Dolfan in NYC Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Alright... let's just see how many people the Marlins traded THIS year!Β Β Well, Jesus Sanchez, but they have two big prospects ready to go.Β And... that's it?Β Hmm... okay.Β Anyway, here's Wonderwall Β
RIPPA Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Well apparently their asking price for Sandy Alcantara was outrageous Like they basically told the Yankees that if they deal didn't include Spencer Jones they weren't doing it It should be noted that Alcantara has been absolutely god awful this year
RIPPA Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Okay I dont have to worry about Marcus Stroman somehow getting enough IP to trigger his option anymore The Yanks just straight up released him 1 1
RIPPA Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Cubs will host the 2027 All Star Game It will be the 4th time the game has been held at Wrigley. (Last time was 1990) Of course we won't have a 2027 season so who knows when Wrigley will actually host a game
kenyabaxterZXW Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 https://x.com/ZackMeisel/status/1951376220333158705 The lockers for Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been cleared out in the Guardiansβ clubhouse.
RIPPA Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 Every new pitcher the Yanks acquired at the deadline came in and threw up all over themselves so that is swell
Cobra Commander Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 (edited) MLB taking lessons from wrestling promotions on where to put the field at the Motor Speedway EDIT: in the sense of having the field be on one side of the infield so that they don't have to use 1/3rd of the seating bowl Also there was a long-ass rain delay, which is very NASCAR-riffic Edited August 3, 2025 by Cobra Commander
Pete Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 And now they're playing in pouring rain. What a debacle this is turning into.
hammerva Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I have heard this called the MLB version of Fyter Fest which is unfair because at least there was a pre game.Β Β The best part was the Fox people talking about the game while the monitors are clearly saying it has been suspendedΒ
RIPPA Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 And the Marlins swept the Yankees for the first time in their historyΒ Somehow Aaron Boone will get an extension and raise 1

Then again, the Frances and NASCAR are probably delusional enough to think that way about MLB.
odessasteps Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Given the stereotype of MLB having an aging white male fan base, teaming w NASCAR makes sense.Β
Cobra Commander Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I'd suggest that those NASCAR-ized Braves hats are gonna sell, but for all I know, people have been buying knockoff versions of that design for years
Cobra Commander Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 Yankees lose after a gametying HR by a uberslumping Joc Pederson and allowing a walkoff HR after intentionally walking a guy with 2 outs
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Mason Miller threw an 103.9 MPH fastball last night Lourdes Gurriel Jr hit it for a HR It is the fastest pitch that has been hit for a HR since MLB started tracking in 2008
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Other random historical things The Brewers are 44-16 over their last 60 games. That is the best 60 game stretch they have had in team history The Athletics' Shea Langeliers became the fourth catcher in major league history to have two three-homer games in their career (Johnny Bench, Gary Carter and Travis d'Arnaud are the others)
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 They have an off day tomorrow I would say right now its 50/50 Boone loses his job after the game tonight If they lose - the number has to be 100% (For context - the Yanks are still in the final WC spot but the Rangers sweeping them would put Texas in that final spot)
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Red Sox and Roman Anthony are working on an extension 8 year contract that guarantees $130 million It covers 2026-2033 with a club option for 2034 The deal can max out at $230 million Buys out everything through his first two FA years Side note - this is basically how you can tell if a young player is repped by Scott Boras or not (ie: Boras clients rarely to never do these early extensions)
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 6, 2025 Author Posted August 6, 2025 Jen Pawol will be the first woman to umpire a MLB game this weekend in the Miami/Atlanta game.Β
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 The Jays swept the Rockies (no surprise) In the 3 game sweep - Toronto amassed 63 hits which is the most by a team in a 3 game series since 1900 The Jays totaled 45 runs which was a franchise record
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 When does Colorado get contracted by MLB

I don't see Hal making a change until Boone's contract is up, like Girardi, especially if the Yankees still make the playoffs.
RIPPA Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 The Yanks won't fire Boone (at least in season) because they are stupid They aren't keeping him because of his contract
