Eivion Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) Just saw a clip of a CVV interview where they were talking about her potentially going in. It was one of those she wouldn't say no if asked, but she really wanted to go in with Layla as LayCool specifically. Edited February 14 by Eivion 2

Just announced. i wasn't really watching during McCool's time in the company. i know her tenure was during the 'divas' era, but was she any good in the ring? Does she have any standout matches, promos, or segments that someone should check out?

Does she have any standout matches, promos, or segments that someone should check out? Like most of the women during that time, she was limited by many constraints (time given for matches, moves they were not allowed to do, the general view that the divas really didn't matter as wrestlers, etc.) but she still managed to rise above it and would be considered in the top tier of divas during the era. I wouldn't really recommend promos because she was fairly robotic and, by her own accounts, never really comfortable doing them. The one that is best remembered is the "Piggy James" farewell, which is trash for a number of reasons. But she had some fun matches and found a sliver of personality when she teamed with Layla as LayCool although their heat veered very often from genuine to go away (they became overexposed fairly quickly). A shame that she didn't debut a few years later. She would have likely flourished under the current system. Some of her PPV highlights include: McCool vs Nattie Great American Bash 2008, McCool vs Melina Night of Champions 2009, McCool vs Melina Night of Champions 2010, Layla/McCool vs Beth/Nattie TLC 2010, and McCool vs Layla Extreme Rules 2011. There were also tons of 3-5 minute Smackdown/Superstars matches that would give you an idea on what she could do. I would search for matches that include her and Gail Kim, Maryse, Melina, Beth, Victoria, Tiffany, or Mickie. 2

Curt McGirt Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) He was willing to talk about it on Tenta's Dark Side episode EDIT: Which if you haven't seen them play it for Haku/Meng and watched him completely fall out laughing you really need to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGy50Hsx2Mw Edited March 7 by Curt McGirt
NikoBaltimore Posted March 7 Posted March 7 He was also at Comic Con when they showed the Shockmaster figure. It's been a few years but I recall a picture where he had a huge smile posing with the figure.
ChesterCopperpot Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) Lex Luger finally got the call Edited March 7 by ChesterCopperpot 13
odessasteps Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) The WWE vid I’m guessing DDP will induct him, but it probably should be Real Estate Steve. Edited March 7 by odessasteps 2
Craig H Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I don't think Sting is under any kind of a firm AEW contract and for something like this and for as big of a fan of WCW he was, I can't see Coach stopping Sting from inducting Luger.
odessasteps Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Lex did say on the radio he’d like Sting to induct him (and said it sitting next to DDP). I presume he wouldnt have said it if he knew it was not possible politically right now.

DreamBroken Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Forgot this had a thread, but thrilled to see Lex finally going in. He and Sid were always my top two most wanted inductions for so many years. I figured with Sid passing, he'd be more likely than this year than Lex was. Would be cool to see both go in at the same time after all, maybe an outside chance of Sid getting added in last, but I just love that Lex gets to have his moment at least. 2

It's sad when wrestlers who should get their due while alive have passed away: Vader and Sid. 3

Ace Posted March 29 Posted March 29 UFC's been doing it for years. That's how Griffin and Bonnar are in their HoF.
odessasteps Posted March 29 Posted March 29 If they had a physical HOF, a best matches exhibit makes sense. Inducting a match seems odd.
Casey Posted March 29 Posted March 29 can’t wait until they put those masturbatory Triple H/Undertaker matches in. Those matches fucking suuuuucked but people seem to love them. 2

This got me thinking: Will it be WrestleMania matches only? WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year. Doing that however excludes other matches that deserve to be there. I wouldn't limit it to WrestleMania only for that reason. Which matches will get in over time? Surprised this wasn't done sooner like UFC has for years with it's Hall of Fame.
