Zimbra Posted July 24 Posted July 24 TMZ is reporting that Hulk died. Haven't seen outside confirmation yet. 1

Cobra Commander Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Presumably TMZ doesn’t do the things that they did back when they declared Lil Wayne dead 10 years ago.
Log Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Assuming that the Hogan news is true, it's crazy that this dude just passed away on Monday: https://www.wrestlingnewssource.com/news/94572/Roddy-Hogan-Hulk-Hogan-Superfan-and-Fixture-at-WWE/
The Natural Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) Metro, New York Post and Wrestlelamia reporting the news. Cardiac arrest. Damn. Edited July 24 by The Natural
hammerva Posted July 24 Posted July 24 TMZ is reporting it as well. while I know he was in bad shape, I figured all the stuff Bubba the Love Sponge said was bullshit because well he is a piece of shit. 1
Technico Support Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) Wow. There's a lot of bad in the guy's personal life and a lot that is unforgivable. You also can't deny his impact on wrestling. Hogan vs Beefcake was the main of the first wrestling show I ever saw in person. RIP Please note: “scummy person” far outweighs “wrestling legend.” Thanks. Edited July 24 by Technico Support 8
Log Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Seems appropriate right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9JfhANM9B0 1 3
The Great ML Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Man. I’m gutted. He was my favorite wrestler as a child, but as an adult disappointed to learn so much about him. Doesn’t matter at this point. RIP.
Gonzo Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Say what you will about his later years, but there's a pretty good chance that none of us are here and this place doesn't exist without Hulk Hogan. 3
Log Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I mean, if not for Hogan, there's a good chance I'm not on this board right now. He was my gateway into pro wrestling for sure. Him vs. Orndorff was the main of the first show I ever went to. 2
Curt McGirt Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) I'd like to post the British talk-show host "Oh no!" gif but that's too cold even for me. I'll play nice, maybe post Hogan/Hansen later. Okay, he did give us "It's not hot!" Pretty wild how significantly a celebrity managed to kill their fanbase, that's for sure. A lot of people came back from lesser offenses. He ate it big time. worldcupfever Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I assume Hulk is playing bass with Ozzy and Randy Rhodes in heaven. 7
hammerva Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) It will be interesting to see how people honor him. I mean he is one of the biggest legends in wrestling. A no brainer on Mount Rushmore. But the vast majority of people who will be remembering him were either screwed by him or treated like shit by him. That funeral guest list is going to be wild Edited July 24 by hammerva 1
supremebve Posted July 24 Posted July 24 As far as I'm concerned, this is his best cultural contribution and I'm not even trying to be funny. https://youtu.be/eX_k5_egUAo?si=cesU1H-WrTU0kGHJ If you know anything about me, you probably know I wasn't much of a fan of Hogan as a person, but I cannot and will not downplay his contribution to wrestling as a performer. I was the kid who was always rooting against Hogan, but he's the absolute reason I became a fan. 4
Craig H Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Not me, I don’t give a shit and I’m not buying into “well we might not be here if not for him” shit either because if not Hogan then it would have been someone else. Not to mention that wrestling would have kept evolving and Hogan didn’t have an impact on lucha or puroresu so I’m willing to bet this site still exists. 7
WebConn89 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 The man brought pro wrestling to the mainstream. Didn’t personally agree with him on a few topics.
The Green Meanie Posted July 24 Posted July 24 So the three this time was Malcom Jamal Warner, Ozzy Osborne, and Hulk Hogan? What a weird combination.
Curt McGirt Posted July 24 Posted July 24 You know what Hogan will always represent for me? Endless NWO promos. Every fucking week. If that's your legacy... 1 1 3
stuntmanc Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Even in death, he couldn't let anyone keep the spotlight on them for too long (Ozzy). I have a lot of conflicting emotions about this. On one hand, what a reprehensible scumbag of a human being, but as others have said, im not a wrestling fan and wrestling isn't the same without him and his legacy. 2
RIPPA Posted July 24 Posted July 24 For the sake of everyone's sanity - it would be preferred if everyone stuck to the contributions (pro or con) on the wrestling side or the acting side - like when someone killed that dog while Hogan drove his motorcycle away or all the absurd lying - which side note - I am only seeing this one for the first time and now I want more details Quote Says Harley Race came to the arena with a gun, and set the ring on fire and asked Hogan for a job. 9
