It wouldn't be hard to do it that way. Jay needs to be protected right now as a future challenger, I'd only do the Cope feud if Cope's gonna put him over clean. 2 hours ago, Gordi the BJW fan said: So what you're saying is, is there's no way you would do it. HarryArchieGus Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Very, very happy with the $33 CDN spent on this PPV. The MJF v Hangman opener was a nicely contested battle. I loved the Piledriver on the chair. I kinda wanted that to be the finish. The Angels Wings was scary and brutal. Page going for the Buckshot on a downed/beaten opponent was a bit silly. MJF's dramatic spiel felt like a bit of a fail, but an amusing one at that. I loved Page getting the win. Momo v Mercedes was mostly solid as expected. They built nicely to some good action down the stretch. A bit of a weak finish, but a good showcase for Mercedes. A gritty performance from the TBS champean. Those kicks! Ricochet v Swerve was a fun 18 minutes. The bombs got a little excessive, but they finished strong. I am so goddamn thankful that Swerve didn't break his neck on that DVD spot. I wasn't fond of the Nana story, but it worked for the pop. Superfan Leslie Jones was a nice addition. Okada v Brody was a good showcase for Okada. I always welcome the Okada pacing. Yawn to the 'lazy Okada' takes. I do wish Brody had gotten a little more momentum leading to a believable false finish. He doesn't come out of this as strong as I would've liked. Lashley/Benjamin v the Outrunners was a bit disappointing. Truth Magnum's great bumping went completely unnoticed by Turb's unfortunate deer in the headlights performance. I sense they'll bounce back. Clearly there's some room to improve - the offense in particular needs tightening. Hoping for heel challengers next to the babyface Hurts. Toni v Mariah was fucking sensational. Massive points for only using truly brutal looking weapons - no shiny thin garbage cans/lids here. What a gusher from Toni! I need to see this match again, I was so captivated live, but honestly a bit scared. Mariah May brought her end and more. I sometimes think Toni Storm is the best in the business right now. 'The End' title card was a great touch - as was Toni dramatically laying with her fallen victim. I laughed, I cried. Easily one of my all time favorite AEW matches. I loved seeing Takeshita v Omega follow that. And I liked them going their own pace. It was a simple well told story working over the gut. Despite the loss, Takeshita looked like a goddamn killer. Those goddamn strikes! Omega was a salesman most of the match, and I loved what he was selling. A kinda rare awesome flash pin finish. I loved this match. I was tired and exhausted and called it a night there. I resumed this morning over breakfast. Ospreay v Fletcher in the Cage did not disappoint. I'm happy no one is hurt (or at least as of writing). Why such a tall cage? I'd rather they didn't potentially hurt themselves on a Spanish Fly. Not that it wasn't spectacular. I loved the neat touch early of Ospreay discovering he couldn't springboard because of the cage. I didn't love Mark Davis getting involved, but it was fine. Don Callis was a highlight on commentary (as per usual). Alotta fun was had. I really liked Mox v Cope as previously mentioned. I liked them doing such a simple style. Again, loved Christian with the hand pin out of the bulldog choke and into the finish. I liked this match and this was a helluva show. AEDubbya! 3

Brandon Bones Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I stopped watching the show before the main event. Greatest PPV EVER!!! 1 4
HarryArchieGus Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Enjoyable Zero Hour. I especially loved the Learning Tree/Bandido Family angle. The inital bat shot, the shock of the mask reveal, Jericho threatening a fallen Bandido over his family - all thoroughly awesome. Komander/Hologram v Lee Johnson/Blake Christian was a lot of fun. Blake Christian may have been the best wrestler in that match. That dude deserves some proper TV time. Garcia/Undisputeds v STP was a nice solid preshow bout. I'm into this Cole/Garcia rivarlry. Big Shane looked good rushing around the ring. The Infantry continue to struggle. The Dad/OC/Briscoe v MxM/Johnny TV match felt a touch embarrassing, but I think it mostly did what they needed it to do. Not such a big fan of the Taya/Johnny make-out spot. I love the Gemstones, but those two didn't need to be running in on this match. Harley should've had a more significant role. Is it possible somebody backstage got confused and sent Hobbs out for the save in the wrong match? He just tagged with Bandido, and please don't tell me he's done with Big Bill! Ash Avildsen begging ppl to go to see his movie wasn't A, uh, good look. They need to take more seriously these celebrity bits and who they let in front of a mic. I didn't see it, but read about the lady from Queen of the Ring talking about wrestlers knowing the finishes. Most of the celebrity stuff on this show was excruciatingly bad. 1
DreamBroken Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) Awesome show all the way. Hangman/MJF a good opener, popped for the Nonpoint "Bullet with a Name" feud video for it. Really loved Mercedes/Momo, thought that was a great showcase for Momo while Mercedes continues her string of excellent matches. Swerve/Ricochet ruled, this is easily the most I've ever enjoyed Ricochet. Toni/Mariah was perfect bloody violence. Agreed that it would've been the perfect show closer if it did headline, with the The End graphic and just fading out from them laid out on each other. Thought Omega/Takeshita was very good in a tough spot having to follow, then ended up loving the cage match even more. Amazing back to back to back matches. I don't think Darby necessarily has to be the guy, I think Ospreay might be the guy that beats Moxley at All In. saw Kamille posted a video trying to explain what Damaris Lewis actually meant, something more like wrestlers in general being winners, which honestly is how I took it but at the same time knew how it would be taken as soon as it was said. Didn't mind the main event but the finish was rough having Christian waste his cash in like that after all this time. Most of the match felt like just waiting for the big whatever was gonna happen, thought somebody might join the Death Riders with all the hype of Moxley being all alone but nothing there other than Yuta. Been enjoying the Jay White face run so hope there's no turn coming there, I could see him being a potential Moxley challenger still come Double or Nothing, since he still never got a 1 on 1 shot against him. fun preshow as well. Will always mark for all the Big BOOM involvement. Was intrigued by Jericho wrestling on the preshow, too bad no match but a solid angle anyway. Edited March 11 by DreamBroken 4
Technico Support Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Can someone refresh my memory? What was the WCW match where Hogan pinned Flair even though Flair wasn’t even in the match? Was it Hogan/Vader? God damn, you know you ran a bad finish in your main when it has me thinking of Hogan pre-NWO WCW. 1 2

