Man, you were Mad Max once, dude. Now you're just mad. The fact that this guy still has a career after the one-two punch of 1) the audio of his interaction with that cop and 2) the audio of his argument with his wife just proves that “cancel culture” didn’t happen soon enough. ”I hope you get r’d by a pack of n’s” is top 5 the most vile shit I have heard in my life. 1

To be fair, Mel hasn't done anything nearly as bad as the star of Flight Risk, and yet Wahlberg doesn't get nearly the level of shit. (This is resolutely not a defense of Gibson.) 2

This world is a shitty place when scum like him has made the money he has while good people are struggling making ends meet. Grr. 2
Curt McGirt Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 What was that about Marky Mark? Didn't he beat his girlfriend or something?
username Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 Teenage Wahlberg beat a couple of asian while calling them racist slurs so badly that one of them lost sight in an eye. 1

And two years before that, him and some of his friends were arrested for two separate incidents of chasing and throwing rocks at young black children while yelling things like "kill the *******" and yes, you have correctly guessed the word I will not type. And four years after assaulting the two Vietnamese men, he broke the jaw of a neighbor in what was called an "attack without provocation" though at least that one I don't think was racially motivated, just him being a violent asshole. Or that "Cancel Culture" doesn't actually exist. 3

An then both he and his brother got famous by ripping off black culture. Fucking jackoffs. 4
Travis Sheldon Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 My take is that Wahlberg is a Boston jagoff. Fuck him and Ben Affleck. (Affleck for killing any like that I had of Dunkin Donuts) 1
Curt McGirt Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 My folks bought me a book called The New Book of Rock Lists when I was a kid, by Dave Marsh, and I learned all kinds of scuttlebutt and dirt and just plain information in that, and the Marky Mark thing had to be in there. It's still really cool to read and I have it in a box somewhere around here. It came out in '94 so it's plenty dated but by that time hip hop had entered the public consciousness and so had grunge, so it was pretty well in need for a revision of the original. Rave and house were still too underground, though.

I don't even know if they still sell any of the 3 donuts they had that were any good. Is this also where streaming stuff goes, because I'm not signing up for Netflix again, maybe ever. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 17, 2025 Author Posted March 17, 2025 All Looney Tunes have been removed from Max. David E. Zaslav, Super Genius. 1

Curt McGirt Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 When I saw this pop up in my Google feed I thought it was literally insane. Looney Tunes is the very identity of Warners. Yeah, it might've been small-time since Space Jam and Tiny Toon Adventures, but what could possibly be the point of putting it in mothballs like Disney would? How much money are they actually saving by taking it all off Max? Don't they have any self-respect, for fuck's sake, even if they don't for their audiences or the history of American cinema? Just, WHAT THE FUCK?!

Just, WHAT THE FUCK?! Disney perfected "The Vault", WB has perfected "The Crypt". No way Disney would ever mothball their legacy characters in the way that has been done to Looney Tunes. Zaslav is shortsighted and uncreative as a CEO. Edited March 21, 2025 by Travis Sheldon grammar 1
odessasteps Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 That said, I do wish Disney had more classic content, the kind of stuff we would watch but hardly anyone else. Admittedly, some of it may not pass the culture test in 2025, like Davy Crockett, Swamp Fox, et al. I dont think oldschool Mickey Mouse club is on there, either.
Curt McGirt Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 It looks just like the old one almost. What's the point?
