Dolfan in NYC Posted May 6 Posted May 6  He's on the level, if he's inclined. A son of a devil, he wants mine and more. Oh, he's a high, high climber, not just a clinging vine. He made the grade, he made his marks, it's secure. And guess who's keeping score? Hey, we're back for another week of All Elite! We've got an angry Samoa Joe trying to get his title back from Mox! And Daniel Garcia announcing he'll be on the receiving end of a heel beatdown!  Will Paragon help him, or will he just be para-gone???   He's a real speed demon. He's one of a kind. Watching, waiting, winking over his shoulder... He's running out of time... Over on the ladies side, sounds like a murdering gymnast (?) is gunning for the gold! Will Toni be the Last Girl???   Rush, rush, got the yeyo? Buzz, buzz, gimme yeyo! Rush, rush, got the yeyo? (Oh, oh) Yo, yo, no, no, yeyo (Oh, oh)! This week... oooh!  Back 2 Back Dynamite & Collision! You're going to HAVE to go out with your wife this weekend! No excuses big boy. (A little tribute to the new GTA 6 trailer! And I couldn't squeeze an AEW pun into "Hot Together".) Enjoy the week! 3 1
Gordi the BJW fan Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) Hart of Glass? Hangman on the Telephone? One May or Another?  Joe vs Claudio? Yes, please. But PLEASE leave the House of Moxture run ins for AFTER the match. Team Kenny vs Team Okada, minus Kenny and Okada? Sure, why not. Should be lots of fun. Hayter sit down interview? Obviously, some of us would very much prefer "standing up, filmed from behind" but I am actually interested in what she has to say. Very much hoping that Mutie Suzuki doesn't interrupt and take over the interview. (Other nicknames for Mercedes: The Great Mute-a, Call of Mutie, Mutie and the Blowfish, Judge Mutie, Mutie Pie, The Mute-est in the World). Y'know, because every time she starts up with that WWE Newspeak, I am hitting the mute button hard.  tl/dr: This could be another GREAT Dynamite if they let the wrestlers wrestle but it could be kind of awful if they overbook it (and also feature Mone on the mic instead of in the ring) Which is basically true most weeks, lately. The Natural Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is still the best GTA game ever made. 1

"4 Little Diamantes" was the other top choice for this week, FYI.   2 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 They finally put up the stupid graphic for tonight: I'm just gonna say, I always liked it more when they just called them "Non-Title Matches". It added the stakes that the champ MAY actually lose, and IF they lose, you get to see this again for the strap. Eliminator makes it sound like if the non-title holder loses, they're killed as soon as the match ends. Or at least will never be heard from again. 1
Technico Support Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) If the champion is just going to win anyway most of the time, maybe make some of these eliminator matches straight up title matches instead in order to hype up the show. Eliminator/non title matches really only work if you have a semblance of a ranking system, and then your non-title matches feature the champion vs someone who normally wouldn't get a title shot. Then there's the intrigue of, "what if the #15 ranked (or whatever) person actually wins?" And then, once in a while, you do that. As it stands now, nobody would bat an eye if Thunder Rosa were granted a title match today. AxB Posted May 7 Posted May 7 The World titles are supposed to be the most prestigious belts, with the idea being that they are defended infrequently, and it's very hard to earn a title shot. But right now, the Women's World title is on Toni Storm, who is both a) a draw who they want to use on TV as much as possible, and b) a workhorse, who wants to wrestle every week. Which leads to her being booked in Title Eliminators a lot. Now having the TBS title, which is supposed to be defended very frequently, on Mercedes Mone (who wants her appearances on TV to be rare and special occasions), that messes things up a little. 2