The Natural Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I'd say the big triple crown was the AEW World Championship, the AEW TNT Championship and AEW World Tag Team Championship. The AEW TNT Championship was replaced as the secondary championship by the AEW International Championship a while ago. Sucks to say as the AEW TNT Championship is the oldest one. Kenny Omega has won the AEW World Tag Team Championship, AEW World Championship, AEW World Trios Tag Team Championship and the AEW International Championship.

Leonidas Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Oh yeah that Learning Tree / Familia Bandido segment was actually really powerful stuff. Heading towards Jericho vs Bandido - Title vs Mask? Love that. 1
stuntmanc Posted March 11 Posted March 11 In my initial viewing, i fell asleep before Mox/Cope, simply because it was a long day, even longer PPV and then that three match gauntlet of Toni/Mariah, Kenny/Takeshita, Ospreay/fletcher was just overwhelming in the best way. I went back and watched the Mox/Cope match after reading all of the blowback here and other outlets. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I've never been an "Edge" guy but i thought they put together a solid, nicely worked match(outside of that horrific Paradigm Shift), Christian's involvement was as well done as it could be and I'm probably one of the only people happy Mox won(when the alternatives are Edge of Christian, despite me being a fan of everything Christian has done in AEW). The Death Riders stink on the match pretty much had it dead in the water from the start and following that murderer's row did it no favors. I do have to appreciate Mox/Cope for what they did against the grain of what came before them. It wasn't a good match, but i can't sit and agree with how bad people are saying it was. The rest of the PPV was "a million, billion" stars in my eyes. I loved every single other match with my top 3 being Toni/Mariah, Hangman/MJF and Kenny/Takeshita. Ospreay/Fletcher was the spectacle it needed to be and Fletcher, as far as I'm concerned, is made going forward. I was such a low voter on him, but ive turned around on him recently, with seeing Fletcher/Komander live in Philly and this cementing him as someone I would start to go out of my way to watch matches of. I hope they pivot and have Swerve win, and, as others have stated in here, work towards Swerve/Hangman at All In, especially since you can say Hangman has never "officially" beat Swerve since his only win was the unsanctioned cage. A possible All In Card being Swerve/Hangman 5 Mercedes/Athena Kenny/Okada Those three matches alone are enough to sell what is your biggest show of the year. I hope it comes to fruition. Also, please just give Joe/Shibata/Hook the Trios belts. I hate they're in purgatory, unless they're just being phased out? 1

There was also In Your House 3 where Michaels and Diesel were facing Yokozuna and Davey (who was subbing for a supposedly injured Owen Hart) for the tag titles, and then Owen interfered and was pinned. 1 1
Matt D Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I’m so high on Fletcher’s development. He has incredible instincts all things considered and he goes for real heat. The cage match wasn’t at all grounded but where it did resonate emotionally was on Fletcher’s mannerisms, antics, and reactions as he got his comeuppance. 6
Curt McGirt Posted March 11 Posted March 11 It's funny. You can look at the whole "FUCK YOU I HATE YOU" part as him flailing for connection in a match that had revved up into nothing but weapons and spots, but it really did reconnect everything back to "this is a feud for a reason". Ospreay wasn't trying to do that. Fletcher as heel was supposed to lead, and he did that. It was simple, and childish, and it worked. 5

That was probably my favorite part of the match, especially with Ospreay's immediate reaction of laying him the F out. It was close to a perfect "pro wrestling" moment. 2

I’ll check my account settings later. Especially as I like your posts and I know there’s only two people I have on ignore. 1
