Please tell me this kicker just started kicking a week ago and they had no other choice

You aren't that far off

Jude Mcatamney was a Gaelic football player who came to the states for college. First kicked in Division II and then transferred to Rutgers were he was so bad on kicks that Rutgers demoted him to kickoff duty only

But because he went to Rutgers he was destined to be a Giant. They signed him as part of that International Player Pathway that the NFL does. So they caried him on the practice squad all last season. Then Graham Gano got hurt (again) this season and the Giants made him placekicker.

He has missed 3 extra points this season and hasnt attempted a FG longer than 31 yards.

I just *knew* when they missed that final extra point they were gonna lose. Will Lutz is automatic. And that defense was beyond gassed. I hate football.

I guess I should be thankful they were able to score in the last two minutes. Thats a new development for The Giants. The Giants of old never would have been able to make it down the field.

The core pieces are in place for a good team. But they wont progress without getting the kicker shit figured out and a better secondary / better WRs.

But hey Jaxson Dart appears to be legit. Skattebo too. So its not all bad. That Dart / Skat / Leek combo next year gonna hopefully be in the mix.

Hate all revenge soon.

Normally you would just say that they are just waiting for the bye but Miami's bye isn't until Week 12

I'm not defending Mike McDaniel in any way, he is not doing a great job, but I honestly think Tua is the biggest problem in Miami.  The entire offense is built for him to the point that when he gets injured no one else seems to be able to run it.  They're at the point where they can't keep playing a dude who throws back breaking interceptions, throws his receivers into big hits and then gets in front of the media and blames others.  It's one thing to be bad, but it's a whole other thing to be the reason the team loses and not take any accountability.

I think a big part of Miami's problem, based on what I've read from people who watch way more football than me and understand it way better is that McDaniel is too tightly tied to his tendencies/or those are the only plays he trusts Tua to run in certain situations. So he's basically been calling the same three or four plays on 3rd and medium for instance since he got there. Which makes it easy to recognize and jump routes, compounding Tua's weaknesses.

As for Tua himself... He's definitely not great and doesn't look like a guy you can win with. But it's also hard to ignore just how bad they've been every time he's gotten hurt.

From what I understand, the entire offense is based around Tua's limitations.  Fist they can't block, and Tua isn't the kind of quarterback you want to stand tall in the pocket and stare down the pass rush.  Tua doesn't have the arm strength to throw downfield or to the sidelines, so everything is crossing the middle of the field where he can get the ball out fast, throw relatively short passes and the receivers can get separation between zones and run after the catch.  The problem with that is that the quarterback has to be decisive and has to be accurate.  He hasn't really been either lately. Not only that, almost every defense can play well if they don't have to defend outside the numbers or more than about 15 yards downfield.  So, if he's a split second late or if they get off schedule, he's throwing it into the most crowded part of the field.  The margin of error is miniscule.  The offense is kind of designed to make the game as easy as possible for Tua, but it also makes the game as easy as possible for the defense if he's not 100% on time.

Meanwhile, in the last week or so I've literally had 4-5 people come over and speak to me in hushed, sotto voce tones as if I lost a loved one in a public, horrible tragedy, just from wearing a Jets hoodie. This is fine.
