Zimbra Posted March 7 Posted March 7 AEW is going to let Abadon and Nick Comoroto's contracts expire. We are losing our AEW Dark stars. 7
Curt McGirt Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I hate to suggest TNA -- especially as dead in the water they are right now, and affiliated with you-know-who -- but Abadon could have either a hell of a feud or a hell of a team with Rosemary and Jessicka.

Fuck All Ex WWE era AEW. Nicky Boy is a million times more entertaining in the ring than fucking Edge and Abandon is INFINITELY more entertaining than Mercedes Mone speaking in that stinted phony WWE cadence. How the fuck can nobody at AEW see that? This shit just ain't for me at all any more. 2

Comoroto is engaged with a friend of a friend of a friend that lives not too far from me. So in the few times my friend talked with him Nick was not happy at all with AEW. A lot of times hanging out he would complain about what they were having him do and his ideas sounded a little far-fetched given what he's been doing. I'll miss some of the stuff he did but hopefully wherever he goes he's happier. Now Abadon leaving is a goddamn shame. I just love them to bits and it really sucks that more wasn't done to market the hell out of them. I get there was room to improve initially and Abadon's done a lot of that but while it was great seeing the ROH matches I can't help but wonder what could have been. I'm also more bummed because a couple years ago we met them at a convention and they were such a sweet person. I hope to see them around here if there's consideration of doing all the indies possible. EDIT: Also, I feel Godi's pain. Dark/Elevation was such a wonderful time and the people the people being used were lots of fun. I don't see it exactly the way as Gordi sees it but stuff like this bums me out. TheVileOne Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I always thought Abadon had a cool look and gimmick and Comoroto had potential. Sad to see them leave. Losing Dark and Elevation did more damage than I expected. They at least served an important purpose in giving some other talents matches and ring time. 2

It's a shame too, because IMO, the undercard for AEW is coming back/on strong, but Edge v Mox isn't it for me. I said it in another thread, i think the perception of AEW is a million times better if MJF/Hangman is your world title feud How Abadon has barely been on TV is beyond me. 3 1

Anything less would be uncivilized. Why not both? Probably feud first, then team later, because Bayne is hanging around Ford right now. But yes, now that Bayne faced Stat already, Hayter is very logical future opponent for her! 1
stuntmanc Posted March 7 Posted March 7 i know it's been discussed, but the fall of Hayer from being one of the most over acts in AEW to now is something. I know the injury took her out for a long time, but when she came back, it seemed like she was an afterthought. Even her return was on the preshow of All In. I was in the building when she won the AEW Womens Title and it was one of, if not the loudest pop of the night. I want her back and featured prominently in the worst way. She was/is too damn good. Her v Bayne would definitely be something. 3

I think a lot of people have trouble buying someone looking like an extra from Almost Famous as a tough ass kicker. 2 1
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) She just didn't seem to have any real purpose when she came back. I'm hoping when the visa issues are settled TK has a serious program for her. Her, Bayne and Stat in a hoss feud for the TBS title, with smaller challengers trying to jump in and getting destroyed by one of the three would be fun. (And for the record I really dug her new look. A lot.) Edited March 8 by RazorbladeKiss87 2
Ramo2653 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Who is that? I thought it was Allie Katch for a second, but that's not her hair color. My general thoughts on AEW: Death Riders bad. Like really really bad. Everything else pretty damn good. I'm also not into matches for matches sake right now and I'm not sure why. Just a personal feeling. I also did not have Don Callis being Bobby Heenan to Omega's Hogan but I'm glad we're here! 1
Kevin Wilson Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The positive if Cope wins Sunday, even if it annoys people on the surface level, is that it would show that TK is pivoting away from the death riders and my assumption would be Cope would be a short term champion to get the belt to Page, Ospreay, Omega, Swerve, or MJF (ie someone not in the DR vortex that fans would see as a positive direction). I don't expect it to happen but I'd actually let out a sigh of relief if Cope won even if a year ago I wouldn't have liked it.
The Green Meanie Posted March 8 Posted March 8 SUPER bummed to hear about Abadon and Nicky Boy, two of my absolute favorites. This thread just reminded me how much I, and also there world, truly miss (and need!) Dark and Dark Elevation. 2

Edge as AEW main eventer is the fucking worst. the last time i actually cared about him was in his initial "Rated R Superstar" run, with the surprise cash-in on John Cena and the whole scenario with Lita. That was 2006......19 goddamn years ago. a 51 year old should fucking never be a regular main eventer, and he should certainly not be the first and only guy that's been able to consistantly get one over on your dominant heel stable. Also, and this is just a personal issue, "Cope" is a dumb name. They should gone with "LEDGEND", like was rumored. still dumb, but at least dumb in the wrestling way. but it 100% is past time for the Death Riders to die. At this point i don't care if they move to an already established star (Ospreay, Omega, Okada, Swerve, Hangman, MJF) or a potential star that they want to elevate (Darby, Switchblade, Takeshita, Orange, Ricochet, Kyle Fletcher). Even Samoa Joe or Eddie Kingston would be good choices. The most important thing is that this angle has sucked for months and has little fan buy-in. It's over. But Edge ain't it. the only worse choice would be Jericho. 3 1
Curt McGirt Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I think it's funny that he's only 51 but looks like an age-ed, wizened mountain man who will take you to the Den of Iniquity hidden deep in the woods, but he warns you of the horrifying peril and will only do it for a price: a chance to fell the Demon within that stole his brother's soul. 2

How old are you, Curt? Because I'm 51 and I kind of feel like an aged, wizened mountain man who... etc.
stuntmanc Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Has it ever been answered why Hangman was "looking" for Swerve backstage a few weeks(month?) ago?
