Triple H is having a great week, taking that mask off faster than a luchador with bills to pay.

I just found out what this means.

I guess on the bright side, that one LMS match against Shawn Michaels is now only the second-most objectionable thing that Trips has been associated with.

Reminder: Scott Putski managed to get multiple matches on WWF and WCW television during the height of the Monday Night Wars.

It always could be worse.

So I was one of the kids who got to watch GWF on ESPN after school so I was always glad when Putski showed up and I hoped he'd catch on somewhere.

Looking back years later, another example of how kids can be idiots >_>

The feud with Booker T still exists.

Still chuckling at this, Brian. Cheers, mate.

Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2004 was worse than their LMS Royal Rumble 2004 match. HIAC lasted fucking 47:24.

I think both might be behind Erik Watts.

Watts was perfectly serviceable on the WCW C-shows in '99 or whatever. And his TNA run was decent. but if we're sticking with his early/mid '90s run, then yeah. 🤢🤮

also, not for nothing, but i found Stasiak moderately amusing as a doofus. Not great in ring. And even worse in promos. But there's some charm there i think.

Planet Stasiak with the implication that him running headfirst into things too many times made him crazy, was a great gimmick.

would Scott Putski rank ahead or behind Shawn Stasiak for the wrestling children of 1970s stars?

Prince Iaukea should also be in this ignominious grouping

unless i'm mistaken, Prince Iaukea isn't a 2nd gen wrestler. i mean, the gimmick kind of is, but the man behind it isn't.

I'll be damned, I thought he was actually Curtis' kid.

Still stunk, though.

There was a real son of Curtis, Prince Iaukea in Florida. He is not the same person as the WCW Prince Iaukea.

holy shit, to make this even more confusing, Curtis' actual son, Rocky, at the time wrestling as Cheetah Kid, once faced off against WCW Prince Iaukea.

I always enjoyed Iaukea.  He wasn't as flashy as most of the other Cruiserweights, and he didn't really have a personality, but he was fine in the ring.  Always wanted to see him get a run in ECW or something to see if he had any real chops, ala Scotty Riggs

If only they had kept the Dungeon of Doom going for even longer then we could have had Sullivan feuding with Prince Iaukea over the love of King Curtis.

I just saw the alternate angle of the Hogan heel turn (https://youtu.be/3L6PT-BwEWM?si=Qo0IroxqC9KbYOfV) and knowing it was a heel turn really makes one notice that Hogan wasn’t slapping hands or acknowledging fans on the way down. Obviously he shouldn’t do the Jeff Hardy entrance dance while his friends get beat down but it was noticeable knowing what was gonna happen.

These are fair points. My only defense is that in a career so long and so consistently bad, I was bound to forget/block out at least a few of Trips's myriad low points.

No, just some dude from Tampa.

Also, did they ever explicitly bill him as the son of King Curtis?

watching August 2000 WCW Worldwide on the Deep Cuts from NotThatTomGreen and i'm gonna try to figure out who is more checked out between Tony Schiavone, who clearly shouldn't be commentating every TV show, and Bobby Heenan who has been exiled to Worldwide until they fire him in 3 months

Curtis’ son may be best known as abuhdadien or as Naylor calls him, Abu Daba Dabien.
