Where are you from, by chance? Cleveland in the warmer months can be quite pleasant. The winters are about as horrible as any place on Earth. For instance, I work with a guy from Russia and we got into a dick measuring contest about growing in cold ass places, except he was talking in Celsius and I was talking in Fahrenheit. So we looked up the coldest winter on record in our respective home towns and did the conversion and it turns out they were exactly the same. I say that as someone who lived about 45 minutes away from Cleveland, so my hometown was outside of the lake effect. Cleveland is generally 5-10 degrees colder during the winter than my hometown. Cleveland is almost unimaginably cold at its worst.
Contentious C Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 A bit southwest of there. Very aware of lake effect snow.
Brian Fowler Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I'm genetically and geographically required by law to hate Ohio. --- Although Addison's suspension is on the substance abuse policy, it's not a failed drug test. He pled guilty to a DUI, and drunk driving violates the NFL substance policies.
hammerva Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 So Mike Vrabel is ready for this season apparently as in a scuffle between the Commanders and Pats today he got busted open trying to I guess break it up
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 The NFL is banning the use of smelling salts during games.

hammerva Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 (edited) Yeah apparently you can use your own smelling salt and I guess my question is can you regularly buy smelling salt? EDIT: So you can buy that stuff in Target and Walmart. Hopefully it is one of those locked up behind the counter things Edited August 7, 2025 by hammerva

You can buy them at pretty much any drug store in this country. The ridiculous stuff that an NFL athlete would require, is the stuff you buy at the gym in the industrial park section of town that you do not want to go to. You know the one. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Rashawn Slater got carted off the field after getting injured at LAC's practice today. Schef is saying it's "not looking good".

hammerva Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 Didn't make it a quarter and Anthony Richardson is already hurt. To be fair most QB would be hurt with a completely unblocked pass rush
Tabe Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 The Lions' injury parade on defense has started. CB Ennis Rakestraw has a shoulder injury and is done for the year.
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 The old instincts never die. Also, I truly appreciate Marshawn completing all the side quests now that he's beaten the game.
BobbyWhioux Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 Marshawn Lynch is the spiritual successor to the rebel/oddball character spirit of 70s and 80s football that the NFL has been trying to muzzle and exterminate in the name of sponsors ever since The last True Oakland Raider
BobbyWhioux Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 "I'm just here so I don't get fined" is the greatest line in sports interview history and must live forever. 3 1

Athlete interviews are the most boring thing in the world 99% of the time. I think that’s why Wenbanyama’s kung fu monk excursion and weird chess training make me so happy. He seems like a throwback to when sports had characters. 1

hammerva Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Man Washington didn't give a fuck about this game against the Patriots. Oh well still preseason Oh and be prepared for massive overreaction Monday because Shadeur Sanders looked fine. A few times he did made a bad decision but nothing massive. Overall solid.

I have to say, that's a really good throw, but the first touchdown pass fit into an insanely tight window. If nothing else he showed some very impressive touch on his passes. He seemed calm under pressure and saw the field well. This wasn't Cam Newton against the Cardinals, but this was a promising debut.
RIPPA Posted August 9, 2025 Author Posted August 9, 2025 My issue with it - and Josina was one of many - who immediately jumped to HA! LOOK AT THE CLOWN GIANTS FOR PASSING ON HIM!!!!
hammerva Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 (edited) Cam Little for the Jags with a 70 yard FG Can all time record be broken in preseason. EDIT: Okay apparently it is not official but it damn should be Edited August 10, 2025 by hammerva
NoFistsJustFlips Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 I saw that they changed the rules for the K balls this year. The one video I watched said now that they have 48 hours to soften the balls up vs just 2 hours before, he was predicting more kicks from around that distance. Should have a new record or two this year.
