Dolfan in NYC Posted June 3 Posted June 3 You wake up late for school, man you don't want to go... You ask you mom, please? but she still says, no. Hey, lots of stuff happened last week. Like, did you know this week's show is 4 hours long? Also Toni reminded us she's bi (oh, and also the champ) You missed two classes, and no homework, but your teacher preaches class like you're some kind of jerk. Seriously though.... 4 hours long? That seems to bear repeating! Also, Swerve and Will Ospreay don't appear to be best friends: You gotta fight for your right to party! Man.... Did you know this week's show is 4 hours long? You better be ready to switch out your VCR tape! (Why would your mother be jealous of your loud music that she clearly dislikes? RIP Adam, 13 years gone.) Enjoy the week! [ED. NOTE - I'll use my Thekkla (Tekkla?) title next week. Maybe.] 2 3
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I always took it that the mom was jealous her kids would rather listen to the Beast...ie BOYS over her? Jealous probably wasn't the right term but oh well. Another great looking card. I should be able to catch the last two hours. Probably will miss the trios match so I'll be watching Thursday. The 4 way should be crazy. Kommander is gonna get rag dolled by Brody and Claudio. 1

Johnny Sorrow Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) Like I mentioned in the other thread, I'll be there and it looks like a great time. But I don't know if I'm going to stay for all of Collision. I have to work Thursday morning. I haven't been to a four hour wrestling show since ROH or JAPW circa 2005. edit: With the exception of the DEAN last year. That was close to 4 hours, but that doesn't count. That wasn't just some random wrestling show. It was a Family Reunion of fellow weirdos in an industrial plaza in South Jersey. For fuck’s sake, Rhymin’ & Stealin’ is a track about being a pirate! I chalk it up to the album coming out when I was 12 and not understanding nuance at that point. JLowe Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Fun fact: the only member of The Beastie Boys who went to Stuyvesant High School (whose gym shirt is worn by Ad Rock) is Kate Schellenbach. Also, when I started at Stuyvesant in fall 1985 they no longer had gym shirts like that, which made a lot of new students mad. Ad Rock wearing that shirt was the coolest Stuyvesant thing that had happened for years. 3

I'm not gonna fuck with it; this DVR is so confusing, I can't even cancel recordings. It doesn't matter anyway. I wrote a note for myself to either set it to record after the first two hours are done or just, y'know, watch the show.

The Natural Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Looking forward to the AEW International Championship match the most. 2
The Natural Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Just hit me this will be going as long as an AEW PPV, four hours. Could be an overrun as well. 1
The Natural Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega V, Winner Takes All at AEW All In! 1
Cobra Commander Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Royals got rained out, so I watched all of this, no way I remembered all of it. Various matches announced. Hangman doesn't want Swerve's help. Omega/Okada. Multiple Don Callis commentary spots. Hechicero is with Callis.

NJPW Dominion 2018. *****. 1. Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega. NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11. *****. The record is 2-1-1 with two wins for Kenny Omega, one for Kazuchika Okada and one draw. 2
DreamBroken Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) 4 hours was pretty awesome! Loved the International 4 way as my match of the night. Hyped for Omega vs. Okada. thought Thekla looked like an absolute star here. Welcome back Tay Melo! always a fav, a nice reunion of TayJay Looking forward to doing it again next week for Summer Blockbuster! Edited June 5 by DreamBroken 4

Phantom Lord Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) I made it through most of this show. Dynamite was the better of the show as Collision felt like it just was running on fumes. I got a good laugh at the start of the show when Osprey was talking and Cru's music came on and I was like "who the hell is that" and a second later Osprey says the same thing. I guess no one pays attention to the music. No one was buying Lio Rush having a chance against Osprey. Mox/Briscoe was good and it had the same ending last week with a referee stoppage. Would it kill Moxley to cheat to win once in a while? Feet on the ropes...handfull of tights. I would like Moxley better as a champion if he was a chickenshit once in a while. The fatal fourway was really good. I liked how they set up for Okada vs. Omega in the most predicted match for All In. Overall it was all right, but by the forth hour it was dragging. Cobra Commander Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Lio's lobster coat was something.. also the rana/senton spot in one of the matches later was fun 1
The Natural Posted June 5 Posted June 5 6 hours ago, The Natural said: Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega V, Winner Takes All at AEW All In! Now it's Winner Takes All for the AEW Continental Championship and AEW International Championship, I think it might be less likely Timeless Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Mone Winner Takes All for the AEW Women's World Championship and AEW TBS Championship.
The Natural Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Running Will Ospreay vs Swerve Strickland on AEW TV next week, I think it'll be 1-1 with the rubber match at All In as I'm trying to think what both will be booked in there. 1

