I’d recommend Greg’s show that he just did about the  Mid South Tulsa Wrestlefest. Also Beau’s pod in general, but the start of chronicling Bert Prentice’s career.

I guess this goes here: I am at work and this morning I choose to listen to yesterday's episode of Gil's Arena, which is Gilbert Arenas' basketball show as opposed to the rest of his content which is anything but basketball.

DJ Vlad was one of the guests on the couch. I didn't expect him to bring up the whole Booker T/ Swerve ordeal. I definitely didn't expect him to mention the Chasyn Rance stuff. That shit caught me off guard.

Vlad's platform is pretty big itself. Now, he is going on other big platforms to skewer Booker T.

"So Vlad, what have you been up to lately?"

"You ever heard of a guy called Chasyn Rance?"

I haven't heard any DJ Vlad, what tier of promos would he land in if he was in wrestling?

It's not because they're both Jews, but he is the literally the hip hop Paul Heyman. Except he probably pays people on time and is somehow more divisive.

Sorry, I skipped to near the end.

Spoiler

I'm shedding manly tears hearing this news.  Holy fuck, you lovely bastards did it again. And with AEW to boot!

Whoever's coming to Dean 3 I'll see you in Philly~!

Tony dropping the story about having to tell Darby that he couldn't get hit by a car during a 2020 Dynamite really was something

yeah Darby, our roster isn't really deep, we're doing pandemic era shows.. let's not do the Gilbert/Lawler angle

Ok, I finally got to listen to this. Fucking breath of fresh air to hear someone talking about how awesome violent, bloody pro wrestling is. No talk about ratings or sponsors or streaming numbers or hand wringing about the blood or any of that shit. Just a couple people geeking out over seeing something they think is awesome. That was the appeal of DVDVR to me. Not to shake my fist at the clouds, but I miss that.

"I hate spooky wrestling." - Phil on the latest Way of the Blade episode.

Same, Phil, same. Love learning that pointing out how dumb Bray Wyatt's stuff was alienated Phil from the other Ringer wrestling writers.

Has “spooky wrestling” ever been done well?  I’d say Sullivan in Florida back in the day, but that heavily took advantage of satanic panic.  Aside from that, spooky wrestling stables just look like edgelord cosplay dorks.

I was legit scarred of the Undertaker as a kid. I thought Yokozuna was going to die (even though he was the heel), and was like HBK fucked with the wrong guy for Hell in the Cell so that stuff (along with the early Kane stuff) worked for me.
