RIPPA Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Kyle Gibson - who had been on a minor league deal with the Rays - has decided to retire
Kevin Wilson Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 I know its poor form to post random plays from your favorite team but this is one of those throws that fans talk about for awhile: I know the base runner didn't slide and he'd have been safe if he did but he didn't slide because that throw is made 1% of the time at best and probably isn't even tried most of the time. Acuna's arm is underrated since he's so good at everything else. I know the Braves won't re-sign him in a couple years so I have to enjoy him while I can (stay healthy!). 2
Travis Sheldon Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 I couldn't tell from that camera angle if the 3B was able to put the tag on the runner. The throw was Dave Parker-esque, though.
Cobra Commander Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 barring a sudden change, the rumor is that Rich Hill will be pitching in the Majors tomorrow at age 45 with the Royals

Dolfan in NYC Posted July 22, 2025 Author Posted July 22, 2025 Philly beat the Red Sox in extras today. The interesting part was it was on an extra innings walk off Catchers Interference. Fortunately for the pitcher, I don't think that counts against his ERA?
Cobra Commander Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 Brewers going for 12 consecutive wins tomorrow with Misiorowski starting. A win tomorrow means George Webb gives out free burgers

Goes down as an error, if I'm not mistaken.
Pete Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 First walk-off catcher's interference since 8/1/71, when the Dodgers beat Cincy 5-4 after Johnny Bench (of all players) got called for it.

I'm a Mets fan and can say with 100% certainty that this was definitely not just a random play, this is a defensive play of the year candidate.
RIPPA Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 Just to put a bow on something Rafael Devers will be playing 1B tonight for the Giants
Hamhock Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Navarez followed up last night's walk-off interference by committing catcher's interference again tonight in the bottom of the first inning, causing a run to score (though Harper would have successfully stolen home regardless).
Log Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 That has to make them literally the most ok team of all-time, right?
RIPPA Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 The first “big” trade has happened as the D-Backs are trading Josh Naylor to the Mariners
Dolfan in NYC Posted July 25, 2025 Author Posted July 25, 2025 Ryan McMahon right now: He's now a Yankee. The Rox in return receive LHP Griffin Herring (#8 ranked NYY prospect) and RHP Josh Grosz (#21)
RIPPA Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Sounds like the price for Eugenio Suraez is insane if the Yanks already decided to pivot to McMahon
Tabe Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Help me out - a couple decent prospects for a guy who can't hit?

They upgraded from Ray Oyler to Mario Mendoza.
Dolfan in NYC Posted July 25, 2025 Author Posted July 25, 2025 For the first time in the 113 year history of Fenway, concession workers are on strike. They will not be present for tonight's game against the Trolleydodgers, barring a miracle.
odessasteps Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Hope they have water stations available. It’s almost 100 F here.
RIPPA Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Nick Kurtz had one of the greatest games ever for a hitter 6 for 6 4 Home Runs 19 Total bases Those exactly match Shawn Green's 2002 game He is the 20th player to hit 4 HRs in a game and the first rookie to do so
