Oh and that near fall where Mercedes just grazes the rope with her foot.  Another reason why she's one of the best. Crazy ring awareness.

Everyone played their part in that false finish perfectly.  Starkz had a great facial expression... not the typical "OMG" trope face.  The ref came so close to counting three that at first I thought he was blowing the finish spot, especially since he recently did miss a foot on the rope in that FTR/Undisputed match. And Mercedes bumped so tight on that Buca-storm that you didn't notice she just casually draped her foot across the rope, because you're looking to she if she is OK.

Fucking pro wrestling man!

the ratings dropping off as the show went on pretty much every week comes to mind with the match order tonight

the "put the main event on mid-show" approach could make sense here if there wasn't a precedent of just airing the entire main event even if it took until 10 after the hour

Man, Mone/Starks was great as was Bayne/Stat and all of the post match shenanigans. I almost expected Thunder Rosa to come out with Stat to counter Penelope Ford, who I'm assuming is officially a team with Bayne.

I have nothing but good things to say about tonight's show. One thing that will probably get overlooked about tonight was Mark Davis being in beast mode. I almost bought that he was going to win when he hit that pendulum piledriver.

I didn't even hate Moxley/Cope, which is saying something considering I skipped the Revolution match, mostly because it was 4:30 am and I was dead tired.

once Moxley loses the title and they open the briefcase, they'll see a note telling them that Moxley buried the title under a tree, leading to a story line inspired by Rat Race

I'd rather the briefcase contain diamonds or Moxley's soul, so we can come up with more fan faction about Wheeler Yuta being Marvin and getting his head blown off.

I was confused when the world title match started halfway through the show, but I figured by the time the show was over it would be clear why it couldn't have been put in the main event slot. But as it happens, not so much. Anybody have any thoughts?

Mea culpa for Revolution >_>

Aw man I shot Yuta in the face!  😞

I got slapped in the face by the realization of how aged i am in 2025 because my first thought upon seeing the Mox spot was "Goddamn how many sixth-generation dubbed VHS tapes of that spot would Dave's Wrestling Emporium have sold back in the day?" and then realizing that it has been at least 25 years since I last thought of that website.

Y'know, Toni/Mariah was awesome. I wasn't a fan of the glass, but that whole angle and match was done so well and it was fitting.

That said...

...I really, really wish AEW would drop the death match horseshit. That spiked bat spot was so fucking dumb.

Toni is more over than Mox and nobody cares about the World title right now.

Tbh, Toni's the Ace of the company right now.

Mox is too goddamn dumb anymore to be the champion. Don't feud with a 51 year old over a title that no one can see.

With his Vinyard-brother lookin' ass.

Still gotta watch Billie vs Mercedes, but Bayne/Stat was clubberin' on the mothership. More of that, plz.

I watched the most recent Your Mom’s House Live and the spikes in Moxley’s back tonight had me screaming more than the “heavy” segment did during the YMH Live show.

Good rasslin show all around. I really liked the format for the show too with the match order being what it was.

4 way was a super fun opener. I figured Ricochet to win but I can dig the triple threat. Loving Speedball's run already, great exchanges with Orange.

Mercedes/Billie was excellent. Enjoyed the chaos of Moxley/Cope. I'm with Ospreay for All In, digging the importance being put on the Owen Cup.  Good main,  Bayne/Toni will rule.

Jon Moxley drove 11 hours to get there, get hit with a board with nails in and got stuck in his back. Fair play.

That's probably the sickest AEW spot I've seen. Others:

  • The hypodermic needle to Swerve Strickland's cheek by Hangman Adam Page at AEW All Out 2024. Hated that.
  • Hangman Adam Page drinking Swerve Strickland's blood at AEW Full Gear 2023. Hated that.
  • Timeless Toni Storm and Mariah May taping broken glass to their hands in the Hollywood Ending, AEW Revolution 2025.
  • The skewers to Jon Moxley's head in Stadium Stampede, AEW All In 2023.
  • Darby Allin going through a glass pane from a ladder teaming with Sting vs. The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution 2024.

What a phenomenal episode of dynamite.  I really enjoy the level of importance they're putting on the Owen this year.  Starkz/Mone was phenomenal TV, as was Bayne/Stat.  I even loved the hell out of Mox/Cope and the 16 year old Ghoul in me was cheering wildly for mox getting planted on the spikes.

I often wonder if the sponsors say anything to Tony about you know... life in general or anything.

I need a worker to explain this spot to me.  I'd guess the majority of those nails were rubber?  Or did Mox just see Sami and Kevin using razor wire at the PPV and just thought the f slur.

I'm guessing some were rubber, some were filed down and some were real but going by Mox's history, I wouldn't be surprised it was all legit.

Yeah I think Spike is the opposite of what I dig in my garbage wrestling. It looks gimmicky and stupid, but actually hurts. I think the goal is to present violence that looks authentic and grimy, but doesn’t actually hurt

It’s a close cousin of the Fiend’s mallet

So in AEW we've had the following used:

  • Barbed wire.
  • Glass.
  • Broken glass.
  • Hypodermic needle.
  • Thumbtacks.
  • Glass panes.
  • Tables.
  • Chairs.
  • Stairs.
  • Light tubes.
  • Pizza cutter.
  • Electrified barbed wire.
  • Skewers.
  • Fire.
  • A board with nails/spikes in.
  • Staple gun.
  • Cinder block.
  • Screwdriver.

Only thing I can think off we haven't is a weedwacker/garden strimmer.

From looking at Mox's back afterwards, the nail board was clearly gimmicked in some way but I just don't know the science behind it. The wounds weren't even bleeding anymore so they weren't deep cuts like what happened to Darby with the glass. I can understand how they could be made safer but the combination of don't go in deep but still being able to stick in him without coming out is as science I'm not fully able to explain.

Don't forget Rush's neon green extension cord they kept bringing for some reason.
