OC vs Pac is AEW's best matchup because deep down we all want to see Bugs Bunny vs John Wick.

I wish Dr D David Shultz run lasted longer in the WWF. Most of those TNT segments were brutal besides the Fuji Vice stuff. David Shultz segments on TNT was really good and it made me believe he could be mean at home. As a worker,  he was definitely top 5 in my opinion. After watching his Stampede work. I wish he got to work Bret and the Bulldogs after they built more tenure in the company.

Why didn't Crockett pick him up?

Crockett wasn't hurting for heels, so not really worth taking a risk on someone who assaulted a national news reporter and already had a lawsuit hanging over his head. Schultz wearing swastika shirts and saying his opponents had AIDS like he did to heat up a match against Jerry Lawler made him even more radioactive. Considering Crockett (via Dusty) once stopped tape due to Cornette referencing the Challenger disaster on a promo and said "never, ever do that again" a year later, there was no way they were touching Schultz.

I’m pretty sure the WWE doesn’t have footage of untelevised MSG cards in a vault but take your pick between these 1980 cards if they did

Quote

WWF @ New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden – February 18, 1980
This card was not televised
Austin Idol defeated Jose Estrada at 7:26 (Idol’s only MSG appearance)
Tommy Rich defeated Johnny Rodz at 7:41 (Rich’s only MSG appearance)
Hulk Hogan defeated WWF Tag Team Champion Tito Santana via count-out at 10:48
Sika defeated WWF Tag Team Champion Ivan Putski via count-out at 5:28
Bobby Duncum defeated Dominic DeNucci at 11:21
WWF World Champion Bob Backlund defeated Ken Patera via count-out at 15:37; Pat Patterson was the special referee for the bout
Afa defeated Rene Goulet at 9:18
Cowboy Lang & Lone Eagle defeated Little Tokyo & Dirty Morgan at 6:55
Tony Atlas defeated Hussein Arab at 12:18

WWF @ New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden – June 16, 1980 (20,000+)
This card was not televised
Johnny Rodz defeated Steve King (sub. for Baron Mikel Scicluna) at 13:18
Bobby Duncum defeated Rick McGraw at 9:26
Hulk Hogan pinned Gorilla Monsoon at 3:04
Larry Zbyszko defeated WWF World Champion Bob Backlund when the bout was stopped due to blood at 27:39
Ivan Putski (sub. for Dusty Rhodes) defeated Tor Kamata at 3:17
WWF IC Champion Ken Patera defeated Pat Patterson at 17:42
Rene Goulet defeated Larry Sharpe via disqualification at 7:52
WWF Tag Team Champions the Wild Samoans defeated Dominic DeNucci & Ivan Putski at 14:38

WWF @ New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden – December 8, 1980 (20,011)
This card was not televised; John Lennon was shot and killed in NYC this same night
Johnny Rodz defeated Sylvano Sousa at 10:49
The Moondogs defeated Rick McGraw & Angel Marvilla at 11:37
Larry Zbyszko defeated Dominic DeNucci via count-out at 12:42
WWF Tag Team Champions Rick Martel & Tony Garea defeated the Wild Samoans in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match at 26:27, 2 falls to 1
Ernie Ladd fought Tony Atlas to a double count-out at 5:24
Pedro Morales defeated WWF IC Champion Ken Patera to win the title at 18:51; Pat Patterson was the guest referee for the bout
Bruno Sammartino defeated Sgt. Slaughter via count-out at 18:38

Idol and Rich working openers is probably a fun curiosity. The crowd is probably molten for Larry/Backlund with Larry in the middle of the Bruno feud. If there was any footage for June 1980, we would have seen Hogan/Monsoon. Bruno vs Slaughter sounds like it would have been a good one on paper. Also suspect that we would have seen something if there was footage of an IC title switch.

That June card sounds the best out of the lot but seeing another IC title change is definitely a higher priority.

I said John, brother, let's stay inside and party here dude.  But he insisted on going out.  That nasty stinky Chapman took a few shots at me, brother, but they bounced right off the 24 inch pythons, jack.  Lennon would've been fine if he'd trained, said his prayers, and ate his vitamins dude.

John Lennon was murdered by Mark David Chapman, 8th December 1980. My late great Mum was born 8th December 1960. I love and miss you, Mum. Paul xxx.

Yes, Tracy Chapman hypothetically murdering Hulk Hogan would be fun but let's be serious...

From now on, "Fast Car," is going to be about trying to flee the scene of Hulk Hogan's murder.

one takeaway from watching some of the Ravens Flock video on the vault... while I can understand why it didn't work out, Stevie Richards did have some amusing chemistry with Mean Gene

Stevie could have been a solid color commentator on a B Show in WCW if he wanted to have a job while not wrestling. Stevie Richards/Mike Tenay is probably the best pairing since Tenay is easily the WCW commentator who watched the most ECW television

Stevie Richards, the lovable loser character, played his role in ECW perfectly. He was underserved during his short WCW run, and totally forgotten in his WWE run. [the RTC/Steven Richards character i didn't like as much, but saw his most success.] "Stevie Night Heat" was a treasure. i haven't seen his TNA "Dr. Stevie" stint but i am looking forward to it.

i also like his podcast, albeit in short youtube vids rather than a full hour+ sitting. He just seems like such a genuinely good dude.

Stevie probably could have done well for himself if "watch me play video games" was a thing 25-30 years ago like it is today, right? or am I misremembering the "video game store" living he made for himself

also there was probably some Stevie/Tenay interactions in TNA that I never actually watched, right?

Raven, Stevie, Meanie and anybody except the Nazi twins had to be so much better than Raven and fucking *sigh* Scotty Riggs and Sick Boy and Van Hammer and Reese and Horace and (UGH) Lodi. (Kidman, Saturn, and Kanyon don't count of course) I don't care if they were lesser Dudley brothers or just jobbers, it couldn't be worse. Couldn't be.

"Mark David Chapman got caught because I hit him with the big boot, brother. They arrested him before I could drop the leg"

wrestling angle idea that would probably be hated: an AI manager who only exists in backstage promos who eventually brings in real wrestlers and eventually the person controlling the AI manager is revealed (maybe it'll be like the Dangerous Alliance and that person is gonna use AI to destroy the WWE)

well, they kinda did that with the Anonymous Raw GM angle

but the only company that likes managers enough to give them consistent airtime is AEW and I suspect that AEW is less likely to do that gimmick than the WWE
