worldcupfever Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Knicks have to be looking at Michael Malone, I would think. 1

For a team that has only ever had one idea for jersey design, they reached their peak during the T-Mac era where the pin stripes were stars. These are just the same idea they've always had done worse. At a certain point they have to ditch the replace the 'A' with a star, right? https://www.ecapcity.com/cdn/shop/products/orlando-magic-tracy-mcgrady-_1-swingman-jersey-1.jpg?v=1604006029 1
RIPPA Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 I fucking love that he is using I went to St John's as a selling point 1

He's the kind of coach you want to get a team to exactly where the Knicks are right now, but I wouldn't trust him to take them over the top. I know he has a ring, but he also had the best player in the league playing at his absolute best. The Knicks have a very good roster, but they don't have the kind of force of nature that Giannis was that season. They need a strategist who can adjust to their opponents in real time, and Bud does not do that.
Brian Fowler Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Who is available that is really good at developing bench players into decent rotation pieces? Because the Knicks bench kinda sucks, and Thibs was the absolute worst guy to improve the players there. Their starters finished 1st, 3rd, 5th, 14th, and 20th in minutes per game this year.

COACH METTA 2 1
Brian Fowler Posted June 6 Posted June 6 The Thunder are -700 to win this series, tied for the seventh biggest favorite ever, along with the 1986 Celtics (who beat the Rockets in six) and the 2004 Lakers (who got demolished in the biggest finals upset in NBA history by the Pistons in five.) 04 is the only upset amongst the top ten longest odds list, so it's a real uphill climb for Indiana but it has been done once.

RIPPA Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 So apparently the Knicks are only interested in you if you are currently coaching a NBA team The asked permission to interview Ime Udoka and Chris Finch and were denied on both accounts They also reportedly want to talk to Jason Kidd but apparently haven't asked for permission yet
Zimbra Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Dallas has officially denied them permission to talk to Kidd. I'm starting to think James Dolan might not be a master tactician.
RIPPA Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 Add Quin Snyder to the list of coaches the Knicks were denied permission to interview

worldcupfever Posted June 12 Posted June 12 We get closer to METTA being the last man standing as the Bulls deny permission to interview Billy Donovan.
RIPPA Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 A lot of Knicks fans are coping by believing that every team does this now - it just usually doesn't get reported but Shams is desperate for clicks so he is gleefully tweeting about each one There is also a lot of "The worst thing is a team will say no - so why don't you try!" I am kinda excited to see where the cutoff is in terms of current coaches is because that might give a lot of current teams info about their current head coach if the Knicks are all "Yeah we don't need to talk to them"
Brian Fowler Posted June 12 Posted June 12 So did the Knicks literally fire Thibs with no viable plan for his replacement? Cause it sure looks that way.
