Catching up on this thread, I am gutted to hear we'll be losing Abadon. Always thought it was cool that despite never having a major push, they got to be featured in the video game. the Abadon Halloween Deathmatches were some of my favorite matches anytime they happened, most recently last year against Athena on ROH was awesome. It's only been a few weeks since their last match aired on Honor, going over Rachael Ellering. Whatever happens next, I hope to see lots more Abadon in the future.

Comoroto has been out since having hip surgery last summer so it'll be sad to see him just let go like that too. Thought he had potential to do at least a little more than he was given and hoped his ROH angle with Jacoby Watts would lead to something.

What do you think are the big 5 AEW PPV like WWE's big five?

Revolution, Double or Nothing, Forbidden Door, All In and Full Gear.

The first four are set in stone. It was between All Out and Full Gear for the final place.

How would you compare them to the WWE big five?

All In is WrestleMania. A stadium show. Name of the event in 2018 which began the ball rolling for AEW existence.

Double or Nothing. Probably SummerSlam, the second biggest WWE show of the year. FYI it's always been the Royal Rumble for me. Double or Nothing is on a par with All In as the first AEW PPV ever.

Revolution is Royal Rumble. The start of the year for both. Again the Rumble is the second biggest PLE to me.

Forbidden Door is Elimination Chamber or Money in the Bank as both see two brands going at it for supremacy.

Full Gear is Survivor Series, both in November.

Exactly.  Danielson is awesome but no way did he need a gold watch reign with less than four months left on his full time career.  That was absolutely TK making a markish decision.

My pet theory is that TK thought Danielson would be able to go longer than he did, but his neck was too jacked up so they had to pull the trigger on the Death Riders angle early and have pretty much been vamping since then.

I'm glad Bryan Danielson finally won the AEW World Championship but it should have happened two years earlier at Grand Slam Dynamite 2022 when Moxley beat him for the vacant belt. We missed out on Danielson vs. Punk at All Out 2022. Instead we got Mox vs. Punk, Punk tearing his triceps and Brawl Out.

I'm gonna be honest I was really confused when Momo Watanabe showed up on Dynamite because I have apparently been conflating her with Tomo Watanabe for years.

That's who I thought Momo was, too!

Well, for starters, her name isn't Tomo, it's Tomoko....

It would pretty notable if Tomoko Watanabe in her 50s was wrestling for Stardom.

Also, I am pretty sure Momo was in a tag team match in a pre show before a PPV not too long ago.

Yeah, I know. I'd assume that was just an abbreviation on purpose by @Zimbra to make the names sound more similar. I knew I had first read that name a LONG time ago, so obviously the ages don't align at all, but you know, what are the odds there'd be TWO people named Watanabe in wrestling?

It’s one of the most common surnames in Japan (it’s either fifth or sixth). It’s like saying “what are the odds of there being multiple people named Jones?”

Yeah, was going to add something like "that's like having more than guy named Cage in wrestling, like that's gonna happen", but I'm done with people not getting my jokes for today, so I decided against it. Apparently, the right call.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Revolution had the company’s biggest PPV numbers since All In. First-week estimates are between 135,000 to 140,000 buys.

A nice bump!

I'm sure when Megan Bayne came in for a special guest appearance, she was accompanied by two female servants. Since signing with AEW, she's not had them since returning from injury, right?

Not really, but unfortunately I think she made that huge headpiece of hers from those poor ladies, so kinda.

That was a part of her indie entrances too, she would always have at least a couple of ring crew members in Togas accompanying her. It was because her gimmick was that she was a Greek Goddess, and the best way to illustrate that is with worshippers. As far as why she's not doing it any more, I would guess that because it was never a permanent role for any one person but instead an interchangeable "Whoever's there" thing, they figured it was unnecessary. Or perhaps it's a faction fatigue thing.

I'm pretty sure that she is the ZAP with Dump, unless Ito lost 75 pounds, so she has been in Stardom recently.

It was Tomoko because I just remembered seeing Kaoru Ito walking around at the 1/3 Marigold show that took place at the same time as ZAP appearing for Stardom.

Kaoru Ito hasn't been a ZAP since either 2020 or 2021 either. I can't remember when Tomoko shortened her version from ZAP T to just ZAP but it stood out a lot more when Kaoru stopped working as ZAP I.

This is a joke, but they probably don't want to hire anyone for it to avoid another Tate brothers issue.

I know I try to avoid the Tate brothers and their "matrix" nonsense whenever possible...

Apparently the reason the tag team of Lio Rush and Action Andretti are called CRU is because it's an acronym for Crazy Ruthless Unhinged.

Yeah, that's not a backronym at all.

I'm not sure if you're making a joke or not, but he's talking about Dalton Castle's the Boys.

It's okay, I'm 0-2 in this thread this month for jokes.

anyway is Billie Starkz versus Mercedes official or what? I don't think I've seen a match graphic on their socials yet, but Billie is posting on Twitter like it is. I know she's polarizing among a few people here, but that match is gonna FUCK if they get a decent little chunk of time.
