🎼 I'm a sailor peg, and I've lost my leg... Climbing up the top sails, I lost my leg...

Too many people use that Top o' the morn... so I'll just wish everyone a happy St. Patrick's Day.  We start the week off with NEW World Tag Team champions!  As those Irish rogues, the Street Profits are now two time tag team champions!  Hopefully they'll get a nice long reign here, but... WrestleMania is right around the corner!

We also have a NEW NXT Women's Champion!  North American champ Stephanie Vaquer is your new standard bearer at the Black & Gold brand.  And now, will Stephanie Dos Correas hold on to both?  Let's see...

🇮🇪 I'm shipping up to Boston, whoa! I'm shipping up to Boston, whoa! I'm shipping up to Boston, whoa! I'm shipping off to find my wooden leg....

This week on Raw...  we're in BRUSSELS!  So, the live show will begin at 3 PM EDT!   Those of you in Euro Zone (or former Euro Zone) locations... do the math.

It's all about JOHN CENA returning to tell everyone what they can all go do with themselves.  This is his first heel promo in 22 years(!), so I'm guessing he's got a LOT to get off his chest.

Also:

  •  Penta vs Ludwig Kaiser in a No Holds Barred Match
  • Bron Breakker vs Finn Bálor for the Intercontinental Championship
  • Dakota Kai vs Ivy Nile
  • Jey Uso vs Austin Theory

(Tiocfaidh ár lá Tiocfaidh ár lá)

Enjoy your week!

Poor R-Truth is going to get battered by his childhood hero, John Cena.

As much as I know this should and needs to happen, im still going to be heartbroken when it does.

One thing I was wondering with the move to Netflix: Was Raw going to air live when they go overseas?  I'm glad to get my first fix of afternoon Raw, on my phone, at the office 😆

lol so I was 100% right that they already had a metric ton of pre-produced, city-specific babyface Cena gear that they have to keep selling, no matter what.

Not quite Super Bowl champions Buffalo Bills merch, but similar.

Loved Cena's promo. Cody's rebuttal was not bad, but didn't really compare.

Kaiser/Penta was good. Was neat hearing Corey mention his brother putting over how good Penta is.

Dakota/Ivy was fine while it lasted.

Jey/Theory being a squash was unexpected. Will say Jey either needs to give up the spear or ask Bron or Roman to teach him how to do it right. Still, it was nice to see Jey get one over on Gunther post match.

The Bianca/Io/Rhea segments were solid. Its nice seeing Io be so over among the European crowds. Was amused to see Pearce compliment o and Bianca on their professionalism only for Rhea to ruin it all for him.

Creeds/LWO was fun while it lasted. Did enjoy Corey mentioning other possibilities for the American Made luchador given past Masked American gimmicks.

Bron/Finn was solid, but it does feel like there is a much better match to be had between them. Still dug what we got and the clear setups for Finn/Dom.

Not a great show wrestling wise. None of the matches were bad, but it didn't really feel like they got the chance to be more than decent beyond Penta/Kaiser & Bron/Finn. Still the crowd was pretty into everything and the Cena promo delivered. Pretty decent show.

I might have to watch it again.  Cena's promo was good but it didn't move me the way some historical heel promos have.  I much prefer Hogan's 'Bash at the Beach' promo or anything from Bret in 1997.

Again, it was good but the reasoning and all that felt a bit forced.  The crowd was fucking great though.

Other things that happened on RAW:  Well,  we knew that Rhea would be added to this women's title match somehow and they did it in quite possibly the laziest fucking way ever. They are actually making Rhea unlikable.

I agree with this and my initital reaction to all of this is that I don't like how Io, despite being champion, seems like the third wheel and the add on.  I hope she walks out of mania still the champ.

I agree with you but I feel like Hunter is pump faking on giving us Rhea and Bianca.  It's like he doesn't want to decide on who should win so he puts Iyo in there to take the fall.

Bianca/Io/Rhea is giving me Charlotte being inserted into the title match at WM 35 vibes. As much as I like Rhea, she doesn't need to be involved in this. Io getting pissed about not being taken seriously is a good storyline in itself and I hope they find something else for Rhea to do in the next few weeks.

What is there for Rhea to do? Go back to something with Liz and/or Raquel?

I heard someone speculate they could be heading toward Rhea/Jade vs Bianca/Naomi, but the optics of that are strange.

I have a gut feeling that the Cena/Cody segment went rather long and all the matches in the back half of the show had their times cut due to it.

Cena is an all-time great on the stick, and the crowd was great fun, but I thought it was a soft promo in terms of content. Kind of a bog standard WWE “You People” heel turn promo that doesn’t actually explain anything. There were so many Vince-isms, it wouldn’t surprise me if he called up his buddy to focus test it.

I thought Cena's promo was good, but I was expecting so much more from it. I wanted to know why he's in league with The Rock. I mean it makes sense he's sick of the people making him the butt of jokes. But i would have liked a little more. Hopefully we get that in the coming weeks. Cody's response about Cena being a whiney bitch was perfect though. Cena looked so defeated...but that could be a lack of sleep. I assume the guy works crazy hours shooting his movies in addition to everything else he does.

All I know is that it's 2025 and I heard the names Del Wilkes and Tom Brandi on my television.

If Cena would have just noted that he went to Hollywood and for once got treated with love and respect which made him realize how toxic the WWE Universe is it probably would have fully squared that circle. Would explain why now, why with the Rock, etc.

I do wonder if that would perhaps hit a bit too close to home though.

I guess we're supposed to draw the parallels between "Let's go Cena/Cena sucks" and "Rocky Rocky/Die Rocky Die"?
