Seems like Triple H doesn't have the time to give anyone a push.

He doesn't. That's why WWE's hot streak is over.

So don't really know where to put this, this seems as good a place as any. On my walk today I was thinking about AEW's for lack of a better term "missing in action" list, basically those who aren't injured or climbing Everest but are under contract/haven't been seen in a while for no officially known reason. Some I assume are just having their contracts run out, some I assume aren't as healthy as they claim they are (sorry Keith Lee), some are truly confusing (Gunn Club & Jack Perry aren't my favorites but should probably be doing something)... and then there is Nyla Rose.

It was another pride month come and gone where AEW seemingly forgot about the existence of Nyla which always irks me a bit, but I went to check cagematch after and saw she has not been booked by AEW/ROH all year (working the Jericho Cruise was as close as she got). It sticks out as she was regularly working ROH and dark matches right until the end of 2024, then a hard stop with 2025. I don't know why this is so but I would be lying if I said I saw the timing and didn't have a certain fear cross my mind. Let me just say that I really, really hope to see her work an AEW/ROH match soon. Please.

In full agreement. Nyla Rose is great, she's funny and underutilized. A love also according to our very own NikoBaltimore and his wife.

I think Nyla kinda falls in the same category as Baker, where at one time she was one of the best options in the women's division, then the talent level passed her by. And, although she has shown great personality on social media, that hasn't translated on actual AEW/ROH programming. Personally, I always thought she was kinda sloppy... she was bigger than the other women and had a gimmick of a "beast", but she didn't appear to actually be strong enough to safely do a lot of the big moves she tried, unless she was working a twig like Riho.

I may be totally making this up, but doesn’t Nyla have some sort of backstage role with AEW now?

That's what I've read.  She's supposedly doing backstage work and a producer-like role.  Don't quote me because I don't remember where I read that.

Three paragraphs and each one is more ridiculous than the next.

The stadium isn't going to be "less than half full" by the time July 12th rolls around.  We've been through this.  Plus, it's already surpassed $2.5M in tickets.

Dr. Britt Baker, you just said you don't know what's going on and then follow it up with a bunch of shit acting like you know what's going on.  Also, cut what losses?  Tony Khan is a fucking billionaire.  Like he cares.

As for Triple H, they are running SD!,  RAW, NXT,  AAA,  Evolve and some other shit that I'm forgetting.  He isn't booking them all but what we do know is most of them have been coasting for about a year now at least and nobody cares because Silver Lake is just selling out every tiny bit of soul the company had left in it.

All In Texas is one week away, and less than 20,000 seats have been sold. That's without knowing how many are comps. The first All In sold over $10 million in tickets and drew over 72,000 people. In one year, they lost 36% of that audience. This year, they couldn't even draw half of that audience, and in a state where they should be drawing enthusiastic wrestling crowds.

As for Britt Baker, I don't, but she hasn't been on TV since November. And sorry, but that's a giant red flag. If she wants to leave, let her leave. Let her see if the grass is in fact, greener on the other side. Use that money elsewhere. Tony Khan does care; otherwise, why keep her under contract?

I think I gave you too much credit. This is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while.  You're comparing the first stadium show in London, England since 1992 to an even in the middle of Texas that gets wrestling all the time.  It's likely at 20,000 sold and you should know by now that ticket sales for PPVs pick up during the final week ahead of the show.  Also, you said less than half empty, depending on staging,  the capacity is likely around 35,000.  Over $2.5M in ticket sales with a week to go is already a win.  It's the biggest non-WWE wrestling event in United States history. That covers nearly a hundred years of wrestling.

So I guess your biggest criticism is that they aren't WWE,  a company that was founded like 70 years ago?  Sounds to me like you have an ax to grind.

As for Dr. Britt,  this whole "why won't Khan let this person leave" thing is ridiculous.  He's already let people out of their contracts before.  We have no idea what's going on but we do know that 90% of people who have ever worked there love Tony Khan and have said he's the best boss they've ever had.

