I trust Brad Holmes but I do not understand trading up to draft Isaac Teslaa - a wide receiver who had......... 28 catches last year. Without being injured. He's big (6'4") and apparently super athletic but... 28 catches.

Yeah I'm with you. I mostly bite my tongue after hating the draft a couple years ago that turned into a bunch of home run picks, but this is an odd one.

Holy shit Milroe over him?!?

The Browns picked Dillion Gabriel over him.  I'm going to need someone to explain this to me.

I hope someone unbiased and trustworthy does whatever research is necessary to give a detailed account of what happened with Sanders. Sometimes players slide for "character" issues or injury issues but Sanders' only character flaw we know of is being overly confident which A LOT of athletes have, his gameplay footage has some holes but all college kids do, and I don't really think the Deion thing would cause this kind of drop as if a team thinks a player is great they aren't worried about who the father is (just look at the Balls in the NBA, teams didn't care). I'm beyond shocked he has fallen this far, never seen anything like it for a QB.

if it makes Shedeur feel any better, the Browns are also idiots

I got nothing.

Like, I legit don't think Sanders is a first round talent. But not going in the first three, with Gabriel and Milroe both taken? I'm shocked.

Shedeur apparently requested to be paid in AI and the teams didn't know what to make of it

Teams apparently not rushing to be the focus of rumors about hiring Deion as their HC

At least Mike Tomlin/the Steelers would be pretty much immune to that. They don't fire coaches and I cannot imagine them ever even considering Deion if they did have an opening.

I assume that "paid in AI" is some kind of joke the kids say these days because what the fuck is that?  Crypto?

In a kind of funny way, I did see a video of Shilo Sanders looking at the TV standing next to Shadeur saying something lke “I don’t even know what they going to do with me” . “If they making him wait, Oh buddy” .   To be fair even if Shadeur would have been drafted in the 1st round he probably should say the same thing.  I feel like Shilo is what people think Shadeur is

Abdul Carter wants the Giants to let him wear #56

Considering he seems to be as much of a lunatic as LT was - I am all for it

Apparently LT is not.

He is not going to let Carter wear 56.  "Get another number, I don't care if it's double zero, and make it famous."

This is from Todd McShay (so take it for what it is worth) but on his podcast (that I think was done after Round 1 but before Rounds 2 and 3)

He was told that during the Giants private workout with Shedeur, they did the standard installation package breakdown and Shedeur was "not prepared". Brian Daboll called him out for it and Shedeur "didn't react well" to being called out

Clearly that came from the team but if you are deciding between two guys, things like that could be the tipping point

While we await day 3, I find that I got to watch college games of the QB who is tied for the slowest 40 in Combine history and I was not surprised when I found out he clocked out slow.

Quote

Ryan Mallett, Arkansas, New England Patriots, 3rd round pick No. 74, 2011: 5.37

Chris Redman, Louisville, Baltimore Ravens, 3rd round pick No. 75, 2000: 5.37

Toby Korrodi, Central Missouri State, undrafted: 2007: 5.37

(Hint: I didn’t go to Arkansas or Louisville)

Yeah I was joking and trying to figure out a phrase where someone would talk about the whole AI craze without knowing enough about it.

Like whatever Shedeur said in his interviews to tank himself is probably something subtle. Because if a team believes in a guy, they’d draft him even if he spent the interview talking about using his money to fund the Yakuza

I have no idea how much of the Sanders shit is true, but not working out at your pro day or the combine and pulling at least some interview shananigans when you aren't the best QB prospect on the planet seems to have been a bad idea.

I'm still thinking someone like The Colts with a shakey QB room might tale him in the 6th or 7th. What are the chances he ends up better than Richardson and Daniel Jones? 50/50? 30/70? I mean that's worth a 6th for a sure why not hail mary.

Dolphins? I mean Tua is another concussion or two from being out of the league. The Jets? Fields wouldn't like it but it's a business.

Colts / Dolphins / Jets / Panthers / Jaguars / Cardinals. Someone's gonna get him eventually. Even if they already have a pretty locked in starter. It's too tempting.

Heck with that list I’d add the 49ers as Purdy isn’t extended just yet. Maybe even Americas Team. Dak gets hurt yearly.

Seriously, nothing about how he has carried himself publicly makes me believe he'd be that bad privately.  Say what you want about him, his dad, and the rest of his family, they know how to turn on the charm when it matters.  What could he have possibly done in those interviews?

Seems his biggest transgression is he came of as very uncoachable and blamed his teammates when things went wrong rather than fall on the sword. You could think this situation could potentially humble him but he's the son of a hall of famer that had his college number retired after an okay college career. He's a little too used to getting his own way. Dad is probably the only coach he'd listen too
