Cobra Commander Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Nationals DFA Nathaniel Lowe one day after he hit a grand slam
Craig H Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 NL WC is going to be, well, wild. For as much as the Cubs are collapsing, so are the Dodgers. And I don't think anyone should sleep on the Reds.
RIPPA Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 We have reached the point in the Mets collapse that the NY media has started wondering if Juan Soto is lying about his age
RIPPA Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 After 2 innings- the Reds were beating the Brewers 8-1 Midway through the 4th - it’s tied at 8
odessasteps Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 I hadn't been paying attention to relize Milwaukee had best record in the NL. More concerned with Pads moving into first place in the West.
odessasteps Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 Thats some hometown scoring going on in Houston.

This is, notably the second time they've done this in franchise history. In 2023 they blew a lead in 8 straight. Amazin' doesn't begin to cover it.
NikoBaltimore Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 Brandon Young was well on his way to a perfect game going into the 8th inning. Two outs, he catches the grounder, wildly misses to 1st and his chance of a perfect game is ended. And who was the Houston batter running to 1st? You guessed it, former Oriole Ramon Urias. Baseball can be full of some cruel, cruel twists of fate. But man was it wild. Also, I know the Orioles are done for the season but they are still fighting for any respect they can get. They deserve better than Elias as GM but I still believe in them. 1
NikoBaltimore Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Gah, Ramon Urias struck again tonight. Of all the trades this one so far stings the worst. I mean I'm happy for him and all but fucking hell. 1
hammerva Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 While I am sure that we will hate it when we have to deal with the Russo and hot take machine whine about it on Monday, I like that for this weekend they are allowing players to have their own bat designs. The Nats and Phillies had a few good ones with an alien covered one and one looking like a pencil

RIPPA Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 The Brewers set a single season franchise record with their 14th straight win Tops the record of the 87 team that opened the season with 13 straight Their franchise record is 16 straight but that was 86 into 87
RIPPA Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 Just wanted to mention that during last night's Little League game - Rob Manfred basically said they are proceeding with expansion He also basically said that "radical" realignment will happen (none of this is surprising). The reason I bring this up is because the internet is fucking lazy AND dumb - some how a random Jim Bowden proposal for how realignment would look is being thrown around as gospel (If you see mention of an division that is made up of Yanks, Mets, Red Sox and Phillies - that is why) As one could imagine - the discourse is infuriating

While I think any realignment is dumb, I'd rather be in the Lake Erie division with Toronto, Cleveland and Detroit over the current NL Central.
RIPPA Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 All Manfred said was that they wanted to align to "geographical" location more but as I said - the speculation is out of control Most folks are basing it on the usual 8 divisions, 4 teams in each that football started using You can easily keep most of the current AL and NL setups (though a lot depends on where the expansion teams actually are) You get more big market vs big market if you eliminate the current way the schedule is structured but I dont think that is happening either
RIPPA Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 Tommy Pham - because he is a lunatic - caused another incident last night He decided to bat flip after being walked and then started shit talking any Blue Jay he saw which emptied the benches Toronto was baffled since no one said a word to him Pham then said he did it because he didn't like Toronto catcher Tyler Heineman complain to the ump about balls and strikes
odessasteps Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 TIL Herbie the Love Bug was number 53 because of Don Drysdale. 2

Launch Manfred into deep space

RIPPA Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 The Orioles have extended Catcher Samuel Basallo to an 8 year extension worth $67 million Basallo has played... checks notes... 4 games in the bigs so far It is the largest pre-arb extension for a catcher with such little playing time He will probably play more 1B and DH than catch since a) Adley is already there and b) as a defensive catcher, you might as well play me there
RIPPA Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 With Josh Hader out for at least the rest of the regular season, the Astros have decided to sign up for the Craig Kimbrel experience
RIPPA Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 The Pirates Bubba Chandler recorded a four inning save in his major league debut He is the first player in franchise history to record a save in his major league debut and the first player in mlb history to record a four inning save in his debut
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 24, 2025 Author Posted August 24, 2025 Rob Manfred, who clearly understands why the Field of Dreams is a special place, has set up the 2026 return. Philadelphia vs. New York (NL)
Craig H Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 So I guess reports of the Cubs death were premature and the NL Central is a race again. What a wacky season. The Mets are doing their best to give the Reds the 3rd WC spot but who knows if the Reds actually want it.
