Dolfan in NYC Posted August 1, 2025 Author Posted August 1, 2025 Just a reminder that David Zaslav hates you all
odessasteps Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I meant to post that yesterday. One reason I got rid of Max.
Gonzo Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I'm not 100% sure where this should go, but it's as close to "Hollywood Business" as anything. If there's a better place for it, please move it there. https://barrettmedia.com/2025/08/05/siriusxm-howard-stern-not-expected-to-reach-contract-extension/ Howard Stern is not expected to reach an agreement on a contract extension with SiriusXM when his current deal expires later this year. They may offer him one but it's not likely that he accepts it.
RIPPA Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Saw this on Variety when looking at the WWE story https://variety.com/2025/digital/news/hulu-app-phased-out-disney-plus-fully-integrating-1236480450/ Disney is phasing out the stand alone Hulu App Everything will go under the stand alone Disney+ app - Disney claims you can still get Hulu or Disney+ alone

Not really surprised by this, his channels got bumped down to the super basic tier earlier this year and his listener demographic is really old, no one is going out of their way to pay to listen to just him, he's just another channel, I wonder if he'll actually retire or go the podcast/YouTube route. Now that I get the channels I'll pop them on once and awhile, his interviews and stuff like the news with Robin are still good, but the rest is unlistenable, I stopped listening on the regular over 15 years ago when is was way too much Richard, Sal and Ronnie stuff, which isn't funny to me at all, it's still a ton of that but even less funny. 2
Curt McGirt Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 At least someone's standing up to this madness who can impact it
Stefanie Sparkleface Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 Posting this over here because it makes more sense: Looney Tunes to Tubi. I think you can expect more stuff that can be licensed, albeit cheaply, winding up on Pluto and Tubi rather than staying on owned services because the ad support is more worth it than a service that has ad-free tiers. (Either that or they're New Coke-ing things. You decide!) 1
odessasteps Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 Peacock is dealing with losing wwe by raising prices starting next month. As for the cartoons, as always, curious to see what is not included and what is censored.

(Either that or they're New Coke-ing things. You decide!) I'm very in favor of this type of move. I can't justify the price of streamers but will gladly trade off with some ads. Now if Pluto would fix it's app, I could watch Supermarket Sweep in peace.
RIPPA Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 MSNBC will be known as MS NOW in the upcoming months The abbreviation stands for (and lord is this infuriating) - My Source for News Opinion and the World The name used for the cable assets for a publicly traded company will be Versant The biggest reason for the change is that NBCU decided to keep the Peacock logo and "not share" thus forcing the rebrand (which includes a new logo) Also USA Network and the Golf Channel will be housed under the label "USA Sports" and will get new logos CNBC is keeping its name but getting a new logo https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/msnbc-new-name-ms-now-1236491621/

Curt McGirt Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 So who won Labor Day weekend at the box office? Jaws. $8.1 million.

Curt McGirt Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 "Is forced to". That's a very important and missing part of the statement. "Is forced to" come to YouTube.
Curt McGirt Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 (edited) EDIT: Doublepost. My phone is funky, writing on here. Edited September 4, 2025 by Curt McGirt
Bustronaut Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 I'm guessing Youtube is probably paying handsomely for the episodes
Curt McGirt Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 They better, considering they're cultural milestones that educated millions of children. But we can't afford that anymore; someone else wants the money.
Mister TV Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Howard Stern is staying at Sirius, they pulled prank with Andy Cohen taking over the channel, after about a minute it was obvious it was a bit, but that was enough for a bunch of news outlets to report Stern was fired.

Yeah there was an AP breaking news alert pushed falling for it before a second alert correcting it
