Have you not read the Nitro book?

One I want to get round to. Cheers.

One is written by a podcaster and the guy who runs the wrestlecrap site, the other is by a legit journalist and author.

Does it cover all of the history, the Guy Evans one? Cheers.

Natty, I would highly recommend the 'Death of the Territories' book.  Lots of interesting history in that one.

I'll also throw out recommendations for Gary Michael Cappetta and David Penzer's books for people interested in WCW

Cheers for the recommendations. Need to get some wrestling books again. Been a long time since I last read one.

one fun part of the 1995-97 Undertaker video on WWE Vault is how it also doubles as a "hey, Paul Bearer was pretty awesome too" once Paul turns heel. It's like "what if Percy Pringle was menacing" as opposed to him being a comedy-ish PP3 or doing the Paul Bearer voice for 5 years in a row as the dude who held the urn and handled most of the promos

the next installment of "Story of the Undertaker" really needs a heaping helping of Kane just being the Jason Voorhies of wrestling for nearly 6 months post-debut.

The Hangman Vs Death Riders storyline has gone on too long and doesn't interest me at all.

I like Hangman and would prefer to see him in a fued with MJF.

He kinda is, though? The Death Riders are focussed on Darby Allin now and last night's Dynamite ended with an MJF-Hangman brawl.

Just noticed (due to Spotify having her theme up) that Mariah May is now Blake Monroe. Okay, do get how you would want to capitalize on the most hated woman in popular culture at the moment Blake Lively's notoriety, but this would have been the perfect opportunity to use one of my ideas for a wrestling name in "Blake Deadly".

But yeah, I also understand that Monroe refers to some old timey lady that the cancelled shock artist Marilyn Manson lifted his first name from, since I seriously doubt that it would refer to the lead singer of Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe!

presumably Blake Unlively is someone's Roller Derby name already...

and... here's some fresh Paul Heyman stories via a Phil article: https://sports.yahoo.com/wrestling/article/ecw-what-if-with-paul-heyman-the-night-mma-legend-frank-shamrock-became-the-one-that-got-away-140042619.html

Quote

“Before Taz became the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, I had a trajectory for the title, to where Frank Shamrock would be the one to beat Shane Douglas for the title,” Heyman says. "And we would build up to Frank Shamrock versus Taz for the title, and Taz would take the title off of Frank."

(...)

“At the time, Chris Candido was helping out a lot in several aspects behind the scenes, and Chris had a good relationship with Frank and was discussing it with him. And I believe [currently incarcerated wrestler and then-girlfriend of Candido] Tammy [Lynn Sytch] got involved a couple of times on the phone call and completely turned Frank off to any involvement in ECW, and it just all fell apart from there.

"By the time I called Frank and said, 'Hey, let's see if we can get this back on track,' his answer was something along the lines of, 'Nah, I kind of got a taste of what's going on. I'm just going to respectfully bow out,'" Heyman continues. "I don't know what went on in that conversation or two, but it completely turned Frank off to working for us — and probably for working for anybody in professional wrestling."

As mentioned elsewhere, some of the Heyman/Stephen A Smith banter on social media is as awful as you'd think.

Jonathon Gresham was hospitalised after having 2 Strokes. He's intending to get back in the ring in 2 weeks.

Actually, Blake is the name of her niece and apparently why she chose to use that name.

This is up there with the story about how he was going to go head to head with Howard Stern but instead decided to book ECW as far I'd trust Paul HeyMan as far as I can throw him

Damn, there goes that theory,  then!

....Although, who's to say that her niece wasn't originally named after Blake Lively, obviously depending on her current age?

Isnt she named after JM J Bullock's character from Too Close for Comfort?

That is a deep pull that I, a fellow old dude, fully appreciate.

I try not to judge, because as short in stature as both Gresham and Grace are, I understand why they do what they do to be relevant in the wrestling business, but i can't imagine the amount of gear in that household.

Imagine all the money that could be saved in a household where wrestling gear can be worn by either member of the relationship

Grande Americano has brought back some of the "load a mask" gimmick, maybe someone working matches in football pants can find a place to put a loaded object (inspired by McAdam podcast talk mentioning George Wells wearing football pants as his tights). Aside from Ahmed Johnson, not a lot of wrestlers working with thigh pads

I, uh, don't think he's talking about pads and trunks.

Every couple should find something to bond over.  Problem is they bonded over body dysmorphia.
