I'm not 100% sure where this should go, but it's as close to "Hollywood Business" as anything. If there's a better place for it, please move it there.

Howard Stern is not expected to reach an agreement on a contract extension with SiriusXM when his current deal expires later this year. They may offer him one but it's not likely that he accepts it.

Not really surprised by this, his channels got bumped down to the super basic tier earlier this year and his listener demographic is really old, no one is going out of their way to pay to listen to just him, he's just another channel, I wonder if he'll actually retire or go the podcast/YouTube route.

Now that I get the channels I'll pop them on once and awhile, his interviews and stuff like the news with Robin are still good, but the rest is unlistenable, I stopped listening on the regular over 15 years ago when is was way too much Richard, Sal and Ronnie stuff, which isn't funny to me at all, it's still a ton of that but even less funny.

Posting this over here because it makes more sense: Looney Tunes to Tubi. I think you can expect more stuff that can be licensed, albeit cheaply, winding up on Pluto and Tubi rather than staying on owned services because the ad support is more worth it than a service that has ad-free tiers. (Either that or they're New Coke-ing things. You decide!)

Peacock is dealing with losing wwe by raising prices starting next month.

As for the cartoons, as always, curious to see what is not included and what is censored.

I'm very in favor of this type of move. I can't justify the price of streamers but will gladly trade off with some ads. Now if Pluto would fix it's app, I could watch Supermarket Sweep in peace.

MSNBC will be known as MS NOW in the upcoming months

The abbreviation stands for (and lord is this infuriating) - My Source for News Opinion and the World

The name used for the cable assets for a publicly traded company will be Versant

The biggest reason for the change is that NBCU decided to keep the Peacock logo and "not share" thus forcing the rebrand (which includes a new logo)

Also USA Network and the Golf Channel will be housed under the label "USA Sports" and will get new logos

CNBC is keeping its name but getting a new logo

So who won Labor Day weekend at the box office?

Jaws.

$8.1 million.

That Spielberg is a hack. He'll never make it.

Howard Stern is staying at Sirius, they pulled prank with Andy Cohen taking over the channel, after about a minute it was obvious it was a bit, but that was enough for a bunch of news outlets to report Stern was fired.

Yeah there was an AP breaking news alert pushed falling for it before a second alert correcting it
