RIPPA Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 Just to possibly throw cold water on things - it’s possible the reason this happened now was because Grier wanted to fire McDaniel and was told no Again there are several reports that Ross adores McDaniel
supremebve Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 I've said this in previous weeks, but firing McDaniel is 100% justified, but I don't believe he's the biggest issue with t he Dolphins. His offense works, but it's built around a quarterback who is physically limited and completely unreliable when things don't go perfectly. Firing McDaniel and keeping Tua is the most likely outcome, but it's probably the wrong choice. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 31, 2025 Author Posted October 31, 2025 The issue is, kinda like Cleveland, they're stuck with a QB they probably don't want any more. And certainly not at that price. The Dead Cap hit if they cut Tua after this season is north of $90 million. Since it drops to a much more acceptable low-mid 20's figure if he's cut after 6/1/27, he's probably staying for at least another year. Unless there's a team that's desperate enough to trade for him. That all said, if they are where I expect them to be during the 2026 draft, I'm fully expecting the new GM to make their signature move picking someone like Carson Beck or LaNorris Sellers (even though, the 'correct' pick is whichever the biggest, meanest RT is)

I get it, they are behind the eight ball with Tua's contract, but firing the coach that can build a capable offense around his limitations probably isn't the answer. You'll get a new coach who probably will be worse for Tua, and then fire him in a couple years. Seriously, if you fire him, some team will hire him immediately to run their offense. I don't think Tua would be a realistic starter for any other team going forward. It sucks, but it's dumb to sell off assets to pay for liabilities. 1
Chaos Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 (edited) Meanwhile, Cowherd has the answer for the Dolphins.... *drumroll*.... Lane Kiffin! This isn't as weird a take as Stephen A's initial reaction today. Edited October 31, 2025 by Chaos

RIPPA Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 The Fins asking price for Jaylen Waddle is reportedly a first round pick “and more” so he isn’t getting traded

If a playoff team feels they need a WR, at least Waddle has long term value. Shaheed and Meyers are both FA after this year so they would be three month rentals. Olave has one more year but who knows if he'll hold out/want a long term contract since he's still on his rookie deal. Waddle on the other hand isn't a free agent until 2029, so if a team sees Waddle not only has a short-term fix but also a long-term fix, a 1st and a 3rd or something like that I don't think would be a bad deal. Course if they want 2 1sts and a 2nd that's a different.
SirFozzie Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Well, hell of a way to start the Bears-Bengals game
Contentious C Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Man, I turned on NE/ATL and kinda laughed at it, but that changed fast.

hammerva Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 (edited) Packer fans and Steelers fans must have a meeting to deal with most weeks being a heart attack waiting to happen. Especially against teams that shouldn't be on their level. Hell even this game the Steelers had to make it difficult. Luckily we did get vintage Danny Dimes Edited November 2, 2025 by hammerva
