Reportedly he was involved in a bad traffic accident in Venezuela on Oct 5 and passed away from his injuries over the weekend

Apparently SD may be interviewing Pujols too.

I don't know if it got mentioned but the Orioles definitely want Pujols too

So I don't know what the fuck is going on in Anaheim

I no sooner post that and Jon Heyman drops the report that Pujols is out of the Angels search

Quote

Albert Pujols won’t be the next manager of the Angels, according to a report from Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Heyman writes that Pujols and the club have broken off talks due to differences between the sides regarding “coaches, resources, and compensation.” The Athletic’s Sam Blum reports that while circumstances could change, it’s believed to be “very unlikely” that the sides find common ground after being unable to get close in terms of dollars and years on hypothetical contract.

For reasons unknown (at least at the moment) - Torii Hunter is also out of the running to be the next Angels manager

I haven't even watched the trailer yet and I'm already interested:

I just watched the trailer for that. I have never been an A-Rod fan. I may have yelled some shit at him in 2016 at the WS broadcast set...

The trailer makes me feel bad for doing that because it actually looks like he learned more than you'd expect him to learn from his mistakes and is actually contrite. My quick thought after watching it was, "man...I think A-Rod might be a solid dude now."

I'm also waiting and hoping to hear that David Ross will manage the Braves.

Rossy got dealt a really shitty hand by Jed and Tom. He's a good manager and should get another shot. Honestly, I would rather have him than Counsell.

the Giants next manager might be.... Tony Vitello.... who is the head coach of the University of Tennessee Volunteers baseball team, and who has never played or coached in the Major Leagues

In other news, guess why the Giants are gonna be firing Tony Vitello in 2 1/2 years

I still cannot believe Adam Pearce turned "It is official" into his catchphrase. But...

Well now we know why Albert Pujols wasn't thrilled with the contract the Angels were offering

Kurt Suzuki's contract is for... one year

And it was made cleared that Suzuki is tied to GM Perry Minasian who only has one year left on his deal

So yes - Arte Moreno is gonna get his wish. He won't have to pay a GM or a manager during the lockout

The Yankees have fired....

Spoiler

TV analyst John Flaherty

And to just be pedantic about the wording...  the 20 year veteran Flaherty will not be offered a new contract.

So the Twins decided that they needed the cheapest, whitest person they could find in a new manager

Depending on who you believe, Detroit's offer was 600 for 7-10 years or 90 for 2-3 years.

Someone's lying or the Tigs are run by a literal group of clowns.

Oh good lord...  @Tabe you'd better get used to seeing Skubal in a different uniform.

Detroit's offer (according to Jon Heyman) was south of 4/80.

Once the Dodgers lose tomorrow night, 80 is probably going to be their offer per year.

There's no way that's legit. Not a chance.

Heyman's source is Scott Boras because Heyman is Boras mouth piece so take that for what its worth

I said what I said. The team that pays Javy Baez over $23m a year isn't offering the best (or second-best) pitcher in baseball less than $20m.
