The press conferences are also being held in a tool shed

(The Radio broadcast also had all sorts of problems but I am not sure that was a stadium issue or something else)

Over his last 134 games, Aaron Judge is hitting .358 with 58 homers and an .802 slugging percentage.

Padres are extended Jackson Merrill

9 year extension that guarantees $135 million

There is a club option for a tenth year

Not sure if includes this season or not - but basically buys out his pre and arb years along with at least his first 4 years of FA

Can't wait till they trade him for .30 on the $ in three years. . .

The Braves are the last winless team in the Majors.

Marcell Ozuna is their best hitter right now, and he's batting .216

It was a formality at this point - but the Rays stadium agreement with Tampa is officially dead as the offer expired at midnight, March 31 and the Rays didn't submit any documentation to move forward with the agreement

So basically the Rays are free to negotiate with any city to play their games in after the 2028 season (the current agreement with the city and team was set to expire in 2027 but it gets extended one year for every year the team doesn't play in the Trop hence why its now after the 2028 season)

Obviously MLB is gonna have a HUGE say in the future of the team since Manfred keeps insisting that MLB wants a team in Tampa

The Rays should have released an April Fool's agreement announcement just to troll everyone.

I was trying to listen on the MLB app but it would randomly jump to some sports talk that seemed to be national and not a local show.  I had assumed it was a WSCR thing at first since I was listening to the Cubs feed but the same thing was happening when I switched to the A's feed, and their announcers acknowledged an issue when the game came back.  Very weird.

The Dodgers beat the Braves on an Ohtani walkoff HR in extra innings

They are now 8-0 which sets the MLB record for longest winning streak by reigning champion (previously held by the '32 Yankees)

On the flip side - the Braves are now 0-7

No team in MLB history has made the playoffs after starting 0-7. In fact, it has been 42 years since a team that started 0-7 finished with a winning record

The Reds become the 2nd team in the live ball era(so since 1920) to lose three straight games 1-0

The only other team to do it was the 1960 Phillies

In another reminder why its silly for Detroit to have home games this early...

All three games this week against the Yankees have had their starting times moved up due to wind chills in the 20s and "other weather considerations" (snow - they mean snow)

Monday's game will now be 3:10 PM (was 6:40 PM)

Tuesday and Wednesday will now be played at 1:10 PM

Vlad Jr is getting a lot of money for a lot of years from the Blue Jays

I'm surprised he signed now rather than just wait till the end of the season to see who would be bidding like crazy. He must really like Toronto.

I think Vlad likes playing in a town where more people are concerned about who has the highest faceoff win percentages on the Maple Leafs than what he is or isn't doing

It's 14 years, $500 million

No deferred money. No trade clause

Second largest deal ever (behind the Juan Soto deal)

EDIT - also, not opt outs

As can be found in the offseason thread, I was very wrong about this. I didn't think a big boy first baseman would get that long of a deal even if the AVG was in that range. I suspect in six or seven years they will regret it but the Blue Jays have missed out on free agents lately they wanted so I can understand them wanting to lock up one of their young stars and maybe show FAs in the future that they mean business.

Victor Robles made an insane catch crashing into the wall at not Candlestick and in the process completely torched his elbow/shoulder

Had to be carted off

The board hates me otherwise I would post the clip

Unless I saw it wrong, it looks like the protective netting is what caused the injury?

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Yeah, it was the netting.

Victor Robles has a small fracture in his left shoulder. The team doesn’t believe it will require surgery but he is expected to miss 12 weeks

Don't see this much on the pro level:

I think it has to be on the CF, not only because it landed at his feet but the LF is in his first game in left in the majors.

100% on the CF.
