There will be many F5s and many FUs. Yeah but that's like saying there'll be some super kicks in a Bucks match...

Sorry, I should have said from the onset because I don't expect the match to be anything but finisher spamming for 10 minutes and then they go home.
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 13, 2025 Author Posted August 13, 2025 Charles Robinson is currently hospitalized per his IG. He was apparently bitten by a bat.

Finisher spamming matches is a wrestling trope I wish would go away. In vogue since Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania XXXIIII.
NoFistsJustFlips Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 Lesnar is a little more versatile than that but those bomb throwing hoss finisher spamming matches were certainly the best use of Goldberg possible. Nothing he ever did was better than Survivor Series 2016 & WM34 against Brock. Now Brock's best recent stuff were the Danielson & AJ matches where he tries that formula but the smaller crafty wrestlers find an opening to push him beyond just finisher spamming. 4
The Natural Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 Nastiest hair shop Bianca Belair has ever done was to Sasha Banks at WrestleMania XXXVII. Second to Liv Morgan at Elimination Chamber 2025.

I saw a clip yesterday where a guy and his kid brought in the original 1/1 stone piece from the Buried Alive match for Foley to sign. Who knows how he got it. 1
Curt McGirt Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 It really would be funny if they just went "F5-FU-F5-FU" back and forth for 10 and that's it. Nothing else, nothing. Maffew can speed it up and set it to circus music. 3

Curt McGirt Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 I would take that for second, or actually first place -- as I was thinking of it but couldn't remember what it was 1
zendragon Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 Nobody ever even thing about headbutting that kid

I think a lot of that had to do with AJ and Bryan being more accepted as company guys. Bryan and AJby that time were over enough with Vince and or Heyman for Brock to make them look credible enough with them. You saw the contrast between those guys and Moxley. If Brock isn’t interested in giving you shine , he won’t. Especially guys that have that mid 2000s Indy stereotype. His matches with Goldberg I remember being one of the few matches that got the attention of lapsed fans after it happened. I remember a few people that were completely out of the loop talking about that match especially the Survivor series match. Most of them completely unaware of the match from WrestleMania 20 which made the match even bigger 2

zendragon Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Like Cody's Homelander inspired AEW run that no one understood
hammerva Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Yeah everyone wants to act that Cody was always disliked in AEW. No the vast majority of people started growing a side eye on Cody with that Anthony Ogogo feud where they were trying to get people interested in by acting like England was some kind of evil empire to us and that Cody was standing up for America. When all Anthony was doing was talking about things that sane people kind of agreed with like Black Lives Matter and others. It was also the feud that made people created the "Cody solves racism" sign 1
Niners Fan in CT Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 I guess the lucha folder isn't used much here anymore but I'd recommend watching AAA Triplemania from last night. It's free on their YouTube channel. It's a really fun show. Probably the best "WWE" thing I've seen in several months. Packed house, really fun atmosphere. HHH and Nick Khan were both in attendance but they haven't managed to completely destroy this thing yet.

Bustronaut Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Speaking of questionable choices - wouldn't Punk being Straight Edge preclude him from drinking his beloved Pepsi?

He's not a hardline sXe guy, as also evidenced by his reputation with the female locker room. 1 1
