🎼 You were a child crawlin' on your knees toward it... Makin' mama so proud, but your voice is too loud...

Well, we've apparently got a new feud here as Gabe "Shang Tsung" Kidd wants some souls?

🌲 We like to watch you laughin', you pick the insects off plants, no time to think of consequences...

Meanwhile, everyone seems to be preoccupied with what Mox was telling Daniel before his match..

GzuZOw1WAAAbgAq?format=jpg&name=small

Garcia's look of disgust clearly indicates that Moxley was telling him how good Skyline Chili is and he should just give it a chance.

🎹 Control yourself, take only what you need from it.  A family of trees wantin' to be haunted...

And here's what's on tap for this week...

And Mox/Garcia on Saturday~!  Who needs college football when you've got Mox!

(This video rules because I have no idea how they didn't traumatize this 2 year old forever.)

Enjoy the week!

Apparently it's about/ inspired by Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone. The one singer from an early 90s Seattle band who managed to die before/ instead of becoming massively famous.

That's interesting to know. Of course, this is the song about Andrew Wood I'm familair with:

I don't even think people from Cinci like Cincinnati Chili. It's the most disgusting shit ever. Here, let's dump this soupy ass chili with spaghetti on top of a brick of Philadelphia cream cheese.

That is some hobo ass food. It would be like saying, oh, you have to try Atlanta chili and it's just Spaghetti-Os with cut up hot dogs mixed in dumped over a chunk of Velveta.

False, we love that shit.

The biggest "problem" with Cincinnati style chili to outsiders is that is not traditional "chili".  It is a Greek bolognaise sauce, and it is flavored with various spices like red pepper, cumin, and cinnamon. it isn't meant to be eaten like a soup - it is made to put on top of stuff. We put it on top of noodles and hot dogs.

That sounds like slop. It sounds exactly like something Charlie and Frank would eat in It's Always Sunny.

After finding out its Greek roots I not only love this but would love to try it somehow.

Great song, didn’t realize just how nonsensical the lyrics are.

MGMT has made some interesting career choices since debuting with a hit album and pair of hit singles. Their follow-up produced by Sonic Boom went outwards. I'm not the biggest fan, but respect their approach. Also, their Late Night Tales mix is pretty outstanding.

Gotta source? That makes very little sense, and my notes suggest this is untrue.

I've had Skyline once and I don't really remember it because well, partying,  but I've always respected it. Their "chili" is decent on a hot dog but I love a more traditional Coney sauce. A little sweeter, less chunky....right on top of a footlong with cheese and onions.

I love that they just went their own way after the success of Oracular Spectacular.  It would have been easy to make Part 2 but their path has been more interesting.  I don't listen to them much but I can respect it.

You can order it in cans. Not quite the same, but close enough.

I might give that a try one day.  I'm not expecting it to be amazing or anything but figure why the hell not.  Thanks.

I'm a big fan of Congratulations and have liked some stuff since, but never as much as that one.

Good shout on their Late Night Tales comp. I actually bought that record and play it a lot. Ended up getting into Television Personalities, The Chills and Spaceman 3 from hearing their tracks on there.

It used to be on Wikipedia with a citation, but it's not there now. And a quick google of people saying it, gives you people using Wikipedia as a source. I dunno. I'm sure they said it in a magazine interview somewhere, when the song was new.

I've never been to Detroit, and had a bonafide "Coney Island", but it appears to be very similar in appearance to Cincinnati Chili - we just put mountains of cheese on them, and call them "cheese coneys".

I think a lot of folks just get hung up on putting it on spaghetti, because they are used to a red tomato sauce on pasta, and it kinda looks like diarrhea.  That, and when they find out there is cinnamon/chocolate in it (depends on the recipe) they're expecting a sweet candy-like flavor, and that doesn't compute with pasta/beans/onions/cheese.  It's more like a watery chorizo sauce.

Wikipedia at the very least requires a follow up before passing something along as credible information. ‘According to Wikipedia’ is certainly fair tho. This Andrew Wood rumour seems to have been a made up perhaps by a Wikipedia updater. I mean it is possible but Wood and MGMT aren’t exactly a fit. Regardless, not sure perpetuating a rumour by assuming it was said in a random interview is such a good idea.

* AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Alex Windsor
* Hangman Page, Kenny Omega & Jetspeed vs. Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander & The Young Bucks

Looking forward to Windsor-Mone. Windsor’s looked very good since arriving, but this will certainly show where she’s at in the pecking order. All star 8 man seems incapable of being anything but pure pro wrestling joy. I expect Alexander-Omega coming out of this for the ppv - a local main event if there ever was one. Loving these arena shows, but could do with a couple less screens. I love the shots through the back of the arena they’ve been doing. I hope they do an in-ring ecw Style(s) opening for one of these shows. Wouldn’t mind some tributes too. Maybe it’s best left as a fantasy, but I wouldn’t say no to a Franchise appearance and profanity laced anti-WWE promo. Or maybe they could bring in Raven to properly crucify somebody.

Ive been re-reading Mox and he talks about Starline and the other brand like they're godlike. I don't get it, the whole thing sounds disgusting to me. But then, I haven't been able to eat hot dogs since I was 10 anyway, cuz they were all I'd eat up until then.

I still love a hot dog but nothing below the Nathans/Hebrew National line.  I want A grade snouts and anuses, not that Oscar Meyer shit.

There was, very briefly, a Skyline Chili restaurant in Madison and my one visit there made me think something has gone very wrong in Cincinnati.

As someone who lived their first 21+ years up north followed by 30 years in Texas, I can’t do chili discourse anymore.

In my shop, we had one of those Hotdog heaters. It was pretty disturbing to me, when I realised that HotDog sausages have such a low meat content that they don't need to be stored chilled. Just leave them room temperature, they won't go off.

Anyway, they added Yuta & Claudio vs Brodido for the Tag Titles to the show.

Love another chaotic opening segment, this one had a lot going on, digging anything giving ECW vibes here.

Mercedes/Windsor delivered the goods, I give a huge pop for the return of RIHO! When Mercedes attacked, I was wondering if Toni would save, then when the music hit I thought Mina at first and was shocked to realize it was Riho. Big welcome back after over a year long absence.  Briscoe/Archer was short but solid and the tag title match was fun.

Another wild FTR v. Cope/Christian brawl and then Adam Priest gets in the mix and a match for Collision!

Thought the main event was amazing. Awesome all star tag. the Hangman/Omega vs Bucks sequence towards the end was epic. Great team finishing stretch from the heels in victory. The ending beatdown killing the faces again had me dying for a Sandman save as I will hope for every week.

please! Two appearances I would mark out the most for, especially if we could get Douglas coming out to Perfect Strangers on TV.  they did Taz's honoring deal off-screen at his request, but I love that he comes out to War Machine.
