This whole thing has been amazing because not only is Devers refusing to move off of 3B, he refuses to DH too So that led to someone asking Alex Cora about it yesterday and Cora bluntly said "3B is not his just because the former GM promised him it" It is all so delicious

RIPPA Posted February 19, 2025 Author Posted February 19, 2025 Justin Turner to the Cubs on a one year, $6 million deal
RIPPA Posted February 21, 2025 Author Posted February 21, 2025 Yankees extend Aaron Boone for 2 years Not really a surprise since they wanted to eliminate him being a "lame duck" since his deal expires at the end of the 2025 season And at the beginning of the week, the Athletics extended Mark Kotsay for the three years. Similar deal in that his contract would be up at season's end
RIPPA Posted February 21, 2025 Author Posted February 21, 2025 The Yankees have finally eliminated their facial hair policy - announcing they will allow "well groomed beards" Of course I enjoy they did this AFTER all the new guys had shaved 1

Dolfan in NYC Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Humiliating umps in public is gonna go great.
Dolfan in NYC Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Also, MLB has soon you P00P and B00B jokes, and they are not happy:
BobbyWhioux Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 We also won’t be seeing BAL SAC jokes since Fuck John Fisher won’t be claiming a home city while the A’s scab it up in Sacramento
RIPPA Posted February 24, 2025 Author Posted February 24, 2025 Guardians owner Larry Dolan has passed away at the age of 94 Obviously he hasn't been in control for years as his son Paul took over back in 2013

Cobra Commander Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 Just spotted a Brewers minor leaguer named Jesus Made in a spring game. He's a 17 year old Dominican. 2

Dolfan in NYC Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Back when I played catcher, I once threw a bottle at a guy who was pitching like he was intentionally trying to miss me. All I'm saying is the Minnesota catching battery will hire a sniper by June if he makes the ML roster. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 Reigning ROTY Luis Gil got shut down when he experienced tightness in his shoulder during a bullpen session today. MRI tomorrow
odessasteps Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 Othani hits an opposite field HR in first spring training at bat. Of course he does.

MRI tomorrow I was talking with Ed and he summed it up perfectly Gil is Severino 2.0 He can be really good but he is never gonna give you a full season (assuming he even pitches in a season)
RIPPA Posted March 1, 2025 Author Posted March 1, 2025 Giancarlo Stanton will start the season on the IL Not really surprising - he has been away from the club due to a "personal matter" however while gone he did get injections into both his elbows So the combination of that and being really behind in ST = the IL Where he is most assuredly going to be joined by DJ LeMahieu who, not shockingly, tweaked a hammy today and Aaron Boone was already acting like he is done for the year (which did make me chuckle)
RIPPA Posted March 3, 2025 Author Posted March 3, 2025 Holy Shit - its finally happening The Nats and Orioles have settled their TV rights dispute The Nats get their TV rights back starting next season https://x.com/chelsea_janes/status/1896561449688027340
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 That.... Combined with the following news makes me wonder if the Nats are solvent. Washington is finally selling naming rights on their stadium and will be getting jersey sponsorship as well. (C'mon Walgreens....) 1
