RIPPA Posted November 2, 2025 Author Posted November 2, 2025 Now that the offseason has officially started - decisions on options must be made 5 PM EST on Thursday, Nov 6 Not counting the folks who instantly said they were declining their options (Ex: Pete Alonso and Clay Bellinger) - the first person I have see make a decision is Michael King declining his half of a mutual option with the Padres

Cobra Commander Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Randal Grichuk opting out of his mutual option for $5m so he can get a $3m buyout

Cobra Commander Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 although in the case of Grichuk, he also had a 1 for 30 stretch in August/September where he accumulated those 31 PAs in 15 games also, the Royals likely would have turned down the mutual option too
RIPPA Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 I am updating my post as I see them which reminds me that its my favorite time of the year Jon Heyman posts news three hours after a local guy does and then tries to take credit for breaking a story 1 3
Cobra Commander Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 and the next Braves manager is Walt Weiss, who has been their bench coach since 2018
odessasteps Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 17 minutes ago, Cobra Commander said: and the next Braves manager is Walt Weiss, who has been their bench coach since 2018 61 year old Walt Weiss. /turnstodust 1
RIPPA Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 Weiss is still probably the best ballplayer to come out of my home county (so of course I let me Mom and sister know and my Mom was thrilled) 1
RIPPA Posted November 4, 2025 Author Posted November 4, 2025 I updated the option post It includes the two step decline that makes Shota Imanaga a FA
RIPPA Posted November 4, 2025 Author Posted November 4, 2025 The Orioles have acquired Andrew Kittredge from the Cubs for cash The assumption is that obviously Baltimore will now pick up the $9 million dollar option that Kittredge has for 2026
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Yu Darvish had UCL repair surgery last week and is done for 2026.
Cobra Commander Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Kyle Wright is being put on waivers by the Royals after a stint in KC where he was mostly injured and didn't play in the Majors
Contentious C Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 The Tigers are re-upping with Jack Flaherty for $20M, so I think that either puts to bed the rumors they offered Skubal that much a year or makes them true and utterly fucking batshit.
Cobra Commander Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 Salvy's 2026 team option for 13.5m turns into an extension through 2027. He made $22M in 2025

Ehh.... They didn't resign him - Flaherty could have opted out. He chose not to When he signed with the Tigers last season - his 2026 salary was originally supposed to be $10 million but because he made 15 starts, it became $20 million (thus probably why he decided to not opt out)
Contentious C Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 Oh, so the Tigers could still be an absolute tire fire of mismanagement. Cool cool.
odessasteps Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Kenta Maeda returning to Japan next year.
RIPPA Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 Looking at the list of folks who haven't had options decisions yet - looks like the biggest names are roughly (in no oder) Brandon Lowe (Club) Max Muncy (Club) Justin Turner (Mutual) Pete Fairbanks (Club)