EVA Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I really like a lot of what AEW is doing right now from a booking perspective. I’m really enjoying Ospreay as the pure, whitemeat Guy Who Cares SOOOO Much and how that’s putting him in natural conflict with, like, everybody else who are fixated on their own stuff. That’s a tough role to pull off without becoming cloying, but he’s nailing it. Probably helps that they’re booking him to be the aggressor with Swerve instead of a pacifist. Wrestling fans do ultimately pay to see people fight, not get along. 6
EVA Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Also, how did this 4+ hour show with TV commercial breaks feel like less of a slog to get through than a 3-hour WWE PLE lol 6
NikoBaltimore Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I'll admit to falling asleep for the last half hour and had to skip through to see Thekla's debut and the match announcement. But aside from that the show was a blast. I'm assuming the 4-hour things are done due to the playoffs so if it's just this and next week I'm good. But I would personally have a stronger match be the last one of the night unless they're going SNME-style for some reason.
Curt McGirt Posted June 5 Posted June 5 This was a chore, but a fun one. Here is what the Discord will help me remember. Hopefully. Spoiler - I initially was afraid the first hour would just be talking but I guess that's leftover AEW go-home show and general WWE show fear. We do get a chunk of Bruv though. Ospreay is very earnest and very loud. - Mox vs. Briscoe was pretty damn good, as expected. I too wonder why Mox doesn't panic and cheat sometimes. Even the NWA touring champ did that. Super physical match, Mark bleeds because Moxley has decided to ban the blade for himself when he's a heel. Marina is all glammed-out which is an interesting change of look for her. At one point Mark does something weird and you can read Jon's mouth say "What the fuck was that?" - We get another Mistico promo reel to eat time; them pretending nobody remembers Sin Cara or actual Mistico from Mexico is absurd. "We don't know who Dralistico is either! We swear!" To steal a line from a meme I saw recently, Mercedes had her steak cooked in a dishwasher. Tag is good and it's really good to have Skye back, but FFS let me watch the heat segment in these matches sometime before cutting to commercial. It never ends! Toni has some funny selling with a bump out of the ring where she lands with both legs straight on the floor and falls flat backwards like a tree, then later on I turn away for a moment, look back and there she is face first and motionless on the apron outside the ropes She must've really needed that wine to wash down the steak... - Bobby comes out with a suit apparently fashioned out of latex (?!). I'm sure it was patent leather or something, but... yeah. I'd tell you who he probably bought it from but that joke is burned out by now. Betcha Max is gonna go down to Mexico and do "the swim" like Art Barr in that Worlds Collide match. We get a surprise six-man with Ingobernables cuz Speedball and Komander want the belts. Ingobernables are just monsters here (even if the actual monster, Mortos, eats a lot of shit and the pin -- the DDT he takes is nas-tee) with a really cool spot I've never seen where all three guys surfboard Speedball over the ropes onto his opponents outside. Kevin Knight has a good showing too. But, once again... HEAT SEGMENT. PLEASE. Ingobernables need it most of all. - Okay, getting tired at this point, already. Caster sounds, vocally, just like Max to where looking away I thought it was him until I glanced back at the screen. The four-way was a bunch of crazy crazy shit and Brody gets his eyebrow busted but I just could not pay full attention. We get an Omega/Okada interaction to set up the match announcement at the end. This would be where that would happen with Tony actually coming out to say so and Dynamite ends and hey hey that was a great show! But... we go on... 1
