If The Browns don't take him at the top of round 2 I think he'll land somewhere weird no one is expecting like The Colts or The Seahawks in round 3. I imagine the Browns will pick him with one of their two early second round picks. I'm honestly surprised it's got this far. Jaxson Dart is a guy who rarely made plays that weren't dependent on the scheme, which isn't rare for a college quarterback, but isn't usually something that helps your draft prospects. Sanders if nothing else makes plays. When Colorado was good, it was because he made them good, which usually helps a lot. It's a unique situation, but sheesh we've seen way worse quarterbacks get drafted before now.

If the Browns pass, the Saints almost assuredly won't. Then after that, it goes to the second tier of teams that don't absolutely need QBs but wouldn't mind having one, think Las Vegas, the Rams, or the Jets. Beyond THAT, you start going to teams that are looking for backups for their fragile-porcelain-mice that they have at QB (Miami, Arizona, Indy). I'm guessing it's 99% he's a Brown or Saint, but someone will take a flyer on him.
dogwelder Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 One thing to point out is that people are saying next year's QB draft class will be much, much better. So a team may not draft Sanders knowing they're going to suck this year anyway and try to tank to get Arch Manning or another better QB next year.

For what it's worth, a 2nd round quarterback failing does not really set you back as a franchise like missing on a first rounder will. There is no reason for the Browns to skip out on Sanders this year because they'll have two 1st rounders next year. It doesn't guarantee anything, but if he's a disaster, it won't hurt much to replace him. If he's good, they have a super cheap quarterback to build what is already a fairly decent roster around. If they can get their o-line injuries under control, and JOK is healthy, the Browns are a decent quarterback away from the playoffs. They also can't go into next season with the same backfield. I hope they bring back Chubb, because he's a quality dude, but they can't bet on him being what he was before the injury. 1
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Based on the reports - it would seem the Browns are taking Sanders if they have to What I mean by that is multiple folks say the Browns are trying to trade back some more to acquire even more future picks
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Steelers first round pick Derrick Harmon’s mother passed away shortly after he was drafted She had been in a coma and Harmon left the draft immediately to tell her he was picked by the Steelers (which he apparently was able to do) 2
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Speaking of numbers - the Titans had Warren Moon surprise Cam Ward today and give him his blessing to wear #1
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Miami just traded up with the Raiders and now I pray its Sanders to ruin Dolfan's night 1

RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Rich Eisen just name dropped Seth Rollins because I live in the worst timeline
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Apparently per Pat McAfee Rollins will announced the Bears 2nd pick this round (41) And John Cena and Idris Elba filmed some sort of video for the Patriots pick at 69
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Well the Saints just picked Tyler Shough over Sanders so clearly Sanders is never getting picked
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 The Bills saving us from Seth Rollins for the moment
hammerva Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Okay I would entertain the talk about Dart being better than Sanders but no way in fuck am I choosing Shough over him
RIPPA Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Jason Taylor’s kid getting drafted My bones are turning to dust 1 1

RIPPA Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Green Bay - it’s totally cool if you want to throw shit at this man
supremebve Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Just now, Raziel said: How bad were Sanders' interviews? Seriously, nothing about how he has carried himself publicly makes me believe he'd be that bad privately. Say what you want about him, his dad, and the rest of his family, they know how to turn on the charm when it matters. What could he have possibly done in those interviews?
Brian Fowler Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 In a huge upset, Kordell Stewart remains the highest drafted Colorado QB ever. We are into the range where I figure we are hitting Sanders's actual non-positional adjusted draft grade, so I'm shocked he's still on the board. (I had entertained some fun thoughts of Cleveland using one of their two picks at the top of round 2 on Will Johnson just in some complex effort to troll their Buckeye partisan fanbase. Surprised he fell all the way to Arizona though.)
