Worst case scenario, she can still wrestle as Pizza Cat.

Yes, Billie Starkz is already campaigning for this match, since she's Pizza Cat Jr.

I feel like this was explained by Bix once that the wrestlers sign the trademark over while under contract for licensing but it reverts to them after release. I can't remember how it came up. And maybe he was wrong? I'm not sure. But she definitely was Shotzi and has some sort of tank before WWE.

Yeah, they basically license the name to WWE until they're no longer working for WWE. Similar thing with Cena and Orton for example. If WWE tried to keep the Shotzi Blackheart name I assume a quick lawsuit would solve that.

ObWrestling: I know I say this here every few years, but I still want to see a one-night tournament where a chickenshit heel pays other heels to jump them 9 seconds into the match for the first 2 rounds (causing the heel to win by DQ) so that the finale is a babyface who's won 2 wars vs a heel who's fresh as a daisy...and then the face guts it out and wins.

The Ruthless Pro Wrestling King of the Kill works like that. It's an annual 8 man, one night Deathmatch tournament, where the winner then gets to challenge last year's winner, and whoever wins that match holds the trophy for the year. And their title shot (which is also a Deathmatch) happens that same night.

They just clean up all of the glass from the ring, fill it with fresh weapons, and then the guy who has had three deathmatches that night fights someone who's been hanging out with commentary all night.

In an odd silver lining note... in all likelihood Kross probably legit worked his way off of this "future endeavored" list with his recent work and should probably be proud of that.

I know Styles said a few months ago that he owns his stage name and the P1 logo on his tights, and licenses them to whoever he signs with as part of the deal.

None of these releases strike me as odd. The two biggest names are Kai and Strowman. Kai is injury-prone and mainly just acted as a cheerleader for better workers. Strowman is a bum. He gets brought back as part of the post-Vince amnesty, and right away he cuts a Twitter promo whining about vanilla midgets like he's Kevin Nash in 1998 (2025 Nash has of course moved on to making the same argument about women.) And did the guy ever make any kind of effort to freshen up his look or gimmick, beyond maybe changing the shade of his wifebeater or the pocket location on his faux cargo pant wrestling tights? He seems like the kind of guy who thinks a long beard is his personality...

Big fan of this name/persona.  We have a pizza joint called Pizza Cat here that I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Toledo.

What the people really want is Pizza Cat vs Pizza Cat Junior.

(When Shotzi got signed, they had Billie Starkz take over the Pizza Cat gimmick, as Shotzi's faux daughter)

The thing is, the wrestler has to be smart enough to negotiate that for themselves. Years ago, Curt Stallion 100% signed over his gimmick name to WWE and then had to become Stallion Rogers after he was released

Man I hate corporations as much as the next guy but I feel like WWE has been doing the post Mania cuts for years now even prior to TKO.

Saddest thing was listening to Bailey on Insight yesterday and at least half the girls she rattled off as carrying the torch in to the future for the women were cut. 😔

While you are probably right, the fact he lost to Dragon Lee on Main Event the very next week tells me it didn't have actual impact

Can't find confirmation but apparently Shinsuke Nakamura has given his notice to WWE.

They dropped the ball with him. I speak only for myself but I lost interest in his WWE run after seemingly 3 times in a row him vs AJ ended with Nakamura kicking AJ Styles in the balls.

A return to New Japan seems likely. I kinda want to see him in AEW but there’s a lot of people in AEW that are just kinda there and I don’t want Nakamura to kinda just be there he was kinda just there in WWE.

Unless Nakamura comes in and beats Moxley for the World Title and holds it for a nice amount of time and has bangers with the likes of a Lashley Ospreay Joe Okada Hangman Swerve Nick Wayne etc then I’m all for it.

If you think Nakamura's busting out bangers anymore, you haven't watched any non-big show Nakamura, ever.

He's probably gonna go coast in NOAH for the rest of his career, unless Goto needs another old man to pad his defense stats.

Seems like just rumors with no real confirmation, probably someone just making it up based on recent events. I do believe that Nakamura's contract won't be renewed as he seems pretty "done" with WWE but doesn't seem to be imminent. I assume his post-WWE career whenever it starts will be doing spot shows for NOAH and New Japan but I don't see him ever having a full time schedule again, I am sure he made plenty of money in WWE and he's kinda washed. Not broken-washed like Naito but just generally not near the level he was even five/six years ago. But he's been wrestling for 23 years, he's earned the break.

Shinsuke Nakamura never recovered from losing WWE Championship matches to Jinder Mahal in 2017. Such stupid decisions from the senile old man in charge. WWE tried rebooting Shinsuke Nakamura winning the 2018 Royal Rumble match but then he went on to lose to AJ Styles at WWE WrestleMania XXXIV in such a disappointing match. Didn't come close nor did the rematches to their NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 match. Lightning in a bottle that. The rest were big letdowns. Shinsuke Nakamura phoned WWE and NJPW matches with the odd exceptions.

Tbf Nakamura being paired with Boogs was great, and that probably could have been a big act for a while if Rick The Stick hadn't got injured. Admittedly Bugenhagen wasn't a great worker, but he was fine in tags.

Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs pays tribute to the NWO : r/SquaredCircle

So to the surprise of nobody,  the WWE signed Albert Del Rio along with a number of other AAA people.   I guess they had no choice because he is the champ

I naively was hoping differently. Fuck Alberto Del Rio.

Didn't they also sign La Heidra, who Vaquer has a restraining order against, as well as maybe some other people who are pals with the guy who tried to kill her?

Another week, another "this fucking company" post.

I'm doing my best to stay out of this one but the line "Repeat the verse, same as the first" will be a thing for some time.

Yeah, but they don't really feature those guys. They only showcase non-problematic people like Pat McAfee and Logan Paul, so it's fine.
