Niners Fan in CT Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 I promise this isn't a post shitting on CM Punk but wasn't Hangman the guy that Punk said "didn't want to listen, didn't respect the veterans advice" and all that stuff? I can make an argument that Hangman has been 10x more interesting over the past year than Punk has in WWE. Just funny to think about. Maybe Hangman didn't need your advice. 6 1

Coach had starry eyes for Punk, and told Hangman, the motherfucking protagonist of the whole damn company, to go out and put Punk over, and Hangman did it. Then Punk tried to clown Hangman for it. Fuck Punk. 11
stuntmanc Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 Not even bringing up the cowardly shit Punk pulled shooting on Hangman to "come out" and Hangman showing what a true professional he was compared to Company Man Phil. Sad thing is, Punk idiots hang onto that one misquoted section about not listening to veterans and the Punk BS to trash Hangman at every turn. Hangman is a professional, Punk is and was a whiny coward. Fuck that guy for days. AEW would be in a better place if Punk didn't weasel his way to the world title and I will die on that hill forever. 6 1
SovietShooter Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 At the point when Punk came back, he hadn't wrestled since Jan 2014 - over seven years. In that time, Adam Page had over 450 matches between ROH, NJPW, AEW, and all the indies he worked. He was literally the number one Babyface and champion of the hottest company in the world at that time, and old man Punk comes in and starts telling him how to act. Fuck Punk 10
A.M.B. Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 MJF/Hangman segment was good, even if MJF’s promo style feels a little tired to me. I definitely think there should be more history between them 5 years in, but at least we’re getting it now. Honestly it’s the perfect feud to have been a slow burn and now kick into a blood feud, but blood and violence is so overdone I dont really care where it goes. 1
Godfrey Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 Hilarious Punk takes, well done one and all 1
HarryArchieGus Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 Incredibly disappointing production decision to shoot towards the screen/stage. It looked like a pandemic era show during the matches. From pictures online, the venue looks like a neat building, but it wasn't evident from how they shot it.
Overly Critical Man Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 I bet it was Punk’s fault Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne completely screwed up that post-match with Thunder Rosa too! 1

Niners Fan in CT Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Punk DID once break his foot (ankle?) jumping into the crowd so I'd rank Thunder Rosa's blunder a 2/5 on that blooper scale. 3

Aren't you the one who just complained that Harley Cameron was "banished" because she wasn't on this show right after Grand Slam? Good stuff. 3
Mike Campbell Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 The layout of this whole "International Championship Series" tournament perfectly sums up my frustration with this company, despite how much I enjoy the actual wrestling. OC beats Strong last night, and thus challenges Takeshita for the International Strap next week. The winner of that goes to defend the title at the PPV against Omega. Why exactly is the current champion having to go through all of this to defend against him? Would it not make more sense for Omega to have to whether the proverbial storm in order to get a title shot? 2 1

Curt McGirt Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Yeah but you know that would involve Harley using a little Grey puppet and that sounds kinda stupid.

I don't mind either of them and I thought the show was strong (no pun) overall but as a main event on your A-show it's just kinda there for me. I've always said that these shows are 100x better when Khan is able to find use of all of his top tier talent. They don't need to wrestle every week but they should all be there every week.
HarryArchieGus Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 (edited) AEW is on a helluva run here. Despite the silliness of booking a face 2 face after a brawl, I liked the Hanger/MJF talk segment. They're selling a PPV, and I'm buying it. A nice Grandslam recap video. Always far too fast, but at least they're doing them. The Opps v Patriarchy was a nice TV showcase. The babyfaces looked strong. Awesome dive from Joe. Lazy non-tag from Sabian/Wayne late in the match - Father Christian gestured WTF? Excellent Chris Jericho promo. His best in a long time. I with the idea that he didn't like receiving the WO worst gimmick award. (I gotta see the Global Wars.) I thought Bill v Hobbs was a helluva bout. The finish was terrifically brutal. Nice to see a Murder Machines promo. I really hope they give these two a couple significant wins before they do the honors for the Hurt Foundation. I live without a microwave and so should AEW. The Timeless Toni Storm promo was the highlight of the show. Perfection! I was pleased to see a brief Gabe Kidd hype video. I also like seeing more and more ppl becoming aware of how great he is. The Willow/Marina/Death Riders/Cope/Jay White segment was good for the weekly beat. I liked Willow addressing Renee's spouse. Not the best Mone promo, but looking forward to the bout with Watanabe. Megan Bayne v Stat was very good. I like the win for Bayne and the protection for Stat. I'm interested to see how Ford/Bayne play out. The Rosa run-in was her usual nonsense. The Ricochet/Nana talk segment was very good. It's nice to see Ricochet so comfortable with a mic. He's come a long way.. Nana was good too. The Max Caster promo was very good. I continue to love this delusional heel. His comedy is totally on point. I'm hoping they let him get a little more competitive with his matches tho. Roddy v OC was a nice solid bout from two total pros. Nice Omega save to close. Takeshita v OC should be a solid affair. Another fun show this week building to what will no doubt be yet another impressive PPV. Edited February 21, 2025 by HarryArchieGus 1
BrianS81177 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 As much as I love Hangman, I'd still rather see Eddie Kingston be the one to dethrone Mox. Especially if you build to it with some fiery promos from Eddie talking about how AEW gave him the chance nobody else ever did, and god damn you Jon don't make me fight you over this! 1

Eddie would be my choice as well, but that injury happened for him at the worst possible time. Do we even know when he’s coming back? 2
Shartnado Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Dynamite opening promo was pretty bad-ass and MJF was slightly less annoying than he has been recently and made some solid points. Very intrigued by the upcoming match. But: Where's Jarrett at? Attacking MJF after the match, I guess? More trios title defenses coming up! That's good. Garcia and 2.0 have less of a shot than Undisputed Kingdom did (Where's Taven & Bennett at?) The street fight was intense with Hobbs getting his revenge. (Down with) OPP's kicked the collective ass of The Patriarchy with Christian showing exactly what kind of absentee father he really is, letting his kids take a beating and not being there for them when it matters. OPP is the sort of team that will actually have a shot at winning the Trios titles if they get a shot at them. Not complaining, but this seems awfully quick to give us Statlander vs Bayne. I did figure that there would be a tag match with Rosa/Statlander vs Ford/Bayne and I'm all for it. Gabe Kidd coming to Collision. After that Omega match, I am interested to see who he will go up against? Wait, it's Max Caster, isn't it? Time for another ass kicking! OC has his good music back! Excellent! Wait, it's been a year already since that title match between Roddy and OC? Shit! Well, this was good. The hugging contest early on was good times. OC still has issues with Cole and I'm fine with that. TBS title will also be defended at Revolution, ok. Jericho vs Bandido on Collision. How about on ROH? No? Okay. Timeless Toni Storm promo was good but it didn't really set up anything yet. Well, she can have her moment before that happens. Good episode, nothing earth shattering, compared to Grand Slam, but that should be obvious. 2

And beyond that it's Strong who's been wrestling trios (and they'd also been teasing him and the other Undisputed guys going for the TNT title) and OC who hasn't been on TV. Neither of them has done anything to warrant being involved in an International title scenario. And IIRC Kenny challenged Takeshita to a title match after pinning him in the big tag match. Then they backfilled this championship series thing to culminate in the current champion maybe defending against the guy who challenged him Just weird, backwards, superfluous booking.... 2
