Curt McGirt Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Guess what showed up in my Facebook feed after reading this? A post from a page I don't follow with photos of Bayne and Janela. Yeah, they aren't watching us all. No way. Anyway, there isn't any enormous size difference, but Janela did look like a total goof in all of them. 1

Oh no, ultimately they could be like, grown adults and acted more professionally. Just that it's kind of ironic. Edited July 6 by COLETTI 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 6 Posted July 6 So why hasn't anyone pitched the wrestling version of Love Island?

Even though it's only a four inch size difference, according to Wiki. Anyway, none of my business, and happy for them. Death by snu snu or by power bomb off a building, whichever comes first. 2

Isnt that the current NXT locker room I think the best description I heard about Janela is that he may be the Pete Davidson of wrestling. I mean if we showed you the list of women that he has dated, I am not sure we would have thought Pete Davidson would be the guy Edited July 6 by hammerva 1

Ramo2653 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 In my personal experience if you see a couple and wonder how they're together, I find out the guy is usually a pretty cool dude and it makes sense.
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Janela definitely seems like a guy I'd have been great friends with when I was partying. During Covid he would live stream matches and he came across as a cool ass dude. I get the impression the GCW Backyard Wrestling shows are made up of a lot of his ideas and those shows are both dumb as hell and fun as hell. Plus he showed up at a PTA meeting to troll Drake Younger. 2 1
Casey Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Pretty sure he was like an unofficial indie talent scout for AEW in the early days and it’s no surprise. Dude lives and breathes the independent scene, for better or worse. I wonder what he thinks of GCW cozying up to WWE so hard this past year. Also I was watching the JCW show that’s streaming on YouTube, and… please can we get 1 Called Manders? He’s fucking awesome. 3
Curt McGirt Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I just saw a clip from GCW Backyard Wrestling of a guy called JJ Allin (heh) who set himself completely on fire in a burn suit on his way to the ring before jumping in a pool.

Megan's not actually that big, the majority of the AEW women's division is just tiny.
porksweats Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Just had a cursed thought, what if AEW bringing in Father/Son tag titles is their way of belting up Big Boom AJ and Big Justice. 1

For as long as the Challenge has been on, only having a pre-WWE Miz and Lio Rush is pretty lame. You'd think given that so much of the "game" of the Challenge is politicking, maybe more than the physical stuff, that more wrestlers would be ripe for it.
Shartnado Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) I'm only at Fyter Fest so far and was watching Thekla's entrance thinking "Damn, she should really team up with Lady Frost... I wonder who she's going up aga...HOLY SHIT!!!" Sadly, too much of a squash, but I'm sure these two would have a better, more competitive match in them for sure! Casually starting the Summer Blockbuster with Ospreay vs Swerve 2! This ought to be nice... yeah, but I called the 30-minute draw! Okada showing respect to Kenny, only to blindside the shit out of him was a dick move! While I think Bowens' gimmick is very cheesily tacked on (go with one or the other) I think his music is awesome and him going against all these great workers who are total douches (Prickochet, Okada and Fletcher) is working pretty well. Mortos vs Bandido is a dream match that I have been waiting for a good while now! Me and Bandido currently share a physique, just look at us! Edited July 7 by Shartnado moving to the next show... 3
Peck Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I CANNOT BELIEVE Christopher Daniels worked us with that gross-looking eye injury for a YEAR AND A HALF. That's some next-level shit. Kudos. 2
Casey Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hey guys it’s definitely AEW PPV week: because Teil Rhodes is complaining on Twitter that she doesn’t get royalties for coming up with the All In show name. And ofc Bully Ray slides in and cries about “not getting credit” for booking the battle royale that was on the fuckin’ preshow. 1 1 3

Just pitching a show name to your brother and him using it, and then the brother signing away the rights to the name & footage in exchange for cheap (free?) production from ROH doesn't grant you any ownership. Therefore nothing to pay out royalties for. 4
Technico Support Posted July 8 Posted July 8 It would seem the Big Damo Rule also applies to wrestlers' families. 2
Niners Fan in CT Posted July 8 Posted July 8 SRS asked Tony Khan if Mercedes Mone has creative control and Tony said that it's "ridiculous" to think that she does and that he has always had the final say in every booking decision since day one. Will that put that dumb issue to rest? Well, some wrestling fans aren't very bright so I'd say no. 3
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 She obviously told him to say that. Creative control of Tony's interviews was her last sticking point before signing. 1 4
Casey Posted July 8 Posted July 8 (edited) She's a highly successful black female wrestler. She's never going to beat the Mercedes Hogan allegations from the anti-AEW crowd on the internet. TK even pointed out specifically that he meets with Mercedes & Jennifer Pepperman, and Toni Storm & RJ City, and people latched onto "Mercedes has her own writer" and ignored that RJ does the same thing for Toni (even though Pepperman & RJ both work with other talent too, but whatever). Edited July 8 by Casey 5
Technico Support Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Yeah, tribalism, racism, misogyny, and Mercedes getting to bring her writer onboard created this stupid perfect storm that culminated in this absolutely dumb rumor. Tony Khan is not an idiot, and he's a student of wrestling. AND he already tried giving some limited creative control to Punk (by way of Collision) and we saw how that didn't work. I doubt he's just handing out creative control in any form ever again. 1
