Cobra Commander Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Royals retaining their hitting coach after having the 5th lowest runs total
RIPPA Posted September 30, 2025 Author Posted September 30, 2025 The Angels actually managed to fire two managers at once They told Ron Washington and Ray Montgomery that neither will be brought back next season
Cobra Commander Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 also in the eyes of Baseball-Ref and likely other sites, the entire season will be credited to Washington.. which might be good for Montgomery's future job prospects

RIPPA Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 The Braves will not bring Brian Snitker as manager He is "transitioning into an advisory role" The team did announce they will induct him into their Hall of Fame sometime during next year
RIPPA Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 The Rockies and GM Bill Schmidt have parted ways Schmidt and the team say it was mutual but the local media says "No, Schmidt was fired" Colorado has said they will hire someone "from outside the organization" which basically they have never done before
RIPPA Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 The Angels will interview Albert Pujols for the manager job and many expect him to be the front runner
CSC Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I've sat here for like 10 minutes to figure out the right words to reply to that, but complete silence sitting somewhere between crying and laughing maniacally is about all I can come up with. 1
RIPPA Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 Pretty much every Mets coach is gone via either not getting their contract renewed, firing, retiring or resigning
Cobra Commander Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 "have been invited back for the 2026 season" implies that some of the retain coaches might just ghost the Mets and leave their jobs too
Cobra Commander Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 as expected, Skip Schumaker is the Rangers new manager
RIPPA Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 Brett Phillips announced his retirement He hasn't played in the bigs since 2023 but had kicked around the minors and independents for a bit trying to get back (including a attempt to convert to a pitcher)
RIPPA Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 Apparently the Giants are only considering former catchers for their managerial opening as so far the two "top" candidates are Nick Hundley and Kurt Suzuki Also they are going to interview (if the reports are to be believed) Cleveland's bench coach Craig Albernaz who, while he never made the bigs, was a catcher in the minors

Honestly, who is the last Angels manager that you can confidently say was either good or bad? The Angels are going to Angel no matter who is the manager.

I know if feels like forever ago but Mike Sciocia only left in after the 2018 season But since that time they clearly curse managers who had success elsewhere - Brad Ausmus and Joe Maddon specifically. Fuck even Wash was successful with the Rangers But if I was to confidently answer you - Phil Nevin was bad

odessasteps Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I’ve done an exhaustive searchn and the best candidate is … ,me. 1

RIPPA Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Ed and I were just talking about Sciocia recently - mainly it was a little surprising he didn't come back But he got the Olympic Team gig right after "retiring" and then flipped to coaching the National Softball team so those are probably paying decent money for far less of a grind
