odessasteps Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Infantino being at the WBC rooting for Italy makes me glad Venezuela won.
RIPPA Posted March 17 Posted March 17 The latest update regarding Iran is that they are negotiating with FIFA to move all their games to Mexico
odessasteps Posted March 17 Posted March 17 The head of the Asian Fed is still saying he expected Iran to play.

odessasteps Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I wonder if they would have to do that if they were also a FIFA partner.
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Fans and apparently players(!) from several different countries will have to put up $15000 bonds in order to gain tourists visas for the duration of the tournament. FIFA is trying to get an exemption for at least the players because countries like Cape Verde may simply not have the nearly half a million dollars needed to get their entire squad into the US.
odessasteps Posted March 25 Posted March 25 FIFA will probably just withhold it from the teams prize money.
odessasteps Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I leave the room with Ireland up 3-2 on penalties and come back to see they’ve lost. ️
odessasteps Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Will be very day Football Weekly tomorrow. No one needs a sad Elis James.
SirFozzie Posted April 1 Posted April 1 People will turn 24 before Italy plays the first knockout World Cup game in their lives. That's insane. 1
ReiseReise Posted April 1 Posted April 1 It's so weird that Italy's EURO win in the pandemic EURO - which felt absolutely deserved at the time - is retrospectively an Underdog Story of a Nation in continous decline. Happy to see Sweden making it through, although after that horrible WCQ campaign, I can't call IT deserved.

Robert S Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I was texting back and forth a bit last evening with my sister (who lives in Italy for 20 years now) and she was pretty disillusioned about the quality of the Italian players. I was joking that it was clever by the Italian players to lose the game as I wouldn't want to travel to the US in the current political climate either.
odessasteps Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Lots of banter about Italys moral opposition to last 3 WC hosts as to why they lost.
