I am not sure what is worse right now,  the fact that the US teams especially on the men's side are so bad or that given how our government is acting now by the time the World Cup happens the stands will look like a Sabrina Carpenter concert with entire groups scared to death of going

Tickets for today's Fluminense vs. Chelsea semi-final at MetLife had their prices dropped from nearly $400 to $13.

The President of the United States, who refused to leave the field as Chelsea was celebrating their CWC championship....   announced today that Chelsea would not be getting the trophy for the tournament as he is keeping it.

Well, he actually said they told him to hang on to it, he asked when they'd like it back, and they told him to keep it as they were just going to make a new one.

He's not holding a trophy hostage. 

The actual problem with this story is people keep giving him things. Stop giving him things.

2026 FIFA World Cup first limited ticket sales underway - ESPN

 

The first chance to apply for tickets is open through next Friday.  Be warned - that $60/ticket minimum won't apply to the US.  Rumor has it that the group stage US matches will run $500 for Category 4 (nosebleeds).

The President has stated he is considering pulling games from cities like San Francisco and Seattle because he deems them unsafe.  

Those cities voting against him in the last election had nothing to do with this decision at all, mind you.  

 

Also... I have no idea if he has the authority to do this.  But he sure seems to think he does.

US Soccer formally announced a co-host bid for the 2031 Women's World Cup. The joint bid is the US, Mexico, Jamaica and Costa Rica

The bid is uncontested and is expected to be approved in April of next year

The UK will be getting the 2035 Women's World Cup as the joint bid of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland was the only "valid" bid

And with that - we are officially in "Jesus - I hope I am alive" territory