But you want to focus on the 10% or less. That's a problem you have and I hope you get help for it.

They crossed the 20k mark yesterday. WrestleTix hasn’t updated his Twitter for All In yet, but his Patreon has the count.

You’re also comparing the first AEW All In, that was in a starving market, to Texas, which both companies hit frequently.

Jesus. I know my posts can be critical but I really hope you guys don't lump me in with him. I bring up my ideas and opinions on how to fix the things I think need fixing. He's just trashing things and reveling in it. 25k in a 35k setup isnt great (despite the great money), but there's still a week left. The card looks strong. I hope the walk up is strong and maybe there's a large group of people waiting for day-of price drops. Still time for the ticket sales issue to turn out fine.

And even if it is 25k in a 35k setup, it still might look good on PPV. Just depends how it's shot. The Nashville & Cleveland Summer Slams only used half building setups and those looked good the way they were shot.

I disagree with you a lot but I find you insightful. Not being WWE is 80% of the battle for AEW in my eyes. I'm to the point where it's "don't watch WWE" or "don't watch wrestling." I tend to be very optimistic (with few specific exceptions) as to what AEW is doing on tv. Other people might be more critical. That's okay.

Fair if that's the updated figure, but that's still AEW's biggest show of the year.  And Texas is typically a good market for wrestling, so this is one show they should be drawing a legit sellout.

Globe Life Field's capacity is over 40,000, and that's without any floor seating. My criticism is that they shouldn't be struggling to sell out their biggest show of the year.

That 90% of people who have ever worked there love Tony Khan sounds somewhat skewed, considering a few years ago, it looked like CM Punk loved working for Tony Khan. And Ricky Saints probably loved it as well at one point.

I do have to say asking people how they feel about their current boss/promoter publicly is a... let's say flawed metric. Any wrestler who outright criticized their promoter is either looking for a way out or is in for a rude awakening (a.k.a. the Lio Rush special).

Bryan Alvarez is trying to push the theory that Shelton, Bobby and by extension MVP don’t want to lose matches and only look strong because they want to go back to WWE.

lol

It's AEW's 3rd best gate ever and the best North American non-wwe gate ever too. They're doing alright for a t-shirt company.

I was thinking, with Darby being climbing Everest and being associated with Sting, he should 100% get Stingers old snow entrance from now on. Imagine Mox having Hanger set up for death and then it starts snowing in Texas...

Also, has anyone called the Redwood "My Big Beautiful Bill" yet? Because they're missing a trick if they haven't 😂

Both guys come across as carny malcontents.  Better examples of this would be nice, though I agree with @username’s assessment that “I like my boss (who signs my checks)” is a flawed metric.

I don't think it's flawed. Even CM Punk himself said "Tony Khan is a really nice guy" although for him that was an issue because he couldn't get along with anyone.

I think this might be Alvarez getting worked.

Fast forward to several months from now, after CM Punk has been quietly seething over the Saudi Arabia trip and calls Nick Khan a scumbag on TV and demands an apology for "forcing" him to go on the trip and being made to look like a "hypocrite" to the fans. Stranger things have happened in this carny business.

Yes, especially during his title run. His run as champion was lukewarm at best.

Yeah, this is silly. MVP's out doing press seemingly alluding to Helmsley being racist any chance he gets, so not sure how that makes any sense. For him at least. And when was the last time Benjamin was in a position of this importance? When was he even able to wrestle substantial matches? Obviously, there's more to being a content or happy employee, but I sense he's enjoying himself. Lashley is a question mark, but not sure I buy his wanting to go back. Alvarez has a ridiculous tendency to overlook the booker in these scenarios. Bailey/Knight and the teams who came and went before them looking like 'geeks' is all on the man with the pencil. Tony isn't the only one of us who was clamouring for a dominant 2025 Roadies style team. It's been discussed on these boards since the beginning. I don't blame the try, I appreciate it even, but it's a good time to change it up. Whatever the case booking your Tag Champions to defend once a month or so is the bigger problem.
