Dolfan in NYC Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 I guess this time you're really leaving... I heard your suitcase say goodbye. Well, as my broken heart lies bleeding... Boy All Out sure was crazy! New champs! New rivalries! And craziest of all... Mark Briscoe won a match! You say true love, it's suicide. You say you've cried a thousand rivers and now you're swimming for the shore... And since I mentioned a new champ... Kris Statlander is your NEW AEW Women's Champion! She celebrated by having a small reunion: You left me drowning in my tears and you won't save me anymore... I'm praying to God you'll give me one more chance, girl! This week! We begin our way to Dreamland as Wrestledream is a mere 4 weeks away! ("New Jersey" is a wildly underrated album. Like point to a hair metal album that as a whole is better (yes, yes, Appetite)...) Enjoy the week! 1
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Woha, hair metal albums better than "New Jersey?" I'm going to do some thinking and edit later. Also, love you casually throwing "Appetite..." out as hair metal. A lot of people bristle at that but it's got elements in common for sure. 2
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Okay, I'm gonna say these three albums are better, in my book, while also saying "Bad Medicine" is so good. This one guy at karaoke got up and did it. I was shit faced and thought he was the best fucking singer ever. I told everyone at work how good he was and a bunch of us went out the next night. I was not drunk. The guy was lip syncing! Very embarrassing. Thankfully someone sang Meatloaf next and everything was good. Anyway: Def Lep-Hysteria Skid Row- S/T David Lee Roth-Eat em and smile I wanted to list Hanaoi Rocks but can't remember an album just singles. Vinnie Vincent Invasion's self-titled is a contender 1
AxB Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 (edited) Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes is the first Hanoi Rocks album. Two Steps From The Move is the fifth. That's the better one, it's got Million Miles Away on it. Edited September 23, 2025 by AxB 1
Curt McGirt Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I have absolutely no dog in this game but Too Fast for Love would win this to me, if I was qualified to participate. 2

The Natural Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 When I read the topic title, I thought the song reference was the Friends theme. I suck at music. 4 1 1
The Natural Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Tony Khan's important announcement will be AEW Women's Tag Team Championship or Blood and Guts. Might it be the first female one? If I ran a promotion, I'd have six championships only: Men's World Championship. Men's Secondary Championship. Intercontinental probably. Men's World Tag Team Championship. Women's World Championship. Women's Secondary Championship. Intercontinental probably. Women's World Tag Team Championship. --- Looking forward to Orange Cassidy's return. 1

NikoBaltimore Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I should be ashamed to say this but I honestly thought Dolfan was using the Friends theme. Bon Jovi one is a much better choice. Also, Appetite is indeed a hair metal album. 3 1 1

NikoBaltimore Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I didn't see others mentioned it too so that's kinda reassuring. I guess this means one day the title can be used again and this time it'll lead to a TV opening theme battle. That is of course if Dolfan wishes to have things go off the rails before the show starts. 1

I heard the song "Hysteria" recently and was shocked at how much of it's DNA is in War on Drugs. That, and Rod Stewart's "Young Turks". 3

War on Drugs is a band that I'm almost positive i would like but have never listened to. Where should I start?

All I've ever had is an OG Elektra pressing (within arm's reach on a shelf here). 1
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I snagged a Leathur pressing once. Loved it. I still want to hear it on the box set they put out. 1
Curt McGirt Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 In case anybody wants to hear it Soon as I read it was a full different recording and missing a song I was like "okay right now" 2

Technico Support Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 (edited) On the hair metal tip, my friends and I were drinking back in the high school days and one of them spied the album Look What the Cat Dragged In on the floor and fawned over the "hot women" on the cover. He never lived it down. Not as bad as the time a different drunk friend complimented another friend's sister's "development." Said sister was probably in 8th grade at the time. ExcellenceofAirPollution Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Hangman v. Lee Moriarty, Brodido vs. GOA for the tag titles and Claudio vs. Powerhouse Hobbs added to the lineup They're in Pittsburgh, hope we get a hot crowd 1

Totally in the War on Drugs DNA. Canada's Red Rider is another clear reference. When 'Lost in a Dream' came out I was around a lot of ppl who despised it. Often scoffing at said references, but I was totally with it. I've failed to connect to any of their work before or after, but I still dig that one album thoroughly. 2

Beavis and Butthead had a whole thing talking about “these chicks are hot” while watching a Poison video. (Also an album I have). 1 2
HarryArchieGus Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Quote * AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa * AEW World Tag Team Championships Match: Brodido (c) vs. Gates of Agony * Hangman Page vs. Lee Moriarty * Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Claudio Castagnoli * Mark Briscoe, Hologram and TBD vs. Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita & Hechicero * We’ll hear from FTR * Tony Khan has an important announcement on AEW Dynamite Womens Tag Titles? FTR! OC returns in what looks like a real Trios barnburner! I bet Hanger gives Moriarty as much as he possibly can. I like GOA getting a shot at Brodido after their PPV win (even if it was trios). So goddamn stoked for Claudio-Hobbs. Stat-Mina sounds like fun. Dry Cleaning is here tonight in Toronto, so watching this one on glorious tape delay. 1
