RIPPA Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 The press conferences are also being held in a tool shed (The Radio broadcast also had all sorts of problems but I am not sure that was a stadium issue or something else)
Tabe Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 Over his last 134 games, Aaron Judge is hitting .358 with 58 homers and an .802 slugging percentage. 1
RIPPA Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Padres are extended Jackson Merrill 9 year extension that guarantees $135 million There is a club option for a tenth year Not sure if includes this season or not - but basically buys out his pre and arb years along with at least his first 4 years of FA

Dolfan in NYC Posted April 2, 2025 Author Posted April 2, 2025 The Braves are the last winless team in the Majors. Marcell Ozuna is their best hitter right now, and he's batting .216

I had assumed it was a WSCR thing at first since I was listening to the Cubs feed but the same thing was happening when I switched to the A's feed, and their announcers acknowledged an issue when the game came back. Very weird.
Cobra Commander Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Royals scored 2 runs in 20 innings to close out the Brewers series, so bat discourse isn't dead yet
RIPPA Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 The Dodgers beat the Braves on an Ohtani walkoff HR in extra innings They are now 8-0 which sets the MLB record for longest winning streak by reigning champion (previously held by the '32 Yankees) On the flip side - the Braves are now 0-7 No team in MLB history has made the playoffs after starting 0-7. In fact, it has been 42 years since a team that started 0-7 finished with a winning record
Dolfan in NYC Posted April 3, 2025 Author Posted April 3, 2025 George is going to crawl out of his grave and choke Michael Kay to death. 1
RIPPA Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 The Reds become the 2nd team in the live ball era(so since 1920) to lose three straight games 1-0 The only other team to do it was the 1960 Phillies
Cobra Commander Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 the Road Warrior Athletics get to follow up three games in Sacramento with playing in the snow in Denver
RIPPA Posted April 6, 2025 Posted April 6, 2025 In another reminder why its silly for Detroit to have home games this early... All three games this week against the Yankees have had their starting times moved up due to wind chills in the 20s and "other weather considerations" (snow - they mean snow) Monday's game will now be 3:10 PM (was 6:40 PM) Tuesday and Wednesday will now be played at 1:10 PM
Cobra Commander Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Vlad Jr is getting a lot of money for a lot of years from the Blue Jays

He must really like Toronto.

RIPPA Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 It's 14 years, $500 million No deferred money. No trade clause Second largest deal ever (behind the Juan Soto deal) EDIT - also, not opt outs

I didn't think a big boy first baseman would get that long of a deal even if the AVG was in that range. I suspect in six or seven years they will regret it but the Blue Jays have missed out on free agents lately they wanted so I can understand them wanting to lock up one of their young stars and maybe show FAs in the future that they mean business.
RIPPA Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Victor Robles made an insane catch crashing into the wall at not Candlestick and in the process completely torched his elbow/shoulder Had to be carted off The board hates me otherwise I would post the clip 1

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

RIPPA Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Victor Robles has a small fracture in his left shoulder. The team doesn’t believe it will require surgery but he is expected to miss 12 weeks
Kevin Wilson Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Don't see this much on the pro level: I think it has to be on the CF, not only because it landed at his feet but the LF is in his first game in left in the majors.
