hammerva Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 (edited) ONeil Cruz going 513 on one . Got blown up a little but man what a show Edited July 15, 2025 by hammerva
RIPPA Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 There was a meme going around that was basically Paul Skenes looking at his run support and then watching Cruz hit all those home runs
hammerva Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 So is Jazz Chisholm Jr performance last night the worst in Home Run Derby history? I mean I never considered him much of home run hitter to begin with but when the number of pitches he passed on is greater than the number of home runs holy shit. If this was a doubles derby he would have drove the fans crazy

If this was a doubles derby he would have drove the fans crazy In all of history - no since plenty of guys didn't hit HRs at all - but the derby has had plenty of different formats That being said - he is the first player in almost a decade to not hit at least double digits (Robinson Cano hit 7 in 2016)

Dolfan in NYC Posted July 15, 2025 Author Posted July 15, 2025 I seem to remember the "record" (though it is probably apocryphal) was Mickey Mantle hitting one 575 out of Tigers Stadium in the 50's?

Imagine what he could've done if he was truly healthy.

Cobra Commander Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 requesting an AEW match that goes to a draw which is settled by a bodyslam contest
hammerva Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 (edited) I don't know if it a good thing or a bad thing that MLB idea to deal with the All Star Game is to steal from soccer and hockey Quote requesting an AEW match that goes to a draw which is settled by a bodyslam contest Since the WWE is working with Fanatics, they need to take the "hit Logan Paul with a chair" game at these event to judge time limit draws now Saw the Hank Aaron tribute and that was incredible. Pete Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Texas LHP Nathan Eovaldi had a $100,000 bonus in his contract for making the ASG this year. Despite a "slash line" (so to speak) of 7-3/1.58/0.846 over 16 starts, he got snubbed from the roster. To their immense credit, the Rangers are giving him the bonus. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45755529/rangers-give-100k-all-star-bonus-nathan-eovaldi-snub

I believe the Phillies did this for a couple of their pitchers too but that was also tied to them being pissy that Jacob Misiorowski was selected over their guys

MLB apparently got rejected by 12 pitchers before they asked Misiorowski.
