But speaking of things not surprising,  the Caps as heavy favorite struggling against an 8 seed and needing OT.  They did win but yeah I expect more of this

Should note that Tampa Bay held the Panthers to their lowest shot total of the season (16). 

The Panthers also shot 38%, which... I guess is good?

Look for Aaron Ekblad to get a game himself for the Misawa elbow he hit Hagel with in game 4. In keeping with playoff tradition, despite being clearly seen by a referee 8 feet away, there was no penalty.

The guy who attempted to murder Girgenson should be suspended for life plus 10 years like Danny Davis was. That was among the most reckless and inexcusable hits I have ever seen.

I need to call the A/V tech...  my monitor went fuzzy, so anything remotely like that.   That coward Hagel *clearly* jumped into Ek's elbow in order to draw a penalty.

Hey, it worked for Jamie Benn last night against Colorado. He literally just skated right into a stick, lifted it up a bit and flopped to draw a penalty. And it worked.

He put Dylan Larkin in traction with a crosscheck on a faceoff. And wasn't penalized in any way for it. How I long for the days of Darren McCarty or Bob Probert.

Capitals getting past their biggest hurdle and that is beating a team in the 1st round that they should have.

Colorado just couldn't handle giving Pete DeBoer his first ever loss in a game 7 (he's now 9-0) or Jared Bednar his first win (now 0-4),so they gagged away a 2-0 last in the 3rd to lose 4-2. Former Av Miko Rantanen had a had trick and assist to eliminate Colorado. Colorado hasn't won a game 7 in over 20 years.

I could not bear to watch game 7 with friends last night. Didn't want to be in a group if it went tits up. 

Fingers crossed that Scheif and Morrisey are back for Wednesday, and hoping I don't see Logan Stanley on the ice for the rest of the playoffs.
