C'mon, that's a bit harsh as the guy lays in his hospital bed. Not of course disputing the quality of that match, but he was also working thru injuries. Sounds like he worked his ass off to get back this last time, and I'm sure he'll do the same again.

I wouldn't want people watching it and feeling sad. It's also an illustration to heal up properly instead of gutting it out. It's why I made a second post after saying how unfortunate Kota Ibushi has been with major injuries in such a short space of time.

Sorry ol chum, makes sense, I was being a bit too reactive there. Just saddened by the news and wanting to send out good vibes.

Never watch Kota Ibushi vs. Naomichi Marufuji from NOAH The New Year 2024. It's one of the worst matches I've ever seen and one of the saddest as well. It's that bad. Ibushi is so shot.

Imagine what a banger that would've been in 2007, though.

Ibushi had a good match with Okada on Dynamite a couple months back, I was kinda hoping that would be a high note for him to go out on. 🙁

Aye, it would have.

I also was hoping his match with Kazuchika Okada on AEW Dynamite was one to bow out on a high note.

I don't know a ton about the Try Guys but I know enough that if they're going to use the one that cheated on his wife blowing the whole thing up, they should bring him in as a heel, not palling around with Angelico and Serpentico.

Ibushi/Trent was really fucking good, I thought.

As someone who was there live, it was great little match. And nice to see Ibushi live at least once.

I have no idea who or what a "Try Guy" is and I'm not going to bother looking. I'm going to just assume they're internet asshats, but not as popular as Logan Paul, who don't belong in AEW.

I know exactly one thing about the try guys: one of them cheated on his wife and everyone hates him now.  And I learned that against my will.

Now if he ditches Angelico and Serpentico to hook up with a better tag team? Then we're talking, baby.

Ned isn’t in the Try Guys anymore. He cheated on his wife with a co-worker at their company, and blew up his marriage. They kicked him out.

Less famous than Logan Paul? Yeah, most definitely. They’re just YouTubers that do shit like eat the whole menu of a fast food place, or go to Super Mario World on mushrooms, or do cooking competitions without a recipe. Also pretty left leaning if that helps.

No clue why Ned was booked for ROH (I thought I heard it was a dark match, not for HonorClub, but I’m not sure). I know he’s local to Jacksonville, but I’m pretty sure he’s never even had training. I doubt it’s for social media content on his end too, because the asshat started a podcast with his ex-wife to talk about their problems (that he created).

They’re not heels?

Books are used less than people meters and now big data or whatever the hell it’s called.

I don’t even know if I should even get into the people meter experience again, but it might be less reliable than an old filling out one of those books that come with a $1 bill. The last time I described the entire experience someone asked if I was legally allowed to talk about that and honestly, I didn’t know. However, it’s absolutely miserable and not the least bit accurate.

I was going to be a book person in like 2014 since it was the first time I was living solo and I had cable in forever. I got an intro book with a $5 bill inside and started filling it out and at some point I was like: this is a lot of work for little money.

For what its worth Nielsen ratings aren't worth discussing for AEW anymore due to the fact that they aren't factoring in Max simulcast viewings, so we'll truly never know the true viewership.

Take it for what it's worth, but Dave Meltzer said on yesterday's Observer show that the new Nielsen measurement system will start factoring in HBO Max simulcasts next year.

Cracking up at the thought of Orange Cassidy breaking up a potential locker room fight by just standing between the guys and doing the hands in pocket kick sequence

This is still one of my favourite AEW moments:

Wait, are there an unusual number of hot chicks competing in NXT?

...asking for a friend.

You can tell your friend that I'd say very much the usual amount. Which is to say quite a lot, at least early this year. They must have purged a bunch of people since then.
