker instead of the middle finger but that was better.

I rewatched all the B&G matches when I got Triller a while back and let me tell you, they don't hold up.  Overlong and ridiculous.  The last one felt like it went forever after everyone was in.  It dragged so bad, and was so overindulgent with the bed of nails, etc.  Also, they used the same finish of at least one other B&G match, with someone submitting on behalf of someone else.  What I'm trying to say is that they need to tighten up B&G, and having two on one show is absolutely not the way.

I thought the first one was alright except for the way-too-long Paragon control section and bad finish.

I think the second one is a genuinely great match, especially considering Santana's knee exploded as soon as he came in and they had to adjust on the fly.

The two with the elite were some real turds with a few cool spots interspersed throughout, like Pac walking out on the BCC.

I will once again hammer the point that making these a de rigeur annual event takes away pretty much everything that makes them special.

Ah, okay, understood; I didn't know there was another version. Me personally I haven't got into Bronson, though I like his Vice show, and thought the song was a solid enough intro for somebody. Maybe I haven't listened to enough of his stuff. The Ghostface comparisons are pretty on-the-nose but... yeah. I can get into tribute stuff but sometimes it doesn't work. If you're a rapper you need to give me a hook. Maybe he can't help it. I still respect him.

Here's a thought: what if the finals of the women's tourney ends up in a bloodbath? Maybe they try and outdo or compare to that great tag with Britt Baker and the Bunny that did the same? That would be unexpected but some kind of replacement at least.

EDIT: I don't mean to say he's intentionally trying to bite Ghostface's vocal inflections, it might just be what it is. He isn't a tribute act even if he's influenced by Ghost. I LOVE some metal and punk tribute acts ripping off other bands completely which is what I meant by that. You would be amazed by the amount of shit that sounds just like Discharge in my collection.

Bronson had a good mixtape run but his albums are mostly one and dones for me. The Ghostface comparisons were really spot on at first, but like you said, what's music without showing your influence? The hook to me was the chef aspect.  Casually dropping culinary and wrestling references is a double whammy for me.

Dynamite was fun even if I fell asleep before the end. "Don of Finland has done it again " popped me good.

Men's B&G should be suitably sick but like everyone else, I'll be mad if the women's is dropped.  Maybe they'll shoehorn them into the men's match? I hope not but the Marina/Megan interaction gives me pause.

Honestly all of them bleed pun intended into each other. I thought the last one was the best but that's because I had tempered expectations and it's always nice to be pleasantly surprised. All were overlong. I fucking hate how they leave the cage. It's a bug bear of mine in steel cage matches, Hell in a Cell etc.

Either the second or last is the best but again they bleed no pun intended into each other.

Yeah there is no point in leaving the cage. Watch Magnum vs. Tully again, Coach T.

Just this would endear so much good will from me, personally. Please, wrestlers everywhere, stop leaving the cage in cage matches. That's the whole point, you can't leave. That's what makes them special. Please stop.

It was them becoming a team rather than them being against one another.  Since Penelope is injured, Megan said she'd find anyone else willing to step up for the tag tournament and then Marina showed up.

The pop will always be louder for Sammy getting thrown off the cage through a table than anything Sammy could have done in the cage. It needs to be the agents that set those guidelines because the boys are always gonna go for whatever will get the loudest reactions.

Not saying I disagree with you, I agree it would be wise to keep them in the cage at least like 75% of the time they do B&G matches. It would make that other 25% stand out that much more when they do get out and do some crazy stunt.

Yeah, I've never felt the way others do about Double Ring Cage matches. AEW's versions have been fine, some great highlight spots like any AEW match, with consistently awful finishes. (Outside of the story inconsitencies; which is an issue all over the shows) I couldn't care less if they do a Women's BNG match. It's not a participation ribbon, do the match when it makes sense. The cluster of ladies that were seemingly going to be entrants had some of the worst multi-person matches in AEW on the run up to Hayter announcing 'Blood N Guts'. No shade to Jamie who's been dragging good matches out of Skye, Julia, Jay, etc. Check out that embarrassing Tailgate Brawl from here in Toronto to see the brawling abilities of Skye, Julia, etc. The silver lining to this BNG Dynamite (no Collision) taping is - at least we'll avoid the god awful Royal Rampage Double Ring Battle Royal.

Cmon, the BCC-JAS Blood and Guts was easily the best!

I agree it doesn’t need to be an annual thing, and that this one is thrown together. I think they also made a mistake running the Women’s tournament concurrent with a women’s Blood and Guts, since the women’s roster isn’t really deep enough for both. I’m far more interested in the tournament (which could also have served as a vehicle to truly build to a B&G.

Allegedly, ticket sales for Greensboro are really slow. Now, there’s a chicken or egg situation where is it because there isn’t a live audience interest in a Women’s Blood and Guts, or is it because AEW hasn’t given the audience a reason to be interested.

Last night, I saw it in Takeshita. He doesn't need the DCF, it looked like they were going to turn him right then and there. He's ready for the top spot, now.
