odessasteps Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Apparently SD may be interviewing Pujols too.
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2025 Author Posted October 20, 2025 Just now, odessasteps said: Apparently SD may be interviewing Pujols too. I don't know if it got mentioned but the Orioles definitely want Pujols too So I don't know what the fuck is going on in Anaheim
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2025 Author Posted October 20, 2025 I no sooner post that and Jon Heyman drops the report that Pujols is out of the Angels search Quote Albert Pujols won’t be the next manager of the Angels, according to a report from Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Heyman writes that Pujols and the club have broken off talks due to differences between the sides regarding “coaches, resources, and compensation.” The Athletic’s Sam Blum reports that while circumstances could change, it’s believed to be “very unlikely” that the sides find common ground after being unable to get close in terms of dollars and years on hypothetical contract.
Cobra Commander Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 "No, you can't pay me less and insist the payments from my player contract make up the rest" 1
RIPPA Posted October 21, 2025 Author Posted October 21, 2025 For reasons unknown (at least at the moment) - Torii Hunter is also out of the running to be the next Angels manager
RIPPA Posted October 21, 2025 Author Posted October 21, 2025 The Angels are going with Kurt Suzuki as manager

I have never been an A-Rod fan. I may have yelled some shit at him in 2016 at the WS broadcast set... The trailer makes me feel bad for doing that because it actually looks like he learned more than you'd expect him to learn from his mistakes and is actually contrite. My quick thought after watching it was, "man...I think A-Rod might be a solid dude now." 1
Craig H Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I'm also waiting and hoping to hear that David Ross will manage the Braves. Rossy got dealt a really shitty hand by Jed and Tom. He's a good manager and should get another shot. Honestly, I would rather have him than Counsell.

Tony Vitello.... who is the head coach of the University of Tennessee Volunteers baseball team, and who has never played or coached in the Major Leagues In other news, guess why the Giants are gonna be firing Tony Vitello in 2 1/2 years I still cannot believe Adam Pearce turned "It is official" into his catchphrase. But...
RIPPA Posted October 23, 2025 Author Posted October 23, 2025 Well now we know why Albert Pujols wasn't thrilled with the contract the Angels were offering Kurt Suzuki's contract is for... one year And it was made cleared that Suzuki is tied to GM Perry Minasian who only has one year left on his deal So yes - Arte Moreno is gonna get his wish. He won't have to pay a GM or a manager during the lockout
Cobra Commander Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 Baltimore has a new manager. Craig Albernaz, a coach from Cleveland
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 The Yankees have fired.... Spoiler TV analyst John Flaherty And to just be pedantic about the wording... the 20 year veteran Flaherty will not be offered a new contract.
Cobra Commander Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 cross Miguel Cairo off the list for the Nationals job Rocco Baldelli and the Dodgers bench coach got mentioned for the Nats job
RIPPA Posted October 29, 2025 Author Posted October 29, 2025 So the Twins decided that they needed the cheapest, whitest person they could find in a new manager Derek Shelton come on down
Cobra Commander Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 "Derek, you've dealt with bad ownership before"

Someone's lying or the Tigs are run by a literal group of clowns. Oh good lord... @Tabe you'd better get used to seeing Skubal in a different uniform. Detroit's offer (according to Jon Heyman) was south of 4/80. Once the Dodgers lose tomorrow night, 80 is probably going to be their offer per year.

RIPPA Posted October 30, 2025 Author Posted October 30, 2025 That's one way to not have to pay your manager anything