Let it be known, AxB *DEMANDS* AEW unify the belts on Mercedes Mone.  Someone's making very good use of their $99 subscription! 1
Cobra Commander Posted May 8 Posted May 8 only saw the Hurt Group/Company/Syndicate interview and the main event after the Royals game. Nice to see AEW supporting another cool looking theatre. Fun main event too. hey, way to pretty much miss the chair shot, director Moxley vs Joe is next week (I was thinking it was at whatever the next big show is)
Dolfan in NYC Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 Man, Moxley just wanted to stretch his hamstrings and this coward Samoa Joe just wails on his friend with a chair. The locker rooms in these old theaters are tiny! 1

Well, dang! I got EXACTLY what I hoped for! Claudio vs Joe was stiff as fuck, they kept the interference until after the match, and the good guys stood tall at the end of the show. And they had Mercedes fight instead of talk! And there was a lot of fun, crazy action in general.  I'm pretty f'n happy right now. Way to go, AEW! Cheers for that. 4
Niners Fan in CT Posted May 8 Posted May 8 That was.... a show.  A great show! There wasn't one thing that blew me away but there were a lot of several things that added up to being great entertainment. Whether it was MJF and The Hurt Syndicate or the women's fatal 4 way or Okada/Knight or the Mercedes and Hayter brawl.  Good TV. 3
DreamBroken Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Sum 41! I popped for having an opening theme back on Dynamite, hope it sticks this time. Enjoyed the Hangman/Ospreay face off. Fun 4 way opener, dug Megan Bayne just walking in and wrecking people just because since it was no DQ. Love to see Rhino, sad to see him dispatched so quickly, but hey there's varied match times! I secretly wanted Rhino to win the title with Nick going off to the Super Juniors for a few. Trios match ruled, all action with great spots all around. Surprised to see Swerve take the pin. Liked the chaos leading in to Knight/Okada, had me wanting to see Speedball/Rush and Speedball/Okada matches. Love the unique atmosphere setting for the Mercedes/Jamie brawl. Feeling that could go either way right now at Double or Nothing. Solid main event from Joe/Claudio, nice finish and show closing action.  3
southofheavy Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I work at that venue and didn't get scheduled, nor could I afford to take the night off at any of my jobs so I could go to the show. I made money, yeah, but I'd rather see AEW live for goddamn FREE. Or, at the very least, serve beers to fans of the professional wrestling. P.S. - I hope no one got lost in that building tonight. That place is a fucking LABYRINTH. 3 1
Go2Sleep Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Of all the people who don't need to be going 10 minutes, 2025 Rhino is at the top of the list. Maybe he could've gored Kip Sabian first, but that was exactly the kind of match I'm looking for on my weekly shows. Not everything needs to be 5* Okada/Knight was pretty good despite falling into the trap of being longer than the story required. Okada mixed up his TV formula and let his heel personality shine through. Knight is a super athlete with a decent amount of physical charisma despite not establishing much on-screen personality yet. Speedball as the Steamboat-level pure babyface is working for me. I'd love to see Jet Speed vs. FTR down the line. I think every match had a really good finish. Â 2
HarryArchieGus Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) I’m all for Dynamite having an opening video, but using yesteryear mall punk is amongst my least favourite musical choices possible. I’d gladly take Mike Ruckus (and gleefully the Pointer sisters) over this one. Disappointed, but I suppose it’s better than nothing. Edited May 8 by HarryArchieGus 1
Casey Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Sir, that song is a year old. If Sum 41 is "yesteryear" then the Point Sisters are fuckin' ancient. Also, I assume everyone forgot Collision was on tonight, lol. ZACH GOWEN versus Ricochet is happening next week. NXT guy Je'Von Evans called TK a crackhead and he took that as a challenge! Also, Skye Blue returns next week (to lose in a four way Title Eliminator match, with Toni & two mystery women). Edited May 9 by Casey 1
Nice Guy Eddie Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Yeah, I forgot Collision was on tonight until there was about 15 minutes left of the show. I'll catch it on demand over the weekend. So, what was I watching that had me forget about Collision? Re-runs of Shipping Wars on the FYI network. 3
